How can I help you? Montco (talk) 00:37, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
- Although I'm kinda a noob on Wikipedia, I've been on it for a while, and I guess I have some questions. Why are forums generally disallowed on Wikipedia? How do you have so many edits against vandals daily? How do you want me to contact you? On your user page or mine? Also, I've noticed a new thing: I seem to have move/undo permissions on any article that I've edited. Is this normal? Thanks for helping me. -Lappy512 (talk) 00:23, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
- To answer in sequence:
- One of the things WP is trying to avoid is to become a directory wesbite. Once you allow one forum/discussion group, you have to start allowing all of them. That tends to turn articles into linkfarms which is undesirable. This here to be an encyclopedia rather than an advertising medium. I believe that your motive is more benign, but many editors motives are more nefarious. I would recommend that you review the external link guidelines.
- Vandals: In addition to the articles that I have editorial interest in, I also have selected to watch a number of articles that have a high percentage of vandal or spam edits. As I uncover more vandals, I add more articles to my watchlist.
- You may contact me on my talk page. if you don't I won't see it. I do remove commentary from my talk page for a number of reasons. Its not entirely the proper procedures, but that's how I choose to handle it.
- You should be able to undo any edit. You should also be able to move any article if a better name is appropriate.
