Edit summaries

edit

Hi there, when you made this edit summary on Eurovision Song Contest 2013 you described the action of the other user as vandalism when in fact it was not vandalism at all. The user made an alteration based on what was advised via the article's talk page. Making serious accusative summaries like that can be distressing to the user it is aimed at. Please be more cautious in future, and if in doubt just assume the edit was made in error. May I suggest that you post an apology to the user you accused so that they don't feel as upset by it all. Thank you - WesleyMouse 22:39, 27 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

I have deleted this template under speedy deletion criteria T2, on grounds that it misrepresents established policy. This template appeared to be intended to be used as a content disclaimer in articles, which is not permitted, as everything is covered by official disclaimers such as the general disclaimer and the content disclaimer. Orphaned non-free media (File:New wave logo.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading File:New wave logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:25, 2 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Guillemet

edit

Please don't put guillemet quotes around organization names. Quotes are not placed around organization names in English in any case, and this particular type of quote mark isn't used in English at all and is likely to cause confusion among readers. Editors have asked you not do this in edit summaries three times and on the talk page once - please keep an eye on the article history and talk page as well. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited New Wave 2012, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Sade (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
