Try updating Chávez on Spanish WP
editPerhaps try updating article "es:Hugo Chávez" on the Spanish Wikipedia, this month, and then report back to User_talk:Jimbo, about how the new text was received there. The article averages only 5 edits per month, so perhaps there would be less resistance to updates now. There is no need to worry about restrictions to pro-Chavez text, if people have stopped trying to censor negative issues. Thank you for trying to improve the wp:NPOV neutral balance in the article. -Wikid77 (talk) 04:25, 16 May 2012 (UTC)

- What copyright violation? I have translated excerpts from the wikipedia's "Wild One" article! and used a photo that appears there.....Please, be more careful next time.--LLanero1978 (talk) 20:07, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
- See Flickrwashing at Wikimedia commmons. This movie still is NOT CC-by-SA. It's copyrighted and requires a fair use licence, which might let it be used on The Wild One, but definitely not Hollister riot. --Dennis Bratland (talk) 20:17, 22 May 2012 (UTC)
- "which might let it be used": now I understand your "strange" common sense....and because I always stay away from people with special minds, I will let you do whatever you like with the article. Good luck forever.--LLanero1978 (talk) 01:31, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
- Please read Wikipedia:Non-free content. Look at Policies where it says "8. Contextual significance. Non-free content is used only if its presence would significantly increase readers' understanding of the topic, and its omission would be detrimental to that understanding." The non-free image might qualify under fair use for The Wild One, but it is only distantly related to Hollister riot. The film The Wild One was a Hollywood revision of a much different fiction story published in Harper's Magazine a few years after the Hollister riot. That magazine story was loosely based (some say) on the actual Hollister riot. The film is at least twice removed from the actual event. The contextual significance is too weak to be used on Hollister riot. And moreover, CC-by-SA is not the right license and it can't be used for that reason as well.
Do not make any more personal attacks on other editors. You can be blocked from editing for such behavior. --Dennis Bratland (talk) 02:02, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
