18-c-6
editIf you have any questions about my heavy edit, let me know. You know and are communicating an impressive amount of chemistry, so keep it up. See if you can find the crystallographic analysis of 18-crown-6. My guess is that the O centres are not aimed toward the interior (that is one reason the dibenzo derive is superior complexant?). --Smokefoot (talk) 18:36, 11 March 2012 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for April 6
editHi. When you recently edited Buckminsterfullerene, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Arc reactor (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

—Tom Morris (talk) 18:48, 12 April 2012 (UTC)Great work!
Can you adjust your image, please? It's Co(III) but you've assigned 2+ to the cobalt center. You can actually draw it without any explicit charges, with a bond (dative) bond between the cobalt centers and the nitrogen donors, and dotted bonds between the Os and the shared Hs. It'd be nice to have a larger image as well, and perhaps a transparent background.
There's more information here: Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Chemistry/Structure_drawing. Drop me a note if you need any help. --Rifleman 82 (talk) 00:36, 13 April 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for working on the structure, but the charges are still not balanced. There are two negative charges and one 3+ charge. The chloride ligand has a formal charge of -1, but you rightly depicted it with a single bond. Why don't you try removing all formal charges from the structures, and delocalize the O-H<--O bonds? --Rifleman 82 (talk) 15:18, 14 April 2012 (UTC)
- Oh yes I'm sorry that I missed that, I'll change that now. By the way, I tried to produce a transparent background, but the only software I can access to is ChemSketch and therefore I cannot/don't know how to produce a .svg or an image with transparent background. Would it be ok? LHcheM (talk) 06:19, 15 April 2012 (UTC)
It's nice to have a transparent background but that's not the most important thing. I use the most recent version of ChemSketch (I'm a fan), and I am able to export PNGs at 720 px resolution. --Rifleman 82 (talk) 21:41, 15 April 2012 (UTC)
Really !? Can you please teach me how so that I can improve the quality of the images produced! LHcheM (talk) 08:04, 20 April 2012 (UTC)
What exactly do you want to know? Can we talk about it on my talkpage? I've been busy and I don't check my watchlist so much now; I might miss a message from you. --Rifleman 82 (talk) 17:11, 20 April 2012 (UTC)

Coordination cmpd
editKind of small point (that I also learned recently): things like [Ag(py)4]SO4 are not really coordination compounds, but are salts of coordination complexes. This language seems picky, I know. So I guess CrCl3(H2O)3 is a coordination compound, but [Cr(H2O)6]Cl3 is the chloride salt of a coordination complex. BTW, do you have access to Greenwood and Earnshaw? That is a very good resource for your work. I have seen that it is even available free online. --Smokefoot (talk) 14:08, 3 August 2012 (UTC)
I was just wondering about that...ok now things are clear for me, thanks! Sorry I don't have Greenwood as well as eEROS, but I only have Inorganic Chemistry by Catherine Housecroft and Organic Syntheses, I'll try to find Greenwood online then LHcheM (talk) 14:53, 3 August 2012 (UTC)

Camerafiend (talk) 01:20, 20 August 2012 (UTC)Good work! Just as an aside, I see you have a number of other successful AfC notifications above this one. The quality of your chemistry articles is excellent and you really don't need to keep sending them through AfC (though you certainly can if you want). You've clearly proven that you're qualified to create articles yourself. Camerafiend (talk) 01:51, 20 August 2012 (UTC)

Can you please help improve the ganglioside page?
editThank you for the addition you made to the ganglioside page, I think It's a very important subject since those substances are incredible relevant in the aetiology of certain neurological and non-neurological diseases. I've seen you are a highly knowledgeable person on chemistry, could you please improve more this page? Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.176.231.6 (talk) 01:16, 27 August 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you for your appreciation! Since I have limited accessible resources about the issue, I can only do my best by taking reference from the only book I possess which has mentioned about the molecule (Principles of Biochemistry, by Donald & Judith Voet, Charlotte Pratt), therefore if you have any additional information about it please let me know, you can either edit the article yourself, or I can help you to organize and write the stuffs. I'm currently in camp now and therefore I will start my work 3 days later LHcheM (talk) 23:24, 27 August 2012 (UTC)

editThere is a mistake in the image File:Metabolism of common monosaccharides, and related reactions.png: The product of galactokinase is galactose-1-phosphate, but the image says it's glucose-1-phosphate. Icek (talk) 10:43, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
- Image corrected, thanks for the reminder! LHcheM (talk) 12:13, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
Redirects
editI've created a few chemistry-related redirects you proposed at WP:AfC/R. Thanks for your good work! I wonder, though: Is there a reason you don't create the redirects yourself? You obviously know the chemistry (better than me; I just rubber-stamp what you propose), and the AfC process is only required for IP editors who cannot create new pages on their own. Of course you're welcome to continue using AfC, but it feels unnecessarily complicated. Yours, Huon (talk) 16:01, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you for your work on my submissions! Well as you can see I often make some kind of mistakes up there, and I think I am still not familiar enough with the system, therefore I would like to gain enough experience before I do anything that mess things up, and receive comments from the more experienced users as they review on my work. Perhaps next time I will try to create an article/redirect directly. LHcheM (talk) 04:38, 22 September 2012 (UTC)
[NiCl4]2-
editReferring to this file:
It is suggested that the third test tube contains an aqueous [NiCl4]2-. This ion is blue, and my guess is that this ion is unstable in water. So I might remove the image from various articles until we can confirm what this sample is. Thanks, --Smokefoot (talk) 14:56, 28 September 2013 (UTC)
- Sorry for the very late reply and disappearance as I was deadly busy these days...but anyway I tried that again, with excess 12M HCl (aq) to NiSO4·6 H2O, the color is still as photographed and demonstrated, should I remove the controversial test tube to avoid confusion and misinformation? I guess (from my scanty knowledge) that there might be some other species present in the acidic environment? LHcheM (talk) 03:40, 13 October 2013 (UTC)

editHello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Type I tyrosinemia may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.
- List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
- tyrosinemia, is the most severe form of tyrosinemia. It is caused by a deficiency of the enzyme [[fumarylacetoacetate hydrolase].

Speedy deletion nomination of Freddie Ng Ting Fat
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Freddie Ng Ting Fat requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. UKWikiGuy (talk) 15:27, 10 July 2024 (UTC)
