BC/BCE AD/CE controversy
BC/BCE AD/CE
Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style_(dates_and_numbers). Either is acceptable. I don't really care either way. But, now the article has both forms. Just my opinion, but it probably would have been better left alone.--Kevin 20:40, 4 November 2005 (UTC)
- Never mind. It's been covered on the talk page. I didn't realize that BCE/CE were there first.--Kevin 01:06, 5 November 2005 (UTC)
Red vs Blue messages
In my opinion, regarding your question "Who is Lachie?” located in the summary of your reverts of the article, to my knowledge, no such character was ever introduced or referenced in the Red vs. Blue series yet and thus should have no place in this article.
The person referenced by the nickname Lachie (and sometimes by the full name), is quite possibly is someone the vandal knows though a multiplayer game, such as the Halo series. It is apparent from these edits, the vandal harbors some grudge against this person, presumably for team-killing and unsolicited irrelevant statements.
The vandalism is highly detrimental of the person referenced, pointing out similarities with the character Caboose in several traits and is quite noticeable due to the awkward change in perspective (like the use of ‘we’ to reinforce dislike), abrupt or nonexistent transitions, and the use of statements that break the fourth wall.
I sincerely hope I have answered your question to the best of my opinion, and wish you thanks in your efforts in contributing to Wikipedia and in repairing vandalized articles.

Red vs Blue edits
I renamed the articles. The parent article was Red vs Blue and the subarticles were Red vs Blue episode guide, Red Vs. Blue episode guide: Season 2, Red Vs. Blue episode guide: Season 3, and Red Vs. Blue episode guide: Season 4. I changed all the "Vs." to "vs" to match the parent, and added "Season 1" to the first season's episode guide. - Brian Kendig 04:06, 16 November 2005 (UTC)
Help me with something, please.

...And I'll try not to mess up again. Just, how do you sign your name in discussion? I'm assuming there's a button somewhere.
Sorry about messing up...let's see...twice in the RvB page. Both were with basically factual infomration, so that was a mistake. Thanks for being nice about it.
Feel free to delete this off your discussion if you feel the need to.
Recent edits to the Characters page
I'm kind of wishy-washy on the last sentence of Sheila's bio that you deleted. On one hand, it is an interesting character development bit for Sheila; on the other hand, we don't know whether it's significant or not. Iguess that I'd say that we should wait until episode 72 to see whether it has any lasting importance.
As for the section on Tex, I redid some of your edits. I agree with breaking that paragraph in two, but try to avoid past tense as the main tense of a sentence in narrating fiction; it's better to use present, present perfect, or past perfect if you can. -- TKD 10:23, 18 January 2006 (UTC)
Users saying Hi!
OK, you talked me into it
Hi Lifestar,
I'm now a registered Wikipedian. I'll get a personal page up by the weekend and will think about officially joining the Counter Vandalism Unit.

Warning vandals
Hi. I saw you put the recent Cheese vandal up on WP:AIV, and I wanted to remind you that without warnings on a vandal's talk page... and continued vandal edits after repeated warnings... its unlikely that an admin would block the vandal. Its reasonably easy to follow the vandal's link from the history page and place a {{subst:test}} on their page, letting them know that what they are doing is not appreciated.
Thanks for looking after Cheese! :) --Syrthiss 15:36, 8 November 2005 (UTC)
Please use "subst" on user talk pages
That is bluebot
If you read the talk page that you gave a test4 on, you would have seen that message. Bluebot sometimes gets logged out and runs on that ip. Bluebot is an authorized bot. --Syrthiss 16:21, 15 November 2005 (UTC)
- hehe not a prob :) --Syrthiss 16:31, 15 November 2005 (UTC)
string replacement bot
The bot doing "string replacements" is my bot, it logs out very occasionally. Martin 16:24, 15 November 2005 (UTC)

User Vandalism
It's funny! But... seriously... User_talk:142.46.202.131 has vandalised the Garneau web-page. I will revert his change. I hope this is enough information to substantiate any disciplinary actions. --CyclePat 16:10, 18 November 2005 (UTC)
- Maybe we can make a page so former and present students can associate themself to the page... kinda like the babel EN. I'm not sure how to do that though? --CyclePat 16:16, 18 November 2005 (UTC)
About Clay Aiken
Thank you for your quick coverage and reversion of the Clay Aiken page. WebTraveler 23:54, 21 November 2005 (UTC)
65.116.102.4 is now blocked
The vandal using IP address 65.116.102.4 has been blocked now for a second time. For future reference, three final warnings are more than sufficient to impose a temporary restriction from editing upon someone who is engaging in rampant vandalism. ;-) Hall Monitor 20:32, 22 November 2005 (UTC)
- Yes, I know that the user had more than 3 warnings, which is enough for blockage, but I was attempting to put in further record of the vandalism going on. I just wanted to make sure we keep an extensive logs for vandals, so it will make it easier to realize the vandal's past attacks and history. Either case, thanks again for blocking the guy.--LifeStar 20:39, 22 November 2005 (UTC)
- That is fair and understandable. When any given IP address begins to show a sizeable track record of vandalism with a history of blocks, you may also place the {{repeat vandal}} template atop the talk page so other administrators may review a complete list of contributions and blocks in real-time. Hall Monitor 20:46, 22 November 2005 (UTC)
- I'm on this IP right now; this is a ip of all the computer labs (i think) of Wayzata High School. (http://www.wayzata.k12.mn.us/) I suggest blocking this IP too. Too many immature freshmen keep valdalizing pages. kezyxes
- Well, what's Wikipedia's usual policy towards shared IPs? I've put a shared IP notice on User_talk:65.116.102.4, but I don't know what else we should do.
- Oh, and, it's an IP of practically every computer at Wayzata High School, including the AP CompSci laptops, and, I suspect, the teachers' computers. --Zarel 21:00, 5 January 2006 (UTC)
Re: IP addresses
Yeah, I know we can get the IP addresses of the anonymous users and track down their location. However, I just wasn't sure whether WITHIN that location (e.g.- a library) we could always track down which floor/room/computer the vandal was using. It depends on how that building has their internet set up, and whether each computer has its own unique IP address. EWS23 | (Leave me a message!) 22:19, 22 November 2005 (UTC)
This user deserves a level 3 and I will block next time he vandalizes. ≈ jossi fresco ≈ t • @ 18:13, 29 November 2005 (UTC)
Blocking
cut-and-pasted from Adminstrator Intervention: 216.124.227.36 (talk • contribs • page moves • block • block log) Has been vandalizing user talk pages. Has history of vandalism before. Please block immediately.--LifeStar 21:05, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
- This user seems to have received Test2, test3 and test4 within the space of a few minutes, and not to have vandalised after those warnings, so should NOT be blocked (yet). Is there something I'm missing? The Land 21:14, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
- This user has been blocked before, upon this kind of history, an immediate block is usually the procedure to follow.--LifeStar 21:15, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
- It's a school address, so probably another newbie; while corporal punishment might be in order, blocking probably isn't atm. The Land 21:17, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
- This user has been blocked before, upon this kind of history, an immediate block is usually the procedure to follow.--LifeStar 21:15, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
Administrator intervention isn't the place for discussion, so I've moved this here. As per the guidelines on the page, please don't re-list him until there's more evidence of vandalism after warnings. The Land 21:22, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
That's fine, I am simply bringing an awareness of the IP's past history. It has been enacted several times already today that past offending IP addresses would be blocked immediately once a vandalism has occurred. I personally believe that we need to limit this kind of activity before it grows out of hand and leaves us having to repair more work than needed. If you don't think it's warranted a blocking, then that's your decision. I'll keep an eye on that IP anyways. --LifeStar 21:27, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
Although I agree with the idea you express there, unfortunately it's not quite that easy. 155.232.250.19 is one of a set of (IIRC three) caching proxies used by the Tertiary Education Network (whois info at [1]), an organisation which provides Internet connectivity to virtually all the universities and colleges in South Africa - at the time of writing, 52 different institutions (list at [2]). This proxy could theoretically be used by any student from any of those institutions. Much as I support any attempt to find and discipline anyone who commits an act of vandalism, I suspect that the scale (and the layers of bureaucracy involved) would make such a task impossible. (For an idea of the scale, we are talking about multiple universities with more than 20 000 students each.) (I also added this message to the IP's talk page.) - htonl 20:21, 18 January 2006 (UTC)

Veronica Belmont article Afd
Hello, I checked also and you are right, it is not listed at articles for deletion. Since editors have already voted I am not sure that it can be removed outside process or listed this late . I will get back to you on that because of a need to consult with an editor who is much more familiar with the Afd process. It's not going anywhere just yet so give me time to get you an answer. Thanks.--Dakota ~ 03:50, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
- It's done. Another more experienced editor in Afd said it can be listed late so I did. If you need any more help let me know. Thanks.--Dakota ~ 04:36, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
Thanks
Thanks for removing the vandalism from my talk page.Ganfon 22:10, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
