Rescuing dead links
edit- Maybe it's just the way different minds work, but it seems to me that when adding an archived link to rescue a dead URL, the access date should be the date the archive was accessed, not the date (if given) the original web page was accessed. To see what I'm talking about, take a look at 414th Fighter Group's references. Somehow, an access date of 14 September 2013 for a URL created on 18 August 2016 (the archive date) seems inconsistent. Any thoughts? --Lineagegeek (talk) 23:40, 9 January 2017 (UTC)
- I don't see an inconsistency here because the archived page is pretty much the same as it was on the original access date in most of these cases. However, if you want to change the dates, I won't oppose. Kges1901 (talk) 09:57, 10 January 2017 (UTC)

For 16th Guards Tank Division. Urrrraaahhhhh!! Buckshot06 (talk) 11:00, 11 January 2017 (UTC) |
Great work as always Kges1901. If the 55th RD was disbanded in the mid 1950s, when and how did the 55th Naval Infantry Division in the Pacific reform? Buckshot06 (talk) 15:14, 11 January 2017 (UTC)
- @Buckshot06: Feskov et al 2013 has an entire section (Appendix 4.9) about the 55th Naval Infantry Division. It was formed in 1968 at Vladivostok, and if I read the translation right, in Chapter 4, Section 2, Feskov claims that the 55th Naval Infantry did not inherit the lineage of the 55th RD, despite veterans' claims. Kges1901 (talk) 09:38, 12 January 2017 (UTC)
- That has parallels in the West. Reuse of a related designation (the number 55, which did have a sea service riflemen association), but not formal assignment of the lineage. Many of the ordinary rifle division numbers would have been available for reuse. I would probably put, if you have any priorities available in your work queue, the current 155th Guards Red Banner Naval Infantry Brigade in the Pacific first, and then we can use that as a home for added data on the 55 NID December 1967-1 June 2009 (http://www.ww2.dk/new/navy/55dmp.htm) at some point. Cheers and many thanks for your hard work as always, Buckshot06 (talk) 12:37, 13 January 2017 (UTC)

There may be more appropriate Barnstars, but I thought you should receive one more rarely awarded. I think your action meets the requirement for this one. --Lineagegeek (talk) 23:55, 23 January 2017 (UTC)

Review Question
editHello, Kges1901. I noticed you recently reviewed the article Battle of Gawakuke. I'm still new around Wikipedia, so I don't completely understand the review process, but would you mind letting me know what prevented the article from getting a B-Class rating? According to the previous reviewer, the only problem with it was the citation style, which I believe I've corrected. If not, could you explain to me how exactly to do that. Thanks, Washoe the Wise (talk) 00:20, 25 January 2017 (UTC)
