editI just found out that Lds realized a marvelous work. A nearly complete translation of Zhuge Liang's biography, very accessible, full of details and precisions. I don't think we will see someone replicates such an excellent work before long therefore I believe it should be transferred to his wiki page to be accessible to everyone. Unfortunately, Lds has been absent for nearly 5 years and will most likely never move it personally. Underbar_dk, do know what happened to him and what could be done? I thought about contacting him via his address mail in his user page. While reading his other contributions, I also found that he did a similar work for [Cao Cao] and [the conquest of Wu]. - @TheWayWeAllGo I, too, have noticed his abrupt absence from Wikipedia and have tried to reach him via email since we've had prior correspondence. Unfortunately, I haven't heard back after 2018 so I must hope he is still doing well. As for this page, I'd hate to see his efforts go to waste. I believe there should be no problem with moving his pages into mainspace provided that he is credited during the move, but maybe you should go to WP:VILLAGE to ask whether and how this could be done. I've never had to move someone else's work from userspace to mainspace myself. _dk (talk) 19:08, 16 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Underbar_dk I also hope he is doing well. Thanks for the suggestion, I will see what I can do.TheWayWeAllGo (talk) 00:15, 18 July 2023 (UTC)
- @Underbar_dk Following previous discussions, I will have to move the content from the page directly. I wanted your confirmation as I thought there would be some way for Wikipedia admins to access Lds's account or to complete the operation on his behalf. In that case, here is the edit summary I would use: Copied content from [[<page name>]]; see that page's history for attribution as Lds's work is an all around far better and complete version of the current Wikipedia page. More detailed and well sourced. For further information, see these two discussions. first and second. I would also add a section about the procedure "Copied content from/to [[<page name>]]; see that page's history for attribution" with the edit summary in the sandbox article and on both of the talk pages.TheWayWeAllGo (talk) 13:50, 21 July 2023 (UTC)
- Looks good to me. As long as a link to this page is given in the edit summary then that counts as attribution. _dk (talk) 19:17, 21 July 2023 (UTC)
