I'm going to be away from wikipedia for a while, and when I return it will only be for intermittent editing at a low level. I certainly won't be able to contribute to a significant degree, nor act on any requests quickly.
Messages here will be read at some point, but don't expect a quick reply.
Invitation to join Wikipedia:WikiProject Eastern Orthodoxy
editHi there! I've noticed that you've edited articles pertaining to the Eastern Orthodox Church. I wanted to extend an invitation to you to join the WikiProject dedicated to organizing and improving articles on the subject, which can be found at: WikiProject Eastern Orthodoxy. This WikiProject was begun because a need was perceived to raise the level of quality of articles on Wikipedia which deal with the Eastern Orthodox Church.
You can find information on the project page about the WikiProject, as well as how to join and how to indicate that you are a member of the project. Additionally, you may be interested in helping out with our collaboration of the month. I hope you'll consider joining and thank you for your contributions thus far! —A.S. Wikipedia Research Survey Request
editHello, I am a member of a research group at Palo Alto Research Center (formerly known as Xerox PARC) studying how conflicts occur and resolve on Wikipedia. Due to your experience in conflict resolution on Wikipedia (e.g., as a member of the Mediation Cabal) we’re extremely interested in your insights on this topic. We have a survey at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=400792384029 which we are inviting a few selected Wikipedians to participate in, and we would be extremely appreciative if you would take the time to complete it. As a token of our gratitude, we would like to present you with a PARC research star upon completion. Thank you for your time.

European patent Law / Euroean Patent Convention
editThese two articles had grown largely redundant, so I combined most of the work we did on European patent law into European patent convention and left behind a link. Could you double check that it's still right? I did not intentionally remove anything - but as an American lawyer, I may not have recognized the importance of something that I thought was two redundant statements of the same thing.

Bay Chamber concerts
edit2/23/07 - Re: 12:41, 25 January 2007 Kcordina (Talk | contribs) deleted "Bay Chamber Concerts" (Self-admitted copyvio) I created the page, and don't know why it was deleted. Self-admitted copyright violation? The photo that was on the page, and the text from the entry was supplied by their creator, me. How could that be a violation of copyright? I do know that more work was needed to link to and from. Could you please put the page back, so I can work on that issue? Chance Farago - hephestes at yahoo.
- In the edit for the page creation it says 'mostly taken from bay chamber orchestra page' - that web site is not labelled as public-domain or as licensed under the GFDL, and is therefore presumed to be copyrighted to someone. In order for material to be used from other sites it needs to licensed under the GFDL, or permission explicitly granted to use the material. Permission can be granted by sending an email to permissions(at)wikimedia.org from an address associated with the website, who will provide a reference number that can be used to verify the permission. In the meantime, if you leave a post here from a registered username (not an IP address as per your last edit) I shall assume good faith, and reinstate the page. Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Lydden.jpg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Lydden.jpg fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Image:Lydden.jpg, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 02:40, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
Question
editHi, I just wanted to ask you a question about CAT:NC. I would like to help out with the backlog there rather than staying at CAT:CSD and the like however I am unsure of the criteria that must be met before deleting images there. Is it after 10 days of not edits/being tagged etc?. When using Bad Old Ones tool when is it OK to use the reasons there?. Thanks! --¤ The-G-Unit-฿oss ¤ 18:48, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Template:CanElec1 end
editA tag has been placed on Template:CanElec1 end requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.
If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).
Thanks. --MZMcBride (talk) 21:08, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
Re: Survivors Fund
editI was just wondering whether it would be possible to get any feedback on why the entry for Survivors Fund (SURF) was deleted? Any guidance that you could offer would be gratefully received, and whether it would be worthwhile recreating the page? If so, what we would then need to do differently to ensure that it is acceptable?
Any help gratefully received.
Kind regards,

edit[1] — Instead of warning the editor of page-blanking, you probably could have made some lives easier by just tagging the article for speedy deletion under G7, as that is basically a request that the creator wants the page deleted. Right now I am leaning towards prodding both articles if no sources come up and fast. MuZemike (talk) 01:09, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
Copyright issues; Duncan Ley
editHi. As thrilled as I am to see additional administrators hanging around WP:CP, I'm concerned about your restoration of this material to publication. The source page is not only not released by a license compatible with GFDL, but is explicitly reserved here: "Copyright ©1998-2008 Playscripts, Incorporated. All Rights Reserved". For legal reasons, we can't display this text. It either needs to be revised or removed. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 00:25, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
- I seem to have caught you just after you departed. Just my luck. :/ The infringement in this situation is minor, but it does exist. Several sentences are copied verbatim from the external source, which is against US copyright law as well as (of course) our copyright policy. It also violates our non-free content policy, in that it is not clearly marked as copied text and it is not necessary to use the copyrighted text to illustrate an idea or attribute a position. Since WP:C clearly indicates that we must "Never use materials that infringe the copyrights of others" because "This could create legal liabilities and seriously hurt the project" and since the contributors did not themselves take advantage of the time to revise, I'm going to go ahead and do so myself as recommended at Wikipedia:Copyright problems/Advice for admins. If you disagree that the use of material from this site constitutes a copyright infringement, please let me know, and we can seek additional feedback. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 00:42, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
- Still here, just doing other things. I agree the sections were copied, but in my view only insubstantial sections were taken which from my understanding is not a violation. Your solution is much better though, so certainly no complaints. Kcordina Talk 00:58, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
- Thought I'd missed you. :) I'm afraid that even if it is relatively minor, it's likely to be a problem unless the material is excluded, like official titles or lists of ingredients or the sorts of other things mentioned at [2]. The Supreme Court has deliberately set the creativity threshold for copyright very low, noting "even a slight amount will suffice. The vast majority of works make the grade quite easily, as they possess some creative spark, 'no matter how crude, humble, or obvious' it might be." Obviously shy of going to court, we can't be sure where the court would land on less serious matters, but when sentences are copied verbatim, it seems like a good idea to follow WP:C's exhortation to "If in doubt, write it yourself." Not that sometimes I wouldn't rather not be bothered. :/ I'm not at all kidding about being thrilled to see an additional admins hanging around CP. I know you've been there before, but sometimes it gets lonely there. :) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 01:14, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

Request for Participation in Wikipedia Research
editKcordina,
Your Request for Adminship (RfA) process was reviewed and studied by our research team at Carnegie Mellon University early in our project to gain insights into the process. We reviewed what voters discussed about your case, and what qualifications you brought to the table as a candidate. In total 50 cases were personally read and reviewed, and we based our further research questions in part on your case.
In continuing our research, I would like to personally invite you to participate in a survey we are conducting to get perspective from people who have participate in the RfA process. The survey will only take a few minutes of your time, and will aid furthering our understanding of online communities, and may assist in the development of tools to assist voters in making RfA evaluations. We are NOT attempting to spam anyone with this survey and are doing our best to be considerate and not instrusive in the Wikipedia community. The results of this survey are for academic research and are not used for any profit nor sold to any companies. We will also post our results back to the Wikipedia community.
This survey is part of an ongoing research project by students and faculty at the Carnegie Mellon University School of Computer Science and headed by Professor Robert Kraut.
Thank you!
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free comment on my talk page.

Hello Kcordina, this is a message from an automated bot to inform you that the page you created, Leurbost, has been marked for speedy deletion by User:81.152.129.11. This has been done because the page seems to be about a person, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant (see CSD). If you think the tag was placed in error, please add "{{hangon}}

Suspension of admin privileges due to inactivity
editFollowing a community discussion in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative privileges of users who have been inactive for one year, meaning administrators who have made neither any edits nor any logged actions in over one year. As a result of this discussion, your administrative privileges have been removed pending your return. If you wish to have these privileges reinstated, please post to the Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard and the userright will be restored per the re-sysopping process (i.e., as long as the attending bureaucrats are reasonably satisfied that your account has not been compromised and that your inactivity did not have the effect of evading scrutiny of any actions which might have led to sanctions). This removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon you in any way. We wish you the best in future endeavors, and thank you for your past administrative efforts. Notice of change
editHello. You are receiving this message because of a recent change to the administrator policy that alters what you were told at the time of your desysopping. The effect of the change is that you will not longer be able to request restoration of the tools because of your prior inactivity. You have until December 30, 2012 to request restoration or else the policy will prevent you from doing so in the future; you would need to seek a new WP:RFA. Until December 30, you can file a request at WP:BN for review by the crats. Thank you. MBisanz talk 04:22, 3 December 2012 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
