Hello Kholodovsky! Welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

This is NOT some automated message...it's from a real person. You can talk to me right now. I noticed you've just joined, and wanted to give you a few tips to get you started. If you have any questions, please talk to us. The tips below should help you to get started. Best of luck! — Mariah-Yulia • Talk to me! 19:55, 8 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

  • You don't need to read anything - anybody can edit; just go to an article and edit it. Be Bold, but please don't put silly stuff in - it will be removed very quickly, and will annoy people.
  • Ask for help. Talk to us live, or edit this page, put {{helpme}} and describe what help you need. Someone will reply very quickly - usually within a few minutes.
  • Edit existing articles, before you make your own. Look at some subjects that you know about, and see if you can make them a bit better. For example, Wikipedia:Cleanup#2009.
  • When you're ready, read about Your first article. It should be about something well-known, and it will need references.

Good luck with editing; please drop me a line some time on my own talk page.

If you are interested in Ukraine-related themes, you may want to check out the Ukraine Portal , particularly the Portal:Ukraine/New article announcements and Portal:Ukraine/Ukraine-related Wikipedia notice board. The New article announcements board is probably the most important and the most attended one. Please don't forget to announce there the new articles you create. Adding both boards to your watchlist is probably a good idea. You can also join WikiProject Ukraine, a tool to help perfect the Ukrainian related articles on the English Wikipedia. We would be glad to have you as a member of WikiProject Ukraine!

Want to know more?

I think it could be handy for you to browse through some of the links below so as to become more familiar with how Wikipedia works. If you need any help you can ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and another Wikipedian will show up shortly. Please remember to sign your name on talk pages by clicking   or by typing four tildes "~~~~"; this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you're already loving Wikipedia and plan on becoming a Wikipedian you might consider being "adopted" by a more experienced editor, just paste {{Adoptme}} into your userpage and you will gladly be adopted! You might also consider joining a WikiProject so as to collaborate with others in creating and improving articles of your interest. Click here for a directory of all the WikiProjects. Articles on Russian diplomats

edit

Hello Kholodovsky,

Firstly, Welcome to Wikipedia! So, I see you've created quite a few new articles on Russian diplomats. Great! You've found your niche. However, there seem to be a problem. On Wikipedia, pretty much everything has to be attributed. It'd be good practice to include a reference at the end of every sentence or, if you got an entire paragraph from one source, include the citation at the end of the paragraph. Biographies of living persons are particularly dangerous and must be cited. Additionally, please don't link dates. -> March 29, 1955 <-- Wholly unnecessary. Once again, welcome to Wikipedia. I hope this advice helps you grow as an editor and looking forward to more well cited ;P article.s. Thanks, --ceradon (talkcontribs) 10:33, 13 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Ways to improve Borys Babin

edit

Hi, I'm Boleyn. Kholodovsky, thanks for creating Borys Babin!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. There are sources, but those in an article on living people should be WP:INLINECITED.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Deletion discussion about Yaroslava Plaviuk

edit

Hello, Kholodovsky,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Slatersteven and it's nice to meet you :-)

I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Yaroslava Plaviuk should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Yaroslava Plaviuk .

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not ballot-polls. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Slatersteven}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Sorry but that is irrelevant, if it is significant, its significance would have been noted. Thus she would have material about her, not about her husband in which she has a passing mention (for example Eleanor Roosevelt).Slatersteven (talk) 14:05, 10 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you.
