Welcome!
editHi, and welcome to the Military history WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to military history.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Our navigation box points to most of the useful pages within the project.
- The announcement and open task box is updated very frequently. You can watchlist it if you're interested; or, you can add it directly to your user page by including {{WPMILHIST Announcements}} there.
- Most important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
- The project has several departments, which handle article quality assessment, detailed article and content review, writing contests, article logistics, and other tasks.
- We have a number of task forces that focus on specific topics, nations, periods, and conflicts.
- We've developed a style guide that covers article structure and content, template use, categorization, and many other issues of interest.
- If you're looking for something to work on, there are many articles that need attention.
- The project has a stress hotline available for your use.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask one of the project coordinators, or any experienced member of the project, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! Kirill 07:17, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
Your recent edits
editHi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 20:44, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

editEdited anything yet? JoshuaKuo (talk) 00:00, 26 April 2008 (UTC)JoshuaKuo
Yeah man I've edited a lot of stuff on battles and some random things (you can view it on history) I still need help on those gadget things you have though, the ones that say you are a native speaker of English, live in Canada etc.Knerlo 01:15, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
If you want more userboxes, go to [[1]], scroll down, and you will see Wikiproject Userboxes. Go into any of those, and just paste the code beside the userboxes. JoshuaKuo (talk) 19:24, 27 April 2008 (UTC)JoshuaKuo
Never mind, I added the userbox of "I am a native speaker of English" to your userpage already. If you want other userboxes, follow the steps above. Have fun. JoshuaKuo (talk) 19:28, 27 April 2008 (UTC)JoshuaKuo
Okay thanks man. I'm gonna go nuts on those userboxes now.--Knerlo 23:50, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
Tannenburg Edits
editI reverted your edits on the Teutonic forces as you did not cite where you found the numbers, thus I changed them back to what the article later states. With historical battles such as this that are often part of modern propaganda, one has to be extra careful that someone editing the page isn't doing so for an ulterior motive. I apologize if you've found the numbers to be legitimate. However, because of this discrepancy, it might be better to talk about it on the discussion page, as the accepted number of Teutonic Knights at the battle was significantly lower than the one you offered. Cheers, MagicBear (talk) 02:49, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
Okay thank you for your input, I have posted sections to discuss on the Battle of Tannenburg, Wikiproject Military History(General), and Wikiproject Military History(Russian). If you have any comments and concerns with any of the things I do please tell me so that I can go back to the sources and see if something may be incorrect or out of place. Thanks.--Knerlo 16:16, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

New 10,000 Challenge for Canada
editHi, Wikipedia:WikiProject Canada/The 10,000 Challenge is up and running based on Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge for the UK which has currently produced over 2300 article improvements and creations. If you'd like to see large scale quality improvements happening for Canada like The Africa Destubathon, which has produced over 1600 articles in 5 weeks, sign up on the page. The idea will be an ongoing national editathon/challenge for Canada but fuelled by a contest such as The North America Destubathon to really get articles on every province and subject mass improved. I would like some support from Canadian wikipedians here to get the Challenge off to a start with some articles to make doing a Destubathon worthwhile! Cheers. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:55, 22 November 2016 (UTC)

"Military history" is one of the most important subjects when speak of sum of all human knowledge. To support contributors interested in the area over various language Wikipedias, we intend to form a user group. It also provides a platform to share the best practices between military historians, and various military related projects on Wikipedias. An initial discussion was has been done between the coordinators and members of WikiProject Military History on English Wikipedia. Now this discussion has been taken to Meta-Wiki. Contributors intrested in the area of military history are requested to share their feedback and give suggestions at Talk:Discussion to incubate a user group for Wikipedia Military Historians.
