User talk:Kges1901/2017/August
Thank you for filling in some of these oddly numbered, high numbered ARNG regiments!! Does the numbering, you think, have anything to do with the 748th Tank Battalion? Was the 748th Tank Battalion raised from Georgia? Buckshot06 (talk) 20:24, 4 August 2017 (UTC)
- According to Yeide, 748th TB (one of the American CDL units) was activated at Rucker in 1942. I have no idea about the numbering. Kges1901 (talk) 20:49, 4 August 2017 (UTC)

District Training Center at Elanskyy
editCan I yank you back to Sov/Russian stuff to check https://russiandefpolicy.blog/2017/08/06/an-ordinary-conflict/ this out? Do you believe this is the 473rd District Training Centre? Also you might be interested, or consider commenting, at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Johnvr4/Operation Red Hat. Cheers Buckshot06 (talk) 07:07, 18 August 2017 (UTC)
- @Buckshot06: It is the 473rd, the MUN matches up. I'll be back to the Soviet/Russian stuff after I return Sawicki to the library in a week. Kges1901 (talk) 09:01, 18 August 2017 (UTC)
- Well thanks for requesting and borrowing Sawicki!! There's a whole lot of gaps you've filled. Where did you source the MUN for the 473 DTC? Buckshot06 (talk) 09:04, 18 August 2017 (UTC)
- Also, I failed to list both pages of the MfD and you may consider commenting/voting at the consolidated, replacement Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/OpRedHat Buckshot06 (talk) 09:07, 18 August 2017 (UTC)
- voinskayachast says the MUN is 31612, along Russian media such as this Komsomolskaya Pravda article. Kges1901 (talk) 09:11, 18 August 2017 (UTC)

Apropos
editmy edit comment here, could illuminate me on that? If so, perhaps a separate artcile on the type of an army is called for?Axxxion (talk) 20:12, 26 August 2017 (UTC)
- A combined arms army is simply a field army that is combined arms. Information on the Russian concept could probably go on either. Pingining @Buckshot06: for more input. Kges1901 (talk) 20:28, 26 August 2017 (UTC)
- Ok. Thanks. But my question was mostly: is it a new concept for Soviet/Russia armed forces?Axxxion (talk) 21:06, 26 August 2017 (UTC)
- No, it is not a new concept, the new combined arms armies created now don't appear to differ from those created before. Kges1901 (talk) 21:08, 26 August 2017 (UTC)
- Not a new type, for information look at the Inside the Soviet Army article link, to the text of the book. Also List of Soviet armies. The new article for the 8th Guards Army (Russia) needs to be merged to the previous 8th Guards Army article - same formation with same lineage. Should you have a moment Kges1901 you may wish to consider putting that on your to-do list. Buckshot06 (talk) 00:33, 27 August 2017 (UTC)

- Thanks, folks. As for the merger, I actually took the levity to do that, already: 8th Combined Arms Army (Russia).Axxxion (talk) 20:09, 30 August 2017 (UTC)
