File source problem with File:Brittany Chen Miss Teenage California 2009.jpg

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Brittany Chen Miss Teenage California 2009.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 17:38, 27 October 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 17:38, 27 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Reversion of edits

Laceydog (talk) 17:59, 27 August 2011 (UTC) I believe the edits you made to miss teenage california were unproductive, and were intended to promote the pageant rather than present information on it in a neutral, encyclopedic fashion. I have a fair amount of editing experience here, and feel justified in reverting your edits. for example, you removed the reference to a news article showing one former contestant, and replaced it with a link to their wp article. i have already linked their name, so thats not necessary, and we NEVER use wp articles as references for articles. you removed the dablinks, which are to my eye reasonable, as there are so many similarly named pageants. our job is to help readers understand this subject better, and showing that there are other similarly named pageants helps. we especially want to mention defunct pageants of note, as WP is not a business directory. If these were removed to avoid mentioning competing pageants, which im afraid may have been the purpose, thats totally unacceptable and if repeated can lead to various forms of restriction of your editing priveliges, which i dont want. i had already mentioned the organization name and founder in the article. listing it again in the 2012 section is unnecessary, and removing the external link, in favor of a bare URL, is overly promotional and not good editing. its better to have it clickable. If you want to make more edits to this page, either first practice editing a subject you are not as obviously connected to, or at least bring your ideas up for discussion on the talk page. I have nothing against this article. i worked hard to improve it, and i even have a photo of the current pageant winner at my desk, so please know i would like nothing more than to see the pageant thrive, but this is NOT the venue to "promote" the pageant. as sgt friday said " just the facts". As an example of how to build up an article without being overly promotional, consider the Hayward, California article, which i have edited extensively, but i believe have kept neutral and verifiable. I did make one edit that is not normally policy, which is adding bianca's name to list of residents, despite her not being notable enough yet to have her own article. thats ok, but could be questioned legitimately by other editors.Mercurywoodrose (talk) 00:06, 9 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

It certainly was not my intention to delete anything I felt was pertinent to the discussion. It never was my intention to promote anything here. By wikipedia standards this seems to be a "slippery slope" sometimes. Almost like walking on egg shells. I will state recent information was added by you or someone else pertaining to what this program is about. That information was incorrect. Miss Teenage California is indeed scholarship based, but this is not all that is awarded at the state program each year. I felt their was no reason to mention at the top of the page all of the pageant systems that Miss Teenage California is NOT afiliated with since the article clearly states what the program is affiliated with. I would like to add a photo of Bianca Vierra the current Miss Teenage California to the wikipedia site. I honestly tried before, to no avail. I can maneuver myself around the computer with ease, but wikipedia is a different animal and for me more difficult to do so. Your assistance here would be apppreciated and welcomed.

My advice is with all due respect. Please make it easier for the layman to understand wikipedia without having to take a course in wikipedia 101. Thank you for your time. Thanks. Laceydog (talk) 17:59, 27 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
