Hi, regarding the block of 76.116.153.29 (talk · contribs), leaving a block notice isn't needed for an IP to be blocked. If you click on its contribs and go to "Block log", you'll see it's been blocked. For IP vandalism, I usually don't leave block notices because if a blocked user tries editing, they would see the block reason through the MediaWiki:Blockedtext. Redirect

Hi,

I am new to Wikipedia, and don't yet fully understand the termologies. What should I do in order to get the redirect removed.

Thanks for your help. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nitech2008 (talkcontribs) 15:57, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

Hi, I am confused that there are so many different pages. I found out how to sign now, and hope this would work.

Thanks,--Nitech2008 (talk) 16:05, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

Thanks, it's fine, I never held a grudge against you if you thought that! 16:15, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

Thanks. I cannot see the pages anymore. It moves me to the "speedy deletion", hence I cannot see the information in the corner as you suggested. Help please! --Nitech2008 (talk) 16:19, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

Alfred Addis's speedy

I moved the page back to its original name and removed the speedy tag. It's blanking was not vandalism but an improper action by someone who believes they "own" the article. Please check the article history before speedying it. - Trevor MacInnis (Contribs) 16:31, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

Hello, LAAFan. You have new messages at Travellingcari's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

I am really confused now. From the history, all my contributions from August 6th to September 1st have disappeared. I cannot access the text to make changes. Would you help? Thanks.--Nitech2008 (talk) 08:30, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

The article still has a way to go before it's GA worthy. The cultural references section needs refs and a production section is needed. I suggest listening to DVD commentaries. It also wouldn't hurt to check Newsbank as this was a very high profile episode in the media, so you should be able to find some useful reviews and comments. -- Scorpion0422 03:08, 6 September 2008 (UTC)

Good move, it's best to save face for the future. Obviously you know what area you have to work on... I'd suggest a closer working relationship with your admin coach, and also asking them before you run again (preferably asking them nominate you). best, –xeno (talk) 22:54, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

Coaching

Sorry, I really am pretty full in my hands, in real life and on here. However, I recommend that you ask User:Sephiroth BCR or User:X!. Both are available according to the chart, and good admins to learn from. Sorry. bibliomaniac1 5 00:25, 12 September 2008 (UTC)

Let me take a closer look at your work and I'll get back to you shortly as to whether I can coach you. Useight (talk) 21:51, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
Okay, I can help you out. After my initial brief review, it does seem you are on the right track, but you've made a few mistakes. I, too, made some errors that doomed my early RFAs (which, after the passage of some time, I realized I didn't know enough to be a very good admin). Anyway, we can go ahead and have "Editor coaching", as I call it now, it is admin coaching with a little different spin. This opportunity should be used to demonstrate what you do and don't know and pick my brain to learn as much as you can. Will it make you into the a better candidate for adminship? Indirectly. The goal, though, is to improve as an editor to become well-rounded, versed, and knowledgeable. Useight (talk) 03:30, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
I'll create a page for the editor coaching to take place shortly, I'm only on Wikipedia for a couple of minutes, then I'm going to play Age of Empires II. The page will be at User:LAAFan/Editor coaching. Useight (talk) 03:32, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
By "active" and "hands-on", what, exactly, are you looking for? If you want assignments, we can do that. If you want quizzes, we can do that. If you a question and answer session, we can do that. If you're concerned that I won't be editing every day to be available, you can let that concern rest (I'm checking Wikipedia throughout the day when I'm not actively editing, except when I'm in class or asleep (and if I had a laptop, I'd be on during class, too.)) Let me know what, precisely, you want the coaching to be, and I'll let you know if I can do that. Useight (talk) 03:38, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
Okay, the page is created and I put some initial questions there in order to find out what we should focus on and which direction we should go. Useight (talk) 06:35, 13 September 2008 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Miscellany of Panaghoy sa Suba

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Miscellany of Panaghoy sa Suba, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. G LIFE RECORDS

A tag has been placed on G LIFE RECORDS, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a redirect to a nonexistent page.

If you can fix this redirect to point to an existing Wikipedia page, please do so and remove the speedy deletion tag. However, please do not remove the speedy deletion tag unless you also fix the redirect. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Question

Hi, sorry to see you're wikibonked ;) I've got a question. If there's an unreferenced fact in an article, and if an editor believes that it's wrong (but not intentionally giving wrong information or anything like that), should it be removed straightaway or is it better to discuss it with other involved editors or on the article talk page first? Let's say the 2nd editor is also not sure about it being completely wrong, but just feels like it's wrong. So it's a bit like both parties are unsure. How can you come to an agreement in a situation like that? Should the uncertain material be removed? Chamal Talk ± 17:31, 20 September 2008 (UTC)

We've been "bluelinking" the Navy of x links in the basic topic country lists, by creating redirects for them, even for the countries that have no navy.

There's been a little controversy over the navy redirects for the landlocked countries (many of which have no navy), as you can see above. But it's all been worked out. Each country with no navy gets a redirect to wherever it is reported that it has no navy, or failing that, to its "military of" article.

The country lists are coming along slowing but surely. It shouldn't take too much longer before they will be complete enough to move into article space (!), but I can still use all the help I can get. (hint hint).

The Transhumanist    20:46, 23 September 2008 (UTC)

We could sure use your help in bluelinking the links in these lists (each link appears in the one of the various country basic topic lists):

To bluelink them, create a redirect to wherever the information is covered. If there is no entity, redirect to where that is (or should be) covered.

If you have any questions, please contact me. The Transhumanist    20:58, 23 September 2008 (UTC)

About Good Article Nominees

Yes, that user may have nominated bad articles for GA, and what you did was correct. However, you did it on wrong grounds because: 1) The backlog existed long time before his arrival, rendering your "creating backlog" reason being moot. 2) It is not necessarily to be a major contributor of the article to nominate it for GA. All you need to believe is if the article meets the criteria, and the criteria does not mention anything with regards to contributor status. OhanaUnitedTalk page 13:08, 26 September 2008 (UTC)
