User talk:Kharkiv07/Archives/2015/December

Hi! You have closed the subject AfD as NPASR, eventually keeping the article. WP:NOQUORUM gives several options for such closures where no one has participated and few options of those can be done only by administrators; like soft delete or delete. So I guess such a closure should be done by admins only. What say? §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {Talk / Edits} 07:40, 1 December 2015 (UTC)

@Dharmadhyaksha: I closed it with the thought that it would benefit from more discussion before getting to the other levels outlined at WP:NOQUORUM, as is left to the discretion of the closure at the same page. That being said, I'd be happy to rescind the closure if you feel that is necessary. Cheers! Kharkiv07 (T) 13:13, 1 December 2015 (UTC)
To get more discussion i will have to restart a fresh nomination. Then why not relist it rather than closing. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {Talk / Edits} 15:51, 1 December 2015 (UTC)
Per WP:RELIST, AfDs shouldn't be relisted more than twice, save extraordinary circumstances. Kharkiv07 (T) 17:00, 1 December 2015 (UTC)
We do have Category:AfD debates relisted 3 or more times. Anyways... Will AfD it once again after some days. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {Talk / Edits} 01:09, 2 December 2015 (UTC)

Draft:Thomas J. Carroll

Hi User:Kharkiv07 User talk:Kharkiv07, Back in March, you helped me get my first Wiki article accepted. Thanks again. I'm working on my second article Draft:Thomas J. Carroll and would appreciate a quick view and suggestions on a) should I request someone new to accept / reject my article and/or b) what I should do in order to make it acceptable. (Suggestions for general improvements are always welcome). Note, regarding Thomas Carroll's general notability, perhaps I went too far in making the article in a neutral tone. He was clearly a pioneer in methods for training and rehabilitating the blind (just Google "thomas carroll pioneer blind"), but how do you say that without using adjectives like "pioneer"? Thanks!! RobSVA (talk) 15:55, 1 December 2015 (UTC)

@RobSVA: I'll take have a look and get back to you. Kharkiv07 (T) 17:01, 1 December 2015 (UTC)

Article for deletion

Hi, I listed an article for deletion that has been deleted before in 2011, then created again, then listed for deletion in 2014 and an SPA editor removed the tags before the discussion was completed. I've tried to list it again but because there's an existing discussion, it's not listing in the way I wanted it to. Can you assist please? article and discussion and diff when discussion removed by this editor. thanks Rayman60 (talk) 01:47, 13 December 2015 (UTC)

I created a nomination here. Kharkiv07 (T) 01:56, 13 December 2015 (UTC)

Welcome to the arbitration clerk team

Hi Kharkiv07. We have officially added you to the list of clerks. Welcome, and I look forward to working with you! To adjust your subscription options for the mailing list, see the link at mail:clerks-l. The mailing list works in the usual way, and the address to which new mailing list threads can be sent is clerks-l lists.wikimedia.org. Useful reading for new clerks is the procedures page, WP:AC/C/P, but you will learn all the basic components of clerking on-the-job.

New clerks begin as a trainee, are listed as such at WP:AC/C#Personnel, and will remain so until they have learned all the aspects of the job. When you've finished training, which usually takes a couple of/a few months, then we'll propose to the Committee that you be made a full clerk. As a clerk, you'll need to check your e-mail regularly, as the mailing list is where the clerks co-ordinate (an on-wiki co-ordination page also exists but is not used nearly as much). If you've any questions at any point of your traineeship, simply post to the mailing list.

Lastly, it might be useful if you enter your timezone into WP:AC/C#Personnel (in the same format as the other members have), so that we can estimate when we will have clerks available each day; this is, of course, at your discretion. Again, welcome! Regards, Callanecc (talkcontribslogs) 08:46, 13 December 2015 (UTC)

WP:PERM Request

Hello. Your account has been granted the "massmessage-sender" user right, allowing you to send messages to multiple users at once. A few important things to note:

  • Messages should only be sent to groups of users who are likely to be interested in the topic.
  • For regular mailings such as those for WikiProjects, localized events, or newsletters, users should be informed of how they can unsubscribe from future mailings.
  • The mass messaging tool should never be used for canvassing with the intention of influencing the outcome of discussions.

For information, refer to the guidance for use. If you do not want mass message sender rights anymore, just let me or any other administrator know and we will remove it. Thank you and happy editing! — xaosflux Talk 17:00, 16 December 2015 (UTC)

Outside of your request to use this for clerking purposes, please ensure that you only use this tool in accordance with the community guidelines. — xaosflux Talk 17:00, 16 December 2015 (UTC)

CVUA & NPP

@Kharkiv07: thanks for getting back to me. While I've been doing new-page patrolling a lot, I would like you to continue training me on counter-vandalism work. The reason is because while NPP does not require special permissions to be granted by admins to be fully utilized, the same cannot be said for CUV: as I've reiterated before, I cannot use tools like HUGGLE until an admin grants me the rollback permission, which I've been denied twice before. Saying that, would it be possible if I can complete my CVUA training so that I can prove myself to an admin who will be willing to grant rollback upon request? <<< SOME GADGET GEEK >>> (talk) 23:45, 6 December 2015 (UTC)
@Some Gadget Geek: Great, we'll jump back into it. You've been using STiki, wanna stay with that? Kharkiv07 (T) 01:44, 7 December 2015 (UTC)
Sure thing, thanks. I've been granted the right to use AWB already, so why not HUGGLE? Oh, and I'd also like to work towards getting reviewer and autopatrol user rights. <<< SOME GADGET GEEK >>> (talk) 23:37, 7 December 2015 (UTC)
See WP:HATSHOP. I don't see any reason as to why you should have autopatrolled rights, I'd work on one thing at a time. However, if you want to work on STiki, we can start on that. Kharkiv07 (T) 01:42, 8 December 2015 (UTC)
Well, according to the RFP page for autopatrolled rights,

Applicants who have created fewer than 25 new articles excluding redirects and disambiguation pages are unlikely to be granted this right.

— WP:RFP/A
As most of my new pages are redirects and/or user talk pages, does this mean I not qualify to get this permission, so that all my new pages, even user talk pages, just to leave user warnings about vandalism, have to be patrolled by others (such as those who have recently finished CVUA training with Titodutta? <<< SOME GADGET GEEK >>> (talk) 22:51, 8 December 2015 (UTC)
Correct, your total number of non-redirects in the article space needs to be greater than 25 and show that you have a complete understanding of Wikipedia's content and style policies. Kharkiv07 (T) 13:13, 9 December 2015 (UTC)
So I've got to start creating new full-blown articles then? Sure, I'll do that. In the meantime, would it be possible to restore my CVUA page and continue where we left off? <<< SOME GADGET GEEK >>> (talk) 22:46, 9 December 2015 (UTC)
 Y Updated. Kharkiv07 (T) 02:54, 12 December 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for your effort in keeping my CVUA going! I've made numerous Stiki edits (check my edit history), of which the first ten now appear on my CVUA page. What's next? <<< SOME GADGET GEEK >>> (talk) 21:17, 22 December 2015 (UTC)

CVA Training

Hello there, I'd like to request training for the Counter Vandalism Academy please. --Giooo95 (talk) 06:16, 11 December 2015 (UTC)

Hi! Unfortunately, I think you may be a tad bit new for CVUA training. That being said, even if you are ready, I'm unfortunately full for my trainees, perhaps you could take a look at some other trainers? Cheers! Kharkiv07 (T) 15:16, 11 December 2015 (UTC)

Yes I am new but I'm eager to learn. Ah alright, thank you anyway, I'll see if I can find another trainer. --Giooo95 (talk) 15:49, 11 December 2015 (UTC)

Hi Kharkiv, as a heads up, I've noticed that you have also left MarkYabloko's CVUA page alone for quite some time too. Since you're one of only two active trainers listed at WP:CVUA, and considering the fact that MarkYabloko has been inactive for almost a month now, would it be possible to put his CVUA aside in order to attend to these new request for training? Thanks so much for your consideration, <<< SOME GADGET GEEK >>> (talk) 21:20, 22 December 2015 (UTC)
I'll mark his inactive, and take a look at yours. Kharkiv07 (T) 20:24, 24 December 2015 (UTC)

Please take things slow as you start out. You have a lot of irons in the fire. Work on one task at a time so you don't confuse things. DocTree (ʞlɐʇ·ʇuoɔ) WER 20:03, 30 December 2015 (UTC)

ACC tool access request approved

Kharkiv07, thank you for your interest in the account creation process. I have verified that you are identified to the Wikimedia Foundation and approved your request.

You may now access the interface here pending a tool root marking your account as identified in the tool database. Before you begin handling requests, please ensure you have read and understood the account creation guide and username policy to familiarise yourself with the process.

Please subscribe yourself to the private ACC mailing list following the instructions on that page. I also advise that you also join us on IRC #wikipedia-en-accounts connect where a bot informs us when new account requests come in and you can get real time advice on how to handle requests.

Please note failure to correctly assess requests will result in suspension of tool access. Account creation is not a race, and each one should be handled diligently and thoroughly. Releasing personally identifying information (such as IP and email addresses), whether intentionally or unintentionally, is treated very seriously and will generally result in immediate suspension.

Currently you are allowed to create up to six accounts per day, and you won't be able to create an account with a similar name to that of another user; these requests are marked as "Flagged user needed" on the interface. However, if you reach the limit frequently, you can request the account creator permission at WP:PERM/ACC.

Please don't hesitate to get in touch with me if you have any questions. Thank you for participating in the account creation process. Again welcome!  DocTree (ʞlɐʇ·ʇuoɔ) WER 20:03, 30 December 2015 (UTC)
