Your submission at Articles for creation: sandbox (April 8)

edit

Your recent article submission has been rejected. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reason left by DoubleGrazing was: This topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was: That's great to hear, welcome! But no need to announce it in an article, you can just do so on your user page. :)

Hello, Krushnarjun. Welcome to Wikipedia!

I'm S0091, one of the other editors here, and I hope you decide to stay and help contribute to this amazing repository of knowledge.

To help get you started, you may find these useful:

When editing, follow the 3 Core Content Policies:
  1. Neutral point of view: represent significant views fairly
  2. Verifiability: claims should cite reliable, published sources
  3. No original research: no originality; reference published sources

Remember to always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the   button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes ~~~~ at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to this (your talk) page, and a timestamp.

Thanks. I have very much decided to stay and spend a fair bit of my time to contribute to Wikipedia in 3 languages I know well. English, Marathi and Hindi. I will need a little time to learn all the ropes, but will keep at it Krushnarjun (talk) 03:12, 10 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

April 2023

edit

I noticed that you have posted comments to the page Mangifera indica in a language other than English. At the English-language Wikipedia, we try to use English for all comments. Posting all comments in English makes it easier for other editors to join the conversation and help you. If you cannot avoid using another language, then please provide a translation into English, if you can. If you cannot provide a translation, please go to the list of Wikipedias, look in the list for a Wikipedia that is in your language, and edit there instead of here. For more details, see Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines. ... and several other articles. Do not add non-English names to this Wikipedia. Zefr (talk) 15:34, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

These are names in a number of other languages, that is all. To me this is entirely justifiable. Krushnarjun (talk) 16:22, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
There is no way for English users to know the significance of such names, nor whether they are true or verifiable, WP:V. Please stop inserting non-English terms in the English encyclopedia. What you do in other language Wikipedias is up to their respective editors. See List of Wikipedias. Zefr (talk) 16:42, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

People of India project of ASI moved to draftspace

edit

Thanks for your contributions to People of India project of ASI. Unfortunately, it is not ready for publishing because it has no sources and no categories and it's an orphan. Your article is now a draft where you can improve it undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. BoyTheKingCanDance (talk) 06:42, 1 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. I have the references, but could not add them successfully. I will learn how to do so and then submit the drift for review Krushnarjun (talk) 12:06, 1 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello Krushnarjun! Your additions to People of India (project) have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 19:57, 2 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
