I think that is the best taxobox image uploaded so far! The quality of the photograph is excellent and it's a natural-colored bird. Thanks for finding it and posting it there. --Ginkgo100 talk · e@ 19:47, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

RD modification

If you haven't been reading the RD talk page, I would appreciate some input on a proposed re-arrangement of the reference desks. I have set up a demo here, and I am coming close to finishing the base code for the entire RD suite. It should be noted that there is no plan to use these pages without the aid of an archiving bot, and by that I mean to imply that they are being to be used with a bit that will be made for them. Once a few more things have been set in stone, I will re-issue the bot request. Thanks.  freshofftheufoΓΛĿЌ  12:02, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Shane macgowans teeth.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Shane macgowans teeth.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Chowbok 04:02, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

Image:Vibs 2004.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Vibs 2004.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Chowbok 20:24, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

Play With Fire

I was curious, what is your issue with my version of Play With Fire.Firegirl223 06:49, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

But who are we to decide what is true if the press tells us otherwise. I know the song is not a rumor, the song was on a Hilary fan site in demo form (the quality was bad) but it was proven. So if an ex producers makes a comment to an artist i think that should be added. And not only all critisim is accepted, not just positive. It would turn every article into a vanity page.Firegirl223 19:50, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

Image:Leslie grantham.jpg listed for deletion

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Leslie grantham.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. One bad apple

Strong interest in gulls

Kurt: do you have really strong interests in particular subjects (like gulls) which bewilder your family? What strong interests have you had in the past? Regards. Edison 05:39, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

patience

For speedy deletion tag on Raman Roy- like I said it is WIP, give it two hours, if still not satisfied please go ahead. Haphar 10:27, 28 February 2007 (UTC) Please do refer to the following language of the speedy deletion process too :- "Before nominating an article for speedy deletion, consider whether an article could be improved or reduced to a stub; speedy deletion is for cases where an article does not contain useful content. Note that some Wikipedians create articles in multiple saves, so try to avoid deleting a page too soon after its initial creation. Users nominating a page for speedy deletion should specify which criteria the page meets; it would also be considerate to notify the original author. So there was no notification, and I had not even have had the time in the last half hour to add content as we are in this discussion. I am doing it in multiple saves, hold your horses please. Haphar 10:39, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

I have also give you a part of the policy from speedy deletions that asks for patience ( see above). Please have patience and at the end of the day if you still feel it qualifies by all means follow the process. As before putting the tag the above aspect was not considered, all I am saying is reconsider. Let's move on Haphar 10:45, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

First cut of the article is now ready, your comments would be appreciated, and if you still feel it is not meaningful enough, please do let me know. Haphar 13:51, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

Final Warning

This is your only warning. What you posted in this thread here was completly and totally unnaceptable. If you persist in damaging, destructive behavior, you will be banned. Hipocrite - «Talk» 18:04, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

Although he pretends to be so, Hipocrite isn't an Admin, so has absolutely no authority to do as he threatens. StuRat 00:48, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

Please keep "gooch" page clean.

Yes, I realize that you may think this to be funny or cool, but I dont believe pop culture and sickening refrences should be placed on any page. In order to protect the honor of all the Gooches out there, I ask that you stop adding your refrence. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.102.229.85 (talk) 18:22, 23 March 2007 (UTC).

Hi. Because the sockpuppetry is not immediately obvious, can you please report this user at WP:SSP instead. Cheers TigerShark 20:55, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

Avril Lavigne

I agree that Wikipedia is not censored, especially with quotes. But you might want to check the accuracy of the quote. It doesn't sound correct. Ward3001 21:21, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

AIV report of JL71JO

You reported JL71JO (talk · contribs) at WP:AIV as a vandalizing sock of JJonathan (talk · contribs). From the evidence you provided, it was not clear vandalism and not immediately apparent they they were related. I have not blocked them. WP:AIV is generally only for clear-cut cases and you must make your evidence extremely clear for subtle cases of sockpuppetry. Admins working AIV are not inclined to do serious sleuthing. Please relist your complaint at WP:ANI explaining why you think they are a sock, listing diffs by both accounts and explaining patterns of similar behavior. —dgiestc 02:55, 14 April 2007 (UTC)

Discocrumb

Could I possibly suggest that you ask the administrator who blocked JJonathan, or an administrator who has blocked JJonathan socks since, evaluate this one rather than a random administrator on AIV? A lack of background knowledge of the vandalism and the original account makes that noticeboard probably not the best location for a report. Dgies covers why above. Cheers, Daniel Bryant 10:03, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

Edit war at Rock Pigeon

Please see my note at Talk:Rock Pigeon#National varieties of English. -GTBacchus(talk) 22:30, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

I understand that you were dealing with a disruptive editor, and you were clearly in the right. Thank you for keeping an eye on the article.
I would suggest, once there's an edit war going, that it's sometimes best to leave the article in the wrong version and bring other eyes to the situation. Weight of numbers can end an edit war in a way that number of reversions really can't. In the meantime, if a few readers see a different variety of English, there's no real harm done.
Thanks again for being alert and helping look after our Columbiformes! -GTBacchus(talk) 08:51, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
