dear,
The original wikipedia's page has been written with so many mistakes that our company decided to check and correct informations since 2022. In 2022, it was already a problem for us to add some corrections. We are currently 2 people surveying the page an potentially adding correct informations. We have decided to update informations on the english version by just traducing the french page.
Some links concerning the page may no longer be available but we did not originally add these references. We will try to find how to fill in the chaotic rules of wikipedia to give readers correct informations. Thanks for your attention Le parc des felins (talk) 13:51, 12 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello Le parc des felins. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Draft:Lumigny Safari Reserve, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Le parc des felins. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Le parc des felins|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. DoubleGrazing (talk) 13:06, 12 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Your account has been blocked from editing because your username gives the impression that the account represents a group, club, organization, company, or website. Your username is the principal reason for the block. You are welcome to continue editing after you have chosen a new username that complies with Wikipedia's username policy, which is summarized here.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable, regardless of the username that you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid or compensated in any way, you must disclose who is paying you to edit here.

Please take a moment to either create a new account, or request a username change of your current account here. The new username that you choose must represent you as an individual person, and it must comply with Wikipedia's username policy.
  • To create a new account with a different username, simply log out of this account and then click here to make a new one.
  • If you prefer to change the username on this account, you may do so by adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page (this page): {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken or in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.

Please also note that you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it also identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".

Appeals: If your username does not represent a group, organization, website, or other entity described above, and if you believe that this block was incorrect or made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

Dear,
I have asked to chage user name not to be confused as I work for the company to update informations about the park. With years there was so many wrong informations added by unknown people.
The french version is correct and we have just begun to translate the english one to avoid mistakes to remain.
Is there is another thing I have to do to continue working on the page ?
I am really sorry but sometimes wikipedia's rules are not understandable... Thanks for your help Le parc des felins (talk) 14:07, 12 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
Wikipedia's "rules" are perfectly understandable, well documented, and pretty stable as well (not 'chaotic' at all, as you said in an earlier comment), but you do have to make an effort to learn and understand them, like with any rules.
One of the rules is that you cannot have a username which is promotional. This is the reason why you have been blocked.
If you manage to change your username and get yourself unblocked, the next rule you need to abide by regards conflicts of interest (COI), and in your case specifically paid-editing. I have already posted in this same thread a message regarding that; please read and understand what this means, and how to properly disclose your COI.
Yet another rule is that promotional editing is not allowed – and 'promotion' is a broader concept than it might seem at first (see WP:YESPROMO).
One more thing – not a rule, but rather a philosophical principle of Wikipedia – is that nobody 'owns' any article. So while you may create an article about your organisation, anyone can edit it. You may call that "wrong informations added by unknown people"; we call it a cornerstone of Wikipedia. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 14:24, 12 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
Dear,
I have asked to change my username and it has been done. If I clearly understand I have to complete username description to explain I work for the company as it was done on the french version of the page, my account is still blocked. How do I get the possibility to work on my username page to finish translation about the page concerning our institution ? Sebastien from Parc des Felins (talk) 07:37, 15 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
Your name has been changed, but your account remains blocked. You need to request it to be unblocked, as detailed in the block notice (that blue box, above). -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 07:54, 15 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Would you agree to read the conflict of interest and paid editing(note that "paid editing" includes general employment) policies and comply as appropriate? 331dot (talk) 09:21, 15 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

@331dot, HJ Mitchell, and DoubleGrazing: Hi,
Please read VRT ticket #2022052210002138. This user's identity already has been checked and the account greenlighted.
Thank you, --Meeloofa Discuss or make Appeal? 12:10, 15 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
I don't have that level of access(I think) but their identity is not at issue; the only issue now is COI concerns. 331dot (talk) 13:50, 15 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
I would really like to comply with your rules, but don't find where I have to declare who am I and for which company I work for. English is not my mother tongue and I really find it complex to do.
Do I have to ask someone to copy the english translations we made and to paste on the page to respect COI ? I did not think I was writing in a commercial view. Some things were added in the park with years and I just tried de describe what was now in it.
If you can help or show me where to find things it would help to close the discussion and not loose more time. thanks Sebastien from Parc des Felins (talk) 14:04, 15 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
Each Wikipedia version has its own rules; what is acceptable on the French Wikipedia is not necessarily acceptable here.
Your English seems pretty good to me, but if your English skill is such that it prevents you from understanding our rules, you should consider just using the French Wikipedia. There is nothing special about the English Wikipedia, it is not better than others. I am going to place a prepared message below with instructions that may be easier to see than the policy itself. If you think you can carry out those instructions, let us know. 331dot (talk) 16:54, 15 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello,
If I clearly understand I just have to complete this to get my account unbloked
I do not have access to my user page to paste this on the page. Next I will have to suggest other EnWikipedia users to add some informations.
I know informatic systems can know give automatic translations, but my director asked me to translate the page in english. So I will inform him rules are not the same in french.
