Rearranging the list - Maghreb

edit

Why are you rearranging the list (while mentioning something else in the edit summary)? M.Bitton (talk) 22:27, 17 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Shorted the Edit-Summary and forgot to include that change.
I changed the list by size of population, because its the most logical, especially since foremost Algeria, Morocco & Tunisia are considered part of the 'inner Maghreb'.
- Algeria
- Morocco
- Tunisia
- Libya
- Mauretania
- Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic Keksfresser12 (talk) 22:39, 17 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
Why would you do that? The alphabetical order is the one that makes sense. M.Bitton (talk) 22:42, 17 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
One definition of the Maghreb is focused around the Berber culture, which is found mostly in Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia.
For that reason also, I saw it as more logical to include those three first, while Libya, Mauretania and SADR are more on the edge. Both are good listing methods, so I am unsure. May start a talk regarding that. Keksfresser12 (talk) 22:45, 17 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
That's a terrible idea, though you're welcome to seek consensus for it. M.Bitton (talk) 22:46, 17 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
It's a question, what the term Maghreb should stand for. There is already North Africa describing the geopgrahical region, while Maghreb should have a focus on the culture/history of that particular region. Keksfresser12 (talk) 23:07, 17 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
