Looking briefly at this book, Davidgoodheart, it seems superfluous to the topic as it is focusing (from the existing content) about how the author directed a film? Which Wiki. has an article about? ("The book has been the subject of two or more non-trivial published works appearing in sources that are independent of the book itself. This can include published works in all forms, such as newspaper articles, other books, television documentaries...?") I agree loosely with this observation/rule, but if I wished I could use this rule as justification for creation of Wiki. articles re: books upon the certainly more infamous true crime cases I researched going all the way back to the 1910s or 1920s, and articles and documentaries-even obscure ones-which can be found online in the years since... I also worry "fandom" of the topics of music or celebrities in particular could use this as an excuse for the creation of largely irrelevant articles. Surprised (but, agree weakly) the consensus was to keep in this instance. Sorry I didnae reply in time to offer my own opinion. Seems weight would have been against me anyhow. Thanks, Davidgoodheart. Added my vote on the article you listed. I think the sentimental overtones are the reason this may have raised a few eyebrows? Perhaps also it needs expanding and not just content regarding his military service, death, and posthumous recognition? Reading the article you listed, made me think for some reason of this article regarding a subject's military achievements, the circumstances surrounding his death, and the way he has been remembered. I do not say this in any dismissive or disrespectful manner, but I sense too much emotion in the tone of the Mendez article by comparison to the Rescorla one (even though there is a lot of pertinent information). This in addition to the overall content of the Rescorla article by comparison. Both are noteworthy, of course.--Kieronoldham (talk) 04:09, 25 January 2021 (UTC)

So why lie??

How am I lying about Walker County Jane Doe being from South Texas? She literally claimed to be from there. So not only are you calling me a liar but the victim as well. Might as well call a rape victim a liar as well.--Fruitloop11 (talk) 11:19, 28 January 2021 (UTC)

No need to take issue. Did you read the edit explanation from myself, or the earlier explanation from Gourami Watcher? A runaway wants to sever ties to his/her past. Assuming the eyewitness recollections were actually correct, she may have been from South Texas, and it is included in the article. She may have lied; she may not. The eyewitnesses may have been mistaken; they may not. Walker County Jane Doe could equally be from anywhere else and investigators, quite rightly, are keeping an open mind and not devoting sole resources to one section of one state. It is in no way disrespectful to keep an open mind about where an unidentified decedent may be from.--Kieronoldham (talk) 00:16, 29 January 2021 (UTC)

I am not taking an issue. This case is important to a lot of people including myself. I am doing what I can to help this girl be identified. The victim’s statements are considered Vital information otherwise it would not have been mentioned in her case. Adding “possibly from south texas” is in no way saying she is confirmed to be from that area.--Fruitloop11 (talk) 01:41, 29 January 2021 (UTC)

I hope she is identified too. I and one or two others spent a lot of time researching and populating the article a few years back. I think that adding that to the infobox adds unnecessary weight, and may detract even the casual web sleuth from looking at other avenues of possibility. Ok then, please add The Stolero-Yachman-Chachkes killer to List of fugitives from justice who disappeared. The Stolero-Yachman-Chachkes killer is an unidentified serial killer who is wanted for three murders that took place in Israel between November 1962 and July 1963.
