Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Lenity Light Hospice

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Lenity Light Hospice, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Welcome!

Hello, LLHofTX, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of username and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 15:25, 22 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

removing company name from user name

Decline reason:

As explained below, you have evidently not understood the meaning of "promotion" in the block reason, and you evidently intend to continue to do the same, and as long as that is your intention unblocking would not be appropriate. On the other hand the new username is, as far as I know, acceptable, and I will rename your account for you if you still want that done. However, I have not yet changed your username, because once it is changed, if you try to log in under your old username, you will get a message telling you that the username or password is wrong, which might make you think that you have lost access to your account. You can in fact simply log in with the new username, and the same password as before, but I like to warn editors before changing the name, to avoid confusion. When you have read this message, post a message here telling me that you are ready for the name change to go ahead. In that message include both the text {{ping|JBW}} and ~~~~. I will then be automatically notified of your message. JBW (talk) 22:34, 22 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

We work with palliative care / hospice /terminal patients. contributions will be medical in nature as well as offering advice for terminal individuals and proposing new methods to take care of dying individuals to provide them comfort in the time they have left. This is a sensitive topic and not much exists for this stuff. The purpose of the page and my attempt to join here is to offer advice/share what I have learned. I have come to understanding I can only teach so much in person. I need a place where I can document what we do so others can learn from it and we can change the human condition for the better. Especially in these patients. they are often cast aside when doctors realize we cant do anything any more, these patients and families get abandoned. Doctors are uncomfortable taking care of these folks as the meds required can be scary. We need to change that.

I am new to the online world. I spent my time face to face with patients, healing and dealing with the terminally ill. you will need to help me navigate this process please. I feel we have a lot of good we have to offer. Thank you. LLHofTX (talk) 15:53, 22 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

(Non-administrator comment) Hi, it will be up to administrators to decide whether to unblock you etc., but while waiting I can briefly explain an important aspect of Wikipedia, because from what you say it seems you may have misunderstood this. Laudable as your aims are, they don't appear suitable for Wikipedia. We publish articles summarising what reliable published sources have previously said about a topic. From this it follows that we are never the first to publish something. We also do not accept original research, instruction manuals, advocacy, and many other types of non-encyclopaedic content (see What Wikipedia is not). Therefore, in what comes to your plans for "documenting what you do" and "sharing what you have learned", Wikipedia is almost certainly not an appropriate platform for this. Unfortunately, you have evidently not understood what "promotional" means in the context of Wikipedia's policies. In your message above, and perhaps to a greater extent in you unblock request at UTRS, you have gone to some pains to explain what your intentions are, and what you have described is exactly what "promotional editing" means. Your intention is to publicise your methods in the hope of getting others to adopt those methods: that is to say to promote those methods. For some reason it is very common for new editors to assume that the ban on promotional editing applies only to promotion of commercial products for financial gain, but it doesn't: it applies to promotion of anything, for any purpose. Although you have not explicitly said so, you may have made that mistake. JBW (talk) 22:12, 22 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Please don't have multiple unblock requests open at the same time

edit

I have closed UTRS unblock request #75149, as you have open unblock requests on this page, and there is no point having requests in both places. In addition, for reasons explained to you on UTRS, here, not UTRS, is the right place for you to request an unblock. Also please don't have more than one unblock request open at a time on this page; doing so serves no useful purpose, and takes up slightly more time for administrators, who have to individually close each one.
