Thank you for that article. When you create a new Poland-related article, please list it at Portal:Poland/New article announcements, so we can help with fleshing it out. You may also want to use Polish letters (i.e. Radziwiłł instead of Radziwill).--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus Talk 18:33, 2 May 2006 (UTC)

editHi,
He's not generally regarded Polish and he doesn't declare himself Polish either. Guenther Grass says he's German. Kpjas 18:03, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
Stewart
editOf course she is of Polish descent/Polish-American. But we need a source that just calls her "Polish" if we are to put her on an actual list of Poles. Mad Jack 15:59, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
- No, I know that. Your source doesn't call her "Polish". THat's what it needs to do for her to be on the list of Polish people (i.e. as opposed to the list of Polish-Americans). Mad Jack 17:24, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
- Oh, and Iggy Pop is not Polish at all (the IMDB is full of fan-submitted junk information and should not be used as a source). According to this full-length book biography, searchable online,[1] - Iggy Pop is Irish and English on his father's side (his father was adopted by a Swedish-American family, hence the name) and Danish and Norwegian on his mother's. Cheers... Mad Jack 17:36, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
Wallington, New Jersey ancestry info
editWhat is the source for the Wallington, New Jersey ancestry info you added, and which you are adding to other articles? A source should always be indicated and this would be helpful for Walington and other municipalities. Alansohn 17:49, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
Ancestries
editI note that you are adding information on ancestries to various city articles. Please take a moment to ensure that the articles you are linking to are actually articles about the relevant ethnic groups; for example, Germans or German American rather than German; French people rather than French, and so forth. Thanks for your contributions to Wikipedia! --Russ (talk) 16:56, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

List of Polish Jews
editYour help is needed in preventing the addition of unsourced names to the list. The tagged names like Wocjciech Jerzy Has and Michał Waszyński have stayed on the list unreferenced for weeks now. I tried to get others to look for what I couldn't find by making a comment on Source on the talk page. I was ignored. These names can not stay forever as some people wish. 141.213.211.73 02:10, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Hi. I see you added Benny Begin to this category. Although his father Menachem was indeed Polish (albeit born in Belarus), Benny is a Sabra (i.e. native-born Israeli) and I don't think he should be in this category - almost all Jews born in Israel were born to parents or grandparents from other countries. If you have no objections, I will remove him and several others (e.g. Ehud Barak) from this category. Number 57 11:07, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, he is of Polish origin, but as he was born in Israel and doesn't hold Polish citizenship (like Barak), he isn't really a "Polish Jew", more like an "Israeli of Polish descent". As I said, the problem is that almost all Israelis could be classed in this way if this definition is used. Ben Sahar on the other hand, is a Polish Jew as although he was born in Israel, he holds Polish citizenship. Number 57 11:24, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
- Do you think ethnic origin for Jews in Israel (beyond Ashkenazi/Mizrahi/Ethiopian) is a notable enough topic to merit a category? I am of the opinion that it isn't, but if you think it is, try bringing it up on the Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Israel to see what others think. Number 57 11:39, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

Country / origin categories
editWhy do you remove a category from René Goscinny again, even after I added a source on the talkl page (as requested), when on the other hand you add such a category to Diane Wakoski, even though there is no source for that either? Please be a bit consistent in the rules you apply... 18:37, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
Coetzee
editFirst, it makes the term "Polish Australian" meaningless if we let a generation thrice removed determine the nature of citizenship. Second, there is nothing in Coetzee's output particularly Polish. Cheers. Iterator12n Talk 19:56, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
Paul Erdos
editHi, you added category "University of Warsaw alumni" to the article Paul Erdős. What were the reasons/basis for that? It appears that Paul Erdos was not really connected with Warsaw Univ. If this category is not a mistake, and you have some interesting info (with a source) on the topic, maybe it should be added to the article? Best, Andrzej (Stotr (talk) 20:21, 9 December 2007 (UTC))

Unreferenced BLPs
editHello Kowalmistrz! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 0 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:
- Maria Janion - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
Thanks!--DASHBot (talk) 06:19, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
I have tagged Polish Cultural Institute for speedy deletion because it consists mainly of promotional language. If you object to the deletion of the article, please do not remove the tag; instead, place a {{hangon}} template on the article and explain on the talk page why you believe Polish Cultural Institute should be retained. Copyvio at Princely Houses of Poland
editI've had to delete large portions of the content you added at Princely Houses of Poland. It appears that the comments in the table were directly copied from polishnobles.com, a copyrighted web site. That's a copyright violation, and so I was required to remove it. If you wish to write new text to restore this information, please review the copyright policy and copyright FAQ before proceeding—as I'm sure you're aware, copyright violations can lead to blocks. // ⌘macwhiz (talk) 16:43, 6 November 2010 (UTC)

WikiProject Poland Newsletter • April 2011
For our freedom and yours Welcome to our first issue of WikiProject Poland newsletter, the Monitor (named after the first Polish newspaper). Our Project has been operational since 1 June, 2005, and also serves as the Poland-related Wikipedia notice board. I highly recommend watchlisting the Wikipedia:WikiProject Poland page, so you can be aware of the ongoing discussions. We hope you will join us in them, if you haven't done so already! Unlike many other WikiProjects, we are quite active; in this year alone about 40 threads have been started on our discussion page, and we do a pretty good job at answering all issues raised. In addition to a lively encyclopedic, Poland-related, English-language discussion forum, we have numerous useful tools that can be of use to you - and that you could help us maintain and develop:
This is not all; on our page you can find a list of useful templates (including userboxes), awards and other tools! With all that said, how about you join our discussions at WT:POLAND? Surely, there must be something you could help others with, or perhaps you are in need of assistance yourself? You have received this newsletter because you are listed as a [member link] at WikiProject Poland. • Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 21:11, 25 April 2011 (UTC) |

The article Ha!art has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- no verifiable evidence of notability (WP:N), there's no data in the article to verify any criteria of WP:NME, no basic info like circulation or year of the first issue, poor language (for eg. it sounds like there's articles mostly about two musical bands), no sources, seems to be original research
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Herr Kriss (talk) 02:38, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
The article Akcent (magazine) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- unreferenced literary magazine of unclear notability; tagged as unreferenced since 2008

Disambiguation link notification for May 19
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Royal intermarriage, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Leopold I (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Order of precedence help, please
editUser talk:Trajanis#Baby Cambridge's precedence (re: Order of precedence in England and Wales) DBD 14:20, 24 July 2013 (UTC)
- Kowalmistrz, I do not believe I am making a basic mistake. Even the official website of the British monarchy (precedence page) states: "Generally speaking, the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of a Sovereign, as well as their spouses, are members of the Royal Family. First cousins of the monarch may also be included. Children are included on coming of age or after they have completed their education." http://www.royal.gov.uk/ThecurrentRoyalFamily/Successionandprecedence/Precedence/Overview.aspx As such, a royal HRH great grandson of the current Sovereign certainly ranks at the Royal Family level (at the very least following HRH Prince Michael). By contrast, George, Earl of St Andrews is a great grandchild of a former Sovereign, so I see no basis to place the new Prince George of Cambridge below him in precedence. In any event, we shall see for certain where the new prince fits in the table of precedence at the Royal Family level when he comes of age, but it is misleading in my opinion to place him now at the level of the Earl of St Andrews.Trajanis (talk) 05:30, 25 July 2013 (UTC)

Your account will be renamed
editHello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Kowalmistrz. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Kowalmistrz~enwiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name. If you think you might own all of the accounts with this name and this message is in error, please visit Special:MergeAccount to check and attach all of your accounts to prevent them from being renamed.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. The article John M. Budarz has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Although this gentleman is often mentioned in publications from his day, there is nothing that would qualify as "in-depth" coverage of him. There is no encyclopedic claim to notability here - he was a man who did his job, and is recorded in records as having done that job, but there is nothing to indicate he was encyclopedically notable at doing his job.
