editThank you for your recent contributions. However, you need to be indicating where you are getting this information, or it may get reverted. Please at least leave a URL in square brackets [ ] just after the text you write to indicate where you got the information. If you do this, I will come by and expand the URL into a proper citation. - I left an answer to your original query on my site. Make sure when you leave someone a message that you put them on your watchlist at least until you get an answer, because the answer is usually placed with the question to keep them together. Again I apologize for not looking closer. I've been dealing recently with several editors who come in with lots of edits and just refuse to cite information (and when I go looking, many of the additions are wrong).
- I have gone through the Dallas Zoo article expanding citations and such this morning. It really needs to point to something (probably on the zoo site) that describes the main attractions, but I don't have time to do that right now. It's also in need of a History section if you know where an article on zoo history might be. If we add history and cite it reasonably well, the article would be C-class, maybe even B pretty easily. Again, you can either copy my citation format and fill it in when making new citations, or you can just leave the URL in square brackets, and I will come through and expand it. Thanks. I just re-rated as B-class. That doesn't mean we can't continue improving it. For instance, it would sure be nice if we could find more info aon the aquarium and either include it, or start a separate article. Good work! Don Lammers (talk) 18:41, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
- Hello Kevin1086. I saw your note on Donlammers talk page and I wanted to let you know that he hasn't edited since September as can be seen here [1]. I haven't heard anything so he may be on a wikibreak or may be retired from editing or he might respond to you tomorrow. I just wanted to make you aware that you might not get a response right away. Cheers. MarnetteD | Talk 01:29, 10 November 2013 (UTC)
Sorry I've been absent, but real life has a way of taking over when it needs to. I just took a quick look. It looks like this is getting close to where it could be pushed to GA. I have the following initial comments.
- We should move citations out of the lead. The lead should be a summary of the article, and thus supported elsewhere. I started by copying the first citation to the appropriate items in the infobox, but then realized that covering all of the statements that the citation currently handles would need a bit more thought, so left the original as well.
- The whole second paragraph is about attendance and/or the DZS. There should be a section in the article supporting this information, and that's where the citations should be. Depending on the material available, it might be expanded into two sections -- Attendance and DZS.
- I'd love to see a map. This would take a bit of work though, since scaling on the maps available on the site is rather "fanciful" when compared with Google Earth. For the Denver Zoo map I dug up the USGS maps of the area to reference, since they are not copyrighted.
Remember that once a GA reviewer takes the article on, you will have about two weeks to address their comments, and will need to be actively working on it during that time. So make sure you and the other editors are going to have some time to deal with it before posting it for GA review. As long as I know about when it's coming, I will try to help out as much as I can. WikiProject Zoo
editI would like to know if you are still an active participant in the WP:ZOO, If you are please confirm by way of responding on my talk page and or Wikipedia:WikiProject Zoo/Members. I am just trying to get an idea of how many people are still engaged in the project as to better work out how to manage and address things that are listed in the project. Kind Regards Dan Koehl (talk) 10:42, 2 December 2014 (UTC)
Project Zoo
editI write to you regarding Wikipedia:WikiProject Zoo/Members where you are presently listed under active members. The project is sadly rather inactive and in severe need of active members. Maybe you would kindly consider investing some efforts and time, as well as inspiring others? best regards, Dan Koehl (talk) 18:45, 29 September 2015 (UTC)
