Abstract expressionism

Although I am aware of Gino Hollander and his work, having seen it many times between 1960-1962 on Bleecker Street, (and I liked it) he really isn't a major abstract expressionist, and his participation in the New York school was marginal at best. As you've written he worked in the Village from 1960 to 1962.

The era for Abstract expressionism is more like 1945 through 1958. Pollock died in 1956, and Kline was gone by 1962, and Pop Art, Hard-Edge painting, Color field painting, Fluxus, Minimal Art and any number of other movements had swept into the New York scene. Hollander began painting those paintings at the end of the era, and then he split. I'll leave him on the other artist list. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
