You don't have some clear policy on what is acceptable to post. Why is a draft which was created with the assistance by a volunteer not good for publishing. You clearly are retaliating for me fighting back at your harassment and bullying which is a clear violation of your own policy. KnowItGirl67 (talk) 01:47, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Nickie Kane

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Nickie Kane, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. DoubleGrazing (talk) 06:22, 10 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Why was this deleted? I was asking for help to get it published. I can't even see my draft anymore. KnowItGirl67 (talk) 01:37, 11 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
It has been deleted (again) as hopelessly promotional, and blocked from recreation to avoid this problem in the future. --Orange Mike | Talk 17:32, 11 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Is orange mike a reference to Donald Trump? How can an article which was created with the help of a "volunteer" be deleted? Because these volunteers are clearly immature children and Wikipedia needs to stop violating it's own policy of harassment. KnowItGirl67 (talk) 01:30, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Please stop trying to promote yourself, Wikipedia is not the platform for that. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 06:28, 10 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

How is this promotional material? This is a candidate for election listed in an existing article. This article expands on that person. KnowItGirl67 (talk) 01:41, 11 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Your recent editing history at 2023 New York City Council election shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. — NZFC(talk)(cont) 02:46, 11 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

I'm working on a draft. Seems like you volunteers have power trip issues and need to get a life. KnowItGirl67 (talk) 03:35, 11 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Then finish your draft first before you bother to war about having your own name in red link. From what I can see, your first was promotional and unless there is some good references out there, you are unlikely to meet WP:POLITICIAN. Being an elected local official doesn't mean you are notable, let along in this case just being a candidate for office.— NZFC(talk)(cont) 03:51, 11 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Please stop attacking other editors. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. Acroterion (talk) 03:44, 11 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Your editors behavior borders on harassment and cyber bullying. How do I get in touch with your legal department. KnowItGirl67 (talk) 03:58, 11 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
See m:Wikimedia Foundation Legal department for information on how to contact WMF Legal. Note that if you do intend to follow through with a lawsuit, you are very likely to be blocked - either from this project or all Wikimedia Foundation-run projects - to prevent you jeopardising your case. —Jéské Couriano v^_^v Source assessment notes 06:08, 11 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article, or a draft for a Wikipedia article, about yourself. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Declaration made. KnowItGirl67 (talk) 04:00, 11 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
I don’t see where you’ve asked Liz about the deletion. In any case, I concur with the deletion - Wikipedia isn’t a free webhost for campaign promotion. This is one of the many reasons why autobiographies are almost always deleted, it is too hard to write a neutrally worded discussion of one’s own life for an encyclopedia, or to neutrally assess one’s own notability with respect to the encyclopedia’s guidelines for biographies, auto and otherwise. Candidates for local office are explicitly not notable in nearly every case. But you are certainly welcome to politely ask her for her own views. Acroterion (talk) 04:10, 11 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Your review process clearly needs help. I don't see teh purpose of deleting a unpublished draft other than to harass someone. KnowItGirl67 (talk) 04:17, 11 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
I also don't see where Liz is referenced so I can reply. KnowItGirl67 (talk) 04:18, 11 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Since you started a new draft at the same title it doesn't show up in the history as plainly [1] now. Liz may be contacted at User talk:Liz. She's one of our most careful and helpful administrators. Promotion is not permitted in any part of Wikipedia, draft or otherwise, and is generally deleted or flagged for deletion on sight. I believe your present draft has dealt with that concern, and you've declared your COI, so the effort now would be to find significant coverage in reliable sources that supports a case for inclusion. Acroterion (talk) 12:15, 11 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

If you have a dispute with the content of any page on Wikipedia, please follow the proper channels for dispute resolution. Advice

edit

Hi, I will give you some (unsolicited) advice; please take it in the constructive spirit in which it is intended.

Firstly, you seem to be under the impression that you have some sort of automatic entitlement to write about yourself or any other subject on Wikipedia. This is not so. Unlike eg. LinkedIn, where anyone can create their own 'profile', here we only accept articles on subjects which are deemed 'notable' in Wikipedia terms. If you write about a subject which is clearly non-notable, or where notability has not been demonstrated, it will not be accepted, and may be deleted. This is not a case of anyone 'harassing' you, it is a case of applying Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

Secondly, Wikipedia is not a place for an 'upcoming' anyone or anything to be promoted. We are never the first channel to report on something, as we by definition only publish content which summarises what other, reliable sources have previously said about a subject. In other words, Wikipedia cannot be used to build anyone's reputation; it only reflects a reputation already built elsewhere; this applies equally to 'upcoming' politicians, artists, athletes, academics, etc., as well as to businesses, products, music, and so on. If your objective here is to 'spread awareness' or 'let the world know about' a subject, although it might not feel to you 'promotional', that is indeed how Wikipedia sees it. (You may wish to quickly read this essay, which explains it: WP:YESPROMO.)

Thirdly, you are clearly frustrated by the problems you have experienced in getting an article published (or rather not). I understand how this can be disappointing, but the answer is not to start lashing out, making accusations and threats, and assuming that there is some great conspiracy against you. The answer is to try to take in the advice, to understand what is being said to you (by several different editors, including multiple administrators) and why, and to work with the system rather than against it. I say this not least because, if you carry out the way you have, you may get yourself sanctioned, and that isn't in anyone's interest.

Thank you for reading, and I hope this helps at least in some small way. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 06:30, 11 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Take your advice and fax it to someone who cares. Harassment is against your site policy and violating your own policy is usually not a good idea. KnowItGirl67 (talk) 01:32, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

To whom it may concern,
I have experienced harassment and cyber bullying on your platform “Wikipedia.”
You seem to have a “volunteer” led platform editing. In the process of creating and editing an article volunteers have been hostile and aggressive in their treatment. Instead of helping me made correction to help my article get published they has engaged in harassing behavior including deleting my page after I asked for help on improving it.
This is harassment and cyber bullying and directly violated your policy. See that cease and desists or legal action will be taken.
Please make sure no content is deleted, altered, modified, removed, or otherwise disposed of as of the day of this letter. This would constitute unlawful destruction of evidence. KnowItGirl67 (talk) 01:44, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

I am the sole surviving member of the old Tennessee Valley Local of the Socialist Party U.S.A., and was later a candidate for National Secretary of the SP. I was the Democratic nominee for the Tennessee General Assembly in my home town in 1970. I was a presidential elector candidate for Barry Commoner in 1980, and Sonia Johnson in 1984. "Conservative" is not an accusation usually hurled at me by anybody but tankies. I was "Orange Mike" when Trump still posed as a pro-choice Democrat.

Considering the perpetual complaints about Wikipedia's "Liberal Bias," that bit did take me by surprise. I was a local DEC member way back when. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 16:48, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
As the token conservative in the admin corps, perhaps that shot should have been directed at me. That said, I left the Republican Party in 2016 over Trump and haven't really looked back. The GOP has gone off the rails and is no longer the party of Calvin Coolidge, Dwight Eisenhower or Reagan. I will refrain from further comment out of respect for FORUM and the fact that his user's TPA has been revoked. -Ad Orientem (talk) 17:26, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
