edit

Hello, I'm Throast. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Tulsi Gabbard, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! Throast {{ping}} me! (talk | contribs) 18:43, 26 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Well, this was my first attempt at an entry and I thought I had covered it well enough. The Bhagavad Gita and Bhagavad-Gītā As It Is are separate texts and it seems that few people, including bona fide journalists, are familiar with with Hinduism in a way that they can draw the distinction. Throughout her life and in her campaigns she has been involved with a small offshoot of Hare Krishna called "Science of Identity". I ran across this in a number of places but the like I provided was to a video produced by Tulsi Gabbard where she shows the book "As it is" and spends a good 20-30 minutes talking about it.
My assumption was that if the previous statement that was there was based on a single source and the writer of that article simply wasn't aware of the difference in the two titles or what they represent and why. I felt that a video produced by Tulsi, featuring Tulsi, where she is the primary "star" of the video, and in the video she named the entire title of "As it is" multiple times as well as showing the book title while saying it several times, it made a much more reliable source than what is there now. In that same video she Tulsi publicly acknowledged her guru-dev to be Siddhaswarupananda Paramahamsa, Chris Butler despite more recent statements that she doesn't really know him.
With that said, it's not that important to me that I be correct here. I'm one of those level-headed non-partisan science-types that friends and family spanning both major parties have trouble understanding. I suspect the culprit to be an inability to put themselves in the shoes of another. lol
So if you have any guidance in regards to future edits, I am just now getting to a point in my life where I have time to contribute to the project. Any guidance you could offer would be greatly appreciated.
