Battle of Sondani

edit

Hi there! I just wanted to let you know that I reverted your edit that mentioned "The huns repulsed" on the Battle of Sondani article. I'm not sure if this is common terminology, but it seemed to be a bit confusing of phrasing to add to the side infobox that summarizes the article. If you think I've made a mistake, feel free to add it back in! But if you can think of a more descriptive or common phrase, that would be appreciated :) - Whisperjanes (talk) 08:25, 25 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello! Thanks for correcting me. But apparently this battle ended the hunnic dominance in the indian subcontinent permanently and therefore I edited it as "Hunns repulsed". If this phrase doesn't look appropriate to you then maybe we can write "Formal decline of the hunns in india". Correct me if this phrase has a mistake. Thank you. Thanks for your quick response! I hope I didn't bother you with the revert. And actually, upon looking at it further, I think I was wrong in my suggestion. It looks like the documentation on infoboxes for military conflicts mentions that the "result" parameter is only for two standard terms: "X victory" or "Inconclusive". The documentation also suggestions: In cases where the standard terms do not accurately describe the outcome, a link or note should be made to the section of the article where the result is discussed in detail (such as "See the Aftermath section").
You could add "(see Aftermath section)" or "(see Result section)" underneath the "Victory of the Indian rulers", and if the info you are trying to convey isn't already in one of those sections, you could add it in said section. Hopefully that makes sense. - Whisperjanes (talk) 08:56, 25 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
Got it, Thanks for the idea. I am new in Wikipedia and i certainly need to learn more about this.
Moreover thanks for correcting me. Layman7676 (talk) 08:58, 25 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
