The term 'brick' is clearly a reference to, well, a brick of heroin. Have you seen the film? The article was wrong, a brick does not and never has referred to a dose of heroin. Have reverted the article again, please leave it as is, unless you would like to improve the wording of the edit. Jakob Reznik (talk) 00:46, 2 October 2008 (UTC)
Articles for the more popular and "star" players of the league need to be expanded, have citations added to them and hopefully we can get some GA's out of them.
All articles on active players and coaches need to be updated with stats, news, and all things important. (Note: For stats it's best to use ArenaFan.)
Also, we NEED to get things done so we can take them off of the to do list.
Current Events
The Kansas City Brigade will hold open tryouts on Sunday, October 12, beginning at 8a.m. at the Kansas City SoccerDome.
Darion Conner, a former member of the Tampa Bay Stormwon the right to a retrial in his DUIManslaughter case. He is currently serving the maximum sentence for the crime, 15 years in state prison. It was also his fifth DUI conviction since 1990, first since 1993.
On September 24, 2008 the VooDoo traded future considerations to the Philadelphia Soul for WR Michael Lewis.
This Month in Football History
October 1, 1955 - Baltimore ColtAlan Ameche became the first rookie in NFL history to rush for more than 100 yards in his first two games after totaling 153 yards against Detroit. He had 194 yards in his debut against Chicago.
Our goal is to get the number of Stub-Class articles down to 0, in due time. The current article count is listed below, I have placed the forumla that is on the project page that is updated everytime the bot is run and it tallies up our articles and where they are and lists them as seen below, so that no one has to worry about making sure it's updated manually before the newsletter is sent out. It would be greatly appreciated if anyone could help expand and/or source an article or two. A list is provided in the stub-class category of stub articles that need to be improved, and some should be fairly easy.

Hi! I see that you were one of the participants in the recent AfD on the article Christianity and Judaism. That AfD recommended (in a snowball result) that the article be merged into Judeo-Christian. However, since the AfD concerns have been raised, most notably
The reason the article Judeo-Christian exists, as its own hatnote declares, is specifically to survey the history and use of that word-phrase -- which has its own controversy, and its own tale to tell. (See here where I've set things out in a bit more detail.) That story is a good fit for its own article, and will get completely lost if the contents of Christianity and Judaism get inappropriately dumped on top of it.
Having contacted the closing admin, his advice was to open a new discussion at Talk:Christianity and Judaism, advertise the discussion widely, and if a new consensus can be reached in that discussion [his emphasis], then per WP:CCC the new consensus should be followed, rather than the AfD decision, without the need for a DRV or a new AfD.
Of course, some significant issues were raised in the AfD about the article in its present form, so the best way forward is a question that needs some thought. Please feel welcome to come and participate! Jheald (talk) 07:50, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

Just to let you know that there has been a recent update to the criteria for relisting AFDs. You can see the full details at WP:RELIST. The main update is that relisting an AFD a second time should only be done in exceptional circumstances. I'm letting you know because you have recently been active in relisting AFDs. Hello Legoktm,
could you add WikiProject Physics to the AlertBot list? (Page: WikiProject Physics; Banner: Physics) They originally requested the bot, so I'd like to have them in the test phase. --B. Wolterding (talk) 18:23, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

Hi, you mentioned you might look into writing a script to help us with the AfC submissions. Well, it seems we are sticking with this new process so perhaps you could look into this when you have time? Thanks, MSGJ16:11, 6 October 2008 (UTC)

Need help with cite-format (article almost ready for another FAC)
Latest comment: 16 years ago1 comment1 person in discussion
Hi. I hope you don't mind me dropping in uninvited. I found you at the Citation cleanup project. You see, the article on Sitakunda Upazila failed an FAC mostly because of cite-format issues (inconsistent format, missing bits of information etc.). I have fixed all the issues raised, but, I feel, an expert hand may be needed to fix further problems. Would you take a look? Please? I, of course will be there to provide any clarification or information necessary. Aditya(talk • contribs)13:42, 21 October 2008 (UTC)

Hi Legoktm,
The new reference style on the Nathan F Cobb Shipwreck article is much more aesthetic and organized looking. With me being a "noob" in the Wikipedia domain, I was wondering if you have a link or a template to that particular reference style? Thanks.

A bot that checks weekly for broken links sounds like a great idea. Would it be possible for the bot to check all pages that have been tagged by WP:ROBO weekly? (Feel free to reply here.) - Dan Dank55 (send/receive) 20:23, 24 October 2008 (UTC)

Hello Legoktm,
here's a new version of the bot [1]. There are some wording changes, and the bot may now more often request pages from the live wiki (in connection with GA nominations). But the main change is that the self-service subscription system is now implemented. At the beginning of each bot run, the bot will download subscriptions from Category:ArticleAlertbot subscriptions. These are added to the alertsubscr table; they can be identified as having the "auto_subscription" field set to 1. Existing, manually configured subscriptions will not be modified. This step is included in AlertsBatch, but can also be called individually as org.toolserver.alertbot.SubscriptionBatch.
It seems to work fine. Also, while some features and improvements are still in discussion/development, perhaps it is a good time now to open the bot for subscription. (Probably that will generate more feedback anyway, and more improvements to implement...) Is it OK for you if we call the bot "productive" now and invite projects to subscribe? I'd write a short message to those that said they're interested on User:B. Wolterding/Article alerts. --B. Wolterding (talk) 16:05, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
B.Wolterding tells me that since WP:PHYS was part of the test phase bot will ignore the subscription template for now, and that I should ask you to make AAB not ignore the template when you are ready. So... if/when you don't need to ignore the template, could you make AAB not ignore it? Thanks. Headbomb {ταλκ – WP Physics: PotW} 09:19, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
Just in case, what I was referring to was deleting the manually configured subscription from the database -- something like: DELETE FROM alertsubscr WHERE project="WikiProject Physics"; --B. Wolterding (talk) 16:42, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

This- are you trying to blind the vandals attempting to vandalize your userpage? >^.^< I think I was blinded for a second by all that red, you know :D IceUnshattered[ t ]20:55, 25 October 2008 (UTC)
Hm... the database wasn't exactly down, it seems more like a software bug, probably in the bot code. At the moment, I'm clueless however why it appears now and never before. Will come back to you once I have a solution or workaround. --B. Wolterding (talk) 08:16, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
Unfortunately I was not able to reproduce the problem on my local computer; but then, I'm not running on the same data set. I have prepared a new version of the bot [3] which, among other changes, contains a workaround for the problem (I hope). If the bot still terminates with an error, please post the AlertsBatch.log. Also, the JAR file contains a test batch, org.toolserver.alertbot.DebugBatch; please run this once and post the DebugBatch.log it produces. This should at least show which SQL statement precisely triggers the error message. --B. Wolterding (talk) 12:54, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
