Gigs (talk) 19:45, 8 November 2013 (UTC)Gerard Fowke
editNice article! In case you didn't see, someone else nominated it for appearance on the Did You Know section of Wikipedia's Main Page. I'd like to suggest a few things about the article, but none of these will affect the Main Page appearance or anything else that's time-sensitive; feel free to update these at your leisure, or feel free not to do anything at all.
- Citations 6 and 13 aren't completely filled out; 6 lacks publication data (I'm not even quite sure what it is), while 13 lacks a link to the site in question. Redoing #6 and adding a link to #13 would be quite helpful.
- The spacing is slightly odd; pages look best if there's no space between text and its citation, or between one citation and another.
- Finally, please note that many of these Hopewellian sites in southern Ohio have their own articles (see Category:Ohio Hopewell); if your sources mention any specific sites, you might want to add links to them.
Again, remember that these are all minor issues, and you're free to ignore me if you don't feel like following my suggestions; I'm simply thinking that they would be improvements. Nyttend (talk) 06:49, 11 November 2013 (UTC)
DYK for Gerard Fowke
editOn 16 November 2013, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Gerard Fowke, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that Gerard Fowke spent much of his life studying ancient burial mounds, trying to prove the existence of a civilization that predated what we currently understand to be the Native Americans? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Gerard Fowke. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |
