Archimedean spiral

edit

I reverted the new section "Determining Pitch from Length and Turns" that you added to Archimedean spiral. The derivations of the formulas that you give in that section are not at all clear (for example, where does the constant 161.6386321668302 come from ?). If you want to add this material to the article, please provide a reference to a reliable source that shows how the formulas are derived. Gandalf61 (talk) 08:11, 2 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

I have removed your new section again, because you added it back without providing a source. I also noticed that you changed the constant in your final expression from 161.6386321668302 to 42.51258829641819. This suggests that this section is based on your own calculations. Original work is not allowed in Wikipedia - see our policy on original research. As I said before, if you want to add this material to the article, you must provide a reliable source for it.
