Help with First Article
editHi all, I admit it--I can't figure this out. I have an article written on a female American inventor, but my head is in a swirl with all of the instructions. Who can I turn to? Thanks, LaneLane Hastings (talk) 14:53, 16 September 2020 (UTC)
Sandbox help!
editHi, I created my article my sandbox, but I can't find a submit button anywhere. Help! Lane Hastings
- Hi Lane, I will add a submit template but the article is not quite ready yet. First, please read Wikipedia's notability guidelines for living people to ensure the subject meets the requirements (likely). Since Wikipedia must take great care with what is written about living people, all statements in articles must cite a reliable source. Your sources do appear to meet reliability so it is matter of adding them as inline citations. You may find this guide helpful. I think you have done a great job, especially given you are brand new. I am also leaving you some additional information. If you have questions or need help, you can ask the Teahouse. S0091 (talk) 17:20, 28 November 2020 (UTC)
- Hi Lane, thanks for message on my talk page. The citations are still not quite right but closer and having sources is certainly better than none. Also, like I stated before it is well written. I say go ahead submit it. The worse that can happen is it is declined. If so, just take the feedback given and continue to improve it. On Wikipedia everything is a work in progress. :) S0091 (talk) 20:21, 28 November 2020 (UTC)
- Another thought...I think you should consider joining WikiProject Women in Red as it will give access to a broader editor base here. It has an active talk page where you seek advice, etc. S0091 (talk) 21:50, 28 November 2020 (UTC)

To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own personal sandbox for use any time. It's perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}}
on your user page. By the way, seeing as you haven't created a user page yet, simply click here to start it.
Please remember to:
- Always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes
~~~~
at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to your talk page, and a timestamp. - Leave descriptive edit summaries for your edits. Doing so helps other editors understand what changes you have made and why you made them.
