Response
editI don't really know. The thinking tends to be that any photo taken by a studio is subject to copyright. One cannot rely on postings on Ebay to be accurate regarding provenance. The best thing I know to do is start running Google searches for images of her and look for one that matches, see what is on the page and go from there. There have been some questionable photos, and she certainly looks quite a bit older than 22 or 23. Wildhartlivie (talk) 03:30, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
- I contacted someone else about those photos who seems to have a deeper understanding of image copyrights. Now, Natalie Wood was a spectacular looking woman, but somehow I doubt that File:Natalie Wood Still1.jpg was taken in 1960 and that is the face of a 22 year old, especially a 22 year old Natalie Wood. Compare that face to her face in West Side Story in 1961, it isn't that young. I think that face is at least 30 years old. I've looked and couldn't find one like it so far. And that thick, fat eyeliner was SO not 1960. It's LATE 1960s at least. I simply don't buy it as within the 1923-1963 date. I buy the File:Natalie Wood.jpg as in that era, but it is in no way in the same age range as the first one. Wildhartlivie (talk) 12:05, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
- Hairstyles and make-up in films are determined by others besides the actor. Her hair in Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice could well be a wig and the make-up is styled by make-up artists. The eyeliner in the File:Natalie Wood Still1.jpg is strictly into the late 1960s. And as for looking a certain age, the clues are in the fine lines around her eyes and elsewhere.
