LF Help ^^

User:ECWAGuru keeps blanking his talk page after he gets warned under what reason should I give him a Warning ?

According to guidelines, we have to assume the user is acting in good faith. Hence, it is considered that the user has read the warnings. You do not need to warn him. Chenzw  Talk  13:42, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

Re: reverting vandalism

Hehe :) No problem. De728631 (talk) 19:58, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

i just thought it would enlighten mr T's page a bit lol :)—Preceding unsigned comment added by Countcrackyoula (talkcontribs)

AIV (and Huggle?)

Hi, please take into consideration that User:157.203.42.50 was not a customer for AIV, this is a content dispute that should not be handled by automated tools such as huggle. If you weren't using an automated tool, please keep in mind that AIV is only for outright vandalism. Thanks! -- lucasbfr talk 12:08, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

Vandalism

Roman A

In the discussion the article is clearly marked - "A request has been made for this article to be peer reviewed to receive a broader perspective on how it may be improved. Please make any edits you see fit to improve the quality of this article."

Which means that large changes can be made to the feature article without previous discussion. That is what I did, in an attempt to remove libeous and unproven claims.

What is the response? You revert and accuse me of Vandalism, and then prompt a ban.

I believe your actions fall under the heading of "Administrator Abuse" on the Adminstrators guidelines page

Your "warning" and reversion are unwarranted and not inline with the beliefs of open source or Wiki

I have entered a point on the talk page bring the attention to your actions in hope that someone else will support the correct and needed changes I made which you reverted.

UK Ecomony

Again there was discussion in the Talk section - I acted on it and you claim it is vandalism and revert....

ok as noted by both users I apologise about this event and I will ask a admin to remove all warnings which were given. I gave the warning to the Ip address because I thought he was removing content. Alexnia (talk) 13:05, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

No problem :) My first instinct was "omg content removal", but then I saw this was a bit more complicated, hence my message. When using Huggle, always double check before sending a report to AIV, we often act very fast on these reports and friendly fire can happen very easily. -- lucasbfr talk 13:28, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
I will assume the Huggle/AIV part was intended for Alexnia since I have never used either. Note the problem still does not have any resolution since Alexnia has not commented at all, and therefor it has to be assumed he would still ban me for making the necessary changes

ouch seems like a have two apologise about two articles this dosn't look like a good day for me ;( The reason I reported you on that article was because you removed information. Alexnia (talk) 13:43, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

So what does that mean in terms of the edits? Does that mean you reversed the revert? Does that mean that the corrections we spent time making have been put in? Does that mean you will not be banning us for trying to improve Wiki?

From my perspective its me that is not having the good day, since it was my time that got wasted not yours - sometimes content removal is a good thing you know —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.35.101.76 (talk) 13:52, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

I already reported this incident to the admins and I'm waiting for a response for removal of the warning I also want to notice that I have also wasted my time trying to solve this problem what do want anyway and forgodsake sign your comments. Alexnia (talk) 14:04, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

I would also like you too have a look to this page to show you I reported it to the admins http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Administrators%27_noticeboard/Incidents#Roman_Abramovich_Misunderstoodment_by_User:Alexnia Alexnia (talk) 14:10, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

What do I want? I already stated that - I want clarification on where the changes and the freedom to edit stand.
You have not answered those questions. The way it appears now, if I tried to edit the page I would be banned or it would just be reverted. You have made no comment to the contray. So its not like I am making comments to cause you trouble - those are questions.
And wasted your time? You created the problem so your time is not a factor in this, sure it might have been a mistake but it was one that would be easy to avoid and since you did it twice in quick succession that has to be taken into consideration. I guess you think that just because some gave you admin rights that you should be able to mess someone around and they should not be irritated by it - well it does not work that way and your attempts to make a joke of it and brush it aside do not help. A sincere apology is fine and I really don't have a problem, but that of course does not help with clarification
I can not sign my comments because Wiki just erases it from this IP. But being as this is a Talk Page its not really needed anyway. Swearing at people and being disrespectful to them for not using signatures is not correct behavior.
Why post that link? Do you think I did not believe you to begin with? Do you think that page has meaning to me? I am not an admin and as such do not understand that process of banning or removing bans. I took your word for it from the start —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.35.101.76 (talk) 14:18, 22 August 2008 (UTC) #

Admin response per ANI thread:

  • Thank you, Alexnia, for your good-faith efforts to quickly resolve this unfortunate misunderstanding. It's much appreciated, and does you credit - if all editors were this reasonable, we wouldn't need WP:ANI ;)
  • To the anonymous IP editor (I hope neither of you mind me posting here, but IP addresses can change and I want to leave this somewhere where you might see it), I trust you are satisfied by the apology and retraction you have received? You are very welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, as long as your edits conform to our editing policies; specifically, they must be verifiable from a reliable source, and neutral. If you intend to make substantial changes to article content, as a new editor it's often best to propose the changes on the article talk page first - this will let you gauge support for your edit, and can give other editors the opportunity to explain why your proposal might be problematic... or why it's an excellent idea!. If you need more guidance, don't hesitate to drop me a note on my talk page; we should respect Alexnia's wishes for no further discussion here. Best, EyeSerenetalk 16:48, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

It seems like you have been having a tough time over this. It is unfortunately when a new user takes umbrage over things. I think s/he got off on the wrong foot and is now taking offence where none is intended. Best of luck. Ground Zero | t 18:16, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

Yep, it's a storm in a tea cup. You did get a little bitey, but I'm sure you'll remember next time ;) We all make mistakes - I've had my share too - but you did your best to put things right, and that's all anyone can ask. All the best, EyeSerenetalk 18:57, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
The response to my welcome message says it all. Ground Zero | t 22:45, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
Yeah you are right it does, it says that your thinly disguised insults pushed someone to the point where they no longer wanted to communicate with you. You and I both know you putting that "welcome" there was a taunt. You should be asking yourself why but instead you pop off again. TruthWay (talk) 14:46, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
It was a genuine welcome, and an opportunity to give you a bunch of links to help you learn about Wikipedia. Ground Zero | t 14:56, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
BS TruthWay (talk) 13:26, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

well, well, well Truthway was really a person who took the templates in wikipedia to seriously and then started to flame a WP:HUGGLE user without understanding the faults which happen while using this automated programme. About web-site

Good day, Alexnia! I will remove the page about web-site, I understand that right now I don't meet the requirements. I hope to write an article about web-site later, when it will be well-known.

Thank you, Sincerely, Stanislav Kaliyev

ooops sorry about that didn't notice you were the author of the article ; thanks for not getting mad at me xDAlexnia (talk) 10:19, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

So I can continue working at the article, or should I place it somewhere else to publish it later, when it will be ready? Stanislav Kaliyev (talk) 13:31, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

well my advice would be too make a subpage and write your article there and when you feel it is perfect you can recreated it after it was deletedAlexnia (talk) 10:34, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

Thank you. I have created the subpage. The original page may be deleted now. (talk) 14:22, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

September 2008

I almost always give the template regardless of the user because reports often disappear seconds after they are marked. And that ensures people know why their report was not acted upon. -- lucasbfr talk 11:02, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

is it okay if I remove the warning since I understood my mistakeAlexnia (talk) 11:09, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

Yeah sure, no worries! You can always remove any text, including warning or notices from your talk page :) -- lucasbfr talk 11:11, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

Use of reversion tools

Please be more careful with them. This edit was not appropriate as the edit you reverted was in fact constructive (consolidting two identical named references into one). Thanks, Christopher Parham (talk) 19:54, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

ok sorry thanks for noticing i was using huggle a bit too much :P Alexnia (talk) 09:18, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Merrill kent

A tag has been placed on Merrill kent requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you.  RGTraynor  15:31, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

yeah thanks for putting that under speedy deletion I was on a NP patrol and I tagged the page. While I taged it , it was deleting and I accidentally recreated it.

well first you need to you need too prove that the noted article approves WP:BIO/Notability this need to be done by inserting Citation & references with out these your article has 99% chance to be deleted I can't help any further since I can't remember the conntents of the deleted page.

Alexnia (T) @ 14:37, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

Robert C. Rodriguez

Just for your Info, CSD:G4 applies for only those articles which are deleted via Afd.

Was this one nominated for AfD? if yes then ignore my message.

Hitro 14:51, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

the authors talk page looked liked if the article was already deleted; if it was not I'll remove the CSD:G4 notice

Alexnia (T) @ 14:53, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

Yes, the article was speedily deleted but not via AfD . This link will show you the deletion log. Unless an article goes to AfD debate and gets deleted, the recreation is not a subject for CSD:G4. However, you may nominate it for CSD:A7
Happy editing!!!! Hitro 15:01, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

I'm a bit confused so CSD:G4 only implies when it got deleted via Afd not CSD?

Alexnia (T) @ 15:09, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

Yes, exactly. That is what I meant.Hitro 15:11, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

Regarding a Wiki I Posted

I recently posted a wiki page on an artist by the name of Jessica Cha... I added more information to the page, so hopefully that will suffice. I am not really sure why you don't consider her notable though, my friends and I found her on imeem, and wanted to know more about her, so we searched yahoo.com and she was all over the front couple of pages... but I saw she didnt have a wiki, so I decided to create one.

hope to hear from you soon! vivienne —Preceding unsigned comment added by 1FanoftheArts (talkcontribs) 10:59, 9 September 2008 (UTC)

Ok fine I'll remove the Notability tag and I'll post a message to the user who categorized the page for csd
