I am not a sockpuppet
editSome of the guardians of all that is pure and fanboy approved have accused me of some sorts of wiki crimes. I am not a Meatpuppet, I observed that something I was researching was no longer there and I attempted to put it back in a now acceptable manner. I may have failed, and in that case it should and will be deleted. I am not a Sockpuppet either. I had an account a few years ago where I made a couple of non controversial edits in areas I was able to link to correct information. I don't know what the username or password were, and couldn't find any instructions on how to find out. I got discouraged by the vandalism and protectionism of the the Wikipedia game players and moved on. According to the User Account Policy page "Usernames can be changed by bureaucrats; requests should be made at Wikipedia:Changing username. User accounts with few or no edits will not normally be renamed; it is quicker and easier to simply create a new account." So that is what I did. Apparently, having an existing account with 2 or 3 edits from the past would have proved that I'm a great guy and would never do anything to hurt the sanctity of Wikipedia, but oh well, live and learn.
As for the ComicRack article I attempted to create, opening myself up the the abuse and accusations of the faithful, I was looking to see if there were any better comic viewers available than the one I was using and noticed it was gone. I'm allowed to read up on every plot point on every comic ever published (with no creator credits or critical analysis) but I'm not allowed to read up on tools to view comics. What a great vision of the future this place has. Lastchild (talk) 20:23, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
I have nominated ComicRack, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/ComicRack. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Just a tip
editHi there. I'd just like to leave you a note on sockpuppets and Wikipedia's guidelines on them. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to leave me a message! Cheers, Master of Puppets Care to share? 05:37, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the link boss. I sure hope I do whatever it is you want and not the opposite. It would help if you would be more straightforward with your accusations. Lastchild (talk) 19:42, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
- User:Rzgofv created an account then went straight to the Articles for deletion 21 minutes later. Their only contribution was to that AFD. I'm not accusing you of anything; I'm just suspicious of the circumstances. Of course, the chance exists that a user would create a new account and genuinely be looking for the ComicRack article, but that is very unlikely. In short; please respect Wikipedia's policies.
