Use of Preview
editYour repeated edits to Canaletto, which look like several attempts to get it right, make me wonder if you are aware of the Preview function. If you use the "Show Preview" button under the edit box, or Alt-P, you can see exactly the page as it would be after your edits, before committing it to the database, and your edit box is still there. There's nothing intrinsically wrong with saving repeated edits (disk is cheap), but it makes the page history unnecessarily longer, and other readers will, however briefly, see the incorrect page. Wikipedia syntax - especially the references mechanism! - can be complex, and even the most experienced editors need the preview function. I've just used it three times while typing this :-)
Hope this helps, and welcome to Wikipedia! David Brooks (talk) 20:57, 22 April 2016 (UTC)
