A number of things. The list of games doesn't quite go to the end of the line, which would lead me to believe there is something wrong with the coding. (I copied and pasted this from User:J.delanoy/chess; I have no idea how this actually works.)

Anyway, why I came here is because on new games, such as User:Launchballer/chess/active/Buffbills7701, the left-hand side name changes to "Launchballer/chess/active" - how do I change this to "Launchballer"?--Launchballer 17:15, 25 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

I have no idea what list of games and what line you refer to, but the username issue can be fixed by editing User:Launchballer/chess/active/Buffbills7701 and changing {{BASEPAGENAME}} into Launchballer. I'm pretty sure playing chess is covered by WP:NOT though. Huon (talk) 18:33, 25 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
Huon: It isn't. The only thing applicable, "amusement" on WP:NOTBLOG, links to a non-existent section of WP:UN. In fact, I'm pretty sure the existence of WP:ChsC implies that there isn't actually much wrong with it. (I am all for reinstating chess championships under controlled conditions.)--Launchballer 19:01, 25 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
Technical 13: If you look at the section headers, you will notice that the 'line' terminates before the end of the page, at the same point that the chess table does.--Launchballer 19:01, 25 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • 'line' ? Still not sure what you mean? I see no 'line' or section headers. I've centered some stuff and adjusted some padding and boarders (Huon is probably right that this falls under WP:NOT, unless you are using it to test a new coding idea for Chess articles to better display the game). I think this should fix the "line" issue. Also, WP:UP#GAMES exists and says, "Games of no educational value relevant to the project are routinely deleted at MfD." Huon (talk) 20:14, 25 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
I was using popups to view it, and because it was part of a table it didn't appear, just showed the lead section. Yes, that does fix it. But wait, how does that explain WP:ChsC or User:J.delanoy/chess?--Launchballer 20:45, 25 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Please notify me somehow that you've challenged me, whether it's by a notification on the talk page or a notification on my talk page (tagging me on the page does not work). You will only need to do that once because once I've edited the page, I get notifications whenever it's edited. Also, white normally goes first; if you want to be black, set the game up as is and don't move anything. could be rectified by having it start on a talk page and having a section "last move by/on:" where the person moving would replace the content with <code>~~~~</code> each time... Then, since they are changing it is "blah's" turn (which is a link to the next user) and adding a signature, you would get a mention each and every time... You still haven't addressed the "educational" value of these games and how they will be used to improve the wiki... Please do this as I'm waiting to understand that and I'm sure Huon is as well. ;) Technical 13 (talk) 12:23, 26 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
Your fix doesn't help matters; when I click the link, it takes me to User:Launchballer/chess/active/Technical 13. I don't think there is much educational value to these games.--Launchballer 13:57, 26 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
