Removal criteria for list of fps

edit

Hi Lijnema, I notice you deleted warrock from the list, could you add a reason for the deletion to the talk page, ie which criteria for inclusion it does not meet. There is also a discussion on which criteria are definitive so you may like to add to that as well. Thanks Htaccess 21:08, 28 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Done. --Lijnema 22:28, 28 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for Image:EP3 cover.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:EP3 cover.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 12:05, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

Mercedes-Benz Mixed Tapes

How would you be able to provide those? Upload to an FTP or something? If you need, I can provide a location. --TIB (talk) 00:43, 6 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Are you talking about the actual files? Because, just so you know, we're talking about 1.2GB there. I could upload them somewhere, but you can also get them from http://broadcast.sexy-admin.de/library/2 as torrents. Same place also has the track listings (just click on the album pictures, or names. --Lijnema 11:12, 6 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Don't delete my page!

edit

The Zombie Plan page is just a fun page. It's for me and a few friends to disclose our thoughts about the threat of zombies and stuff. Also the page with be an ongoing page and won't be complete for some time. So please don't delete the page! AfraidOfUndead 02:05, 7 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

First of all, I won't do any deleting per se, I'm just putting the tag there so someone else will. As much as fun pages are fun to have, Wikipedia isn't really the place for it. Perhaps you could put up a webpage on Google pages/Geocities/etc, or make a forum about zombies and how to beat them. I'm sure there are loads of fun things you write about zombies with your friends, but this isn't really the place to do it. You could perhaps even write a bit about zombie defence on your own userpage, I don't think anyone would complain about that (as long as you realise that Wikipedia isn't a webhost of course ;). --Lijnema 02:09, 7 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Popups

edit

You may want to avoid reverting non-vandalous edits using popups (like removal of speedy tags) because it might cause you to miss test edits/vandalism that also need reverting :-( Miltopia 00:51, 11 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

I reverted that article just to get back my speedy deletion tag, which had been removed. I didn't really feel like cleaning up an article I felt needed speedy deleting anyway. :) --Lijnema 00:56, 11 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Vandal tags

Hi, Thanks for your helpful suggestions! I'm quite new to this and still learning (hopefully). I keep getting very annoyed with everyone using wikipedia as a medium to promote themselves, their band, product etc. Again, thanks for you suggestions. thats okay. can you help me delete it?N734LQ 21:48, 12 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

If you want the page to be deleted you can remove the {{tl:hangon}} from the article page, letting the admins know that you're not opposing the deletion. And perhaps also writing something to that effect on Talk:Ronald Saario, saying that you don't mind if it gets deleted. Don't feel to bad about it, we all make mistakes, and there are a lot of guidelines for what there should and shouldn't be articles about on Wikipedia. And if someone posts a mean message in response to you, or on your talk page, just stay calm :) --Lijnema 21:56, 12 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

can do. how do i sign up to become and admin. i feel i have the proper qualifications, and have shown that by not getting vandalism warnings. can you help?N734LQ 21:58, 12 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Well, you can nominate yourself and others at WP:RFA. But I am guessing that first of all you'd need to be around for quite a while longer, and probably also be able to find answers to questions like that on your own. ;) --Lijnema 22:03, 12 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

lijnema:thank you for your help. i'd like to retain you as a help source. you seem like a nice person to me, and a a caring one at that. i thank you for your help for advising me not to become and admin yet. i really didnt have proper qualifications quite yet. well see 'ya round, eh? — Preceding unsigned comment added by N734LQ (talkcontribs)

Zeal_(WoW_guild)

edit

user_talk:klondike151 I'm not sure what else you wanted in Zeal_(WoW_guild). Do you need more proof that it exists? More references? Links to web articles that cite it? I felt my article was verifiable (that the group exists) by my external links and that it was as neutral as can be regarding a large group's feelings/thougts. Any more help to make my article more 'noteable' would be appreciated.

Just because something exists doesn't mean it should be on Wikipedia. Also, the article (or perhaps a comment of yours on the talk page) said the guild was over a hundred members large, that sounds quite small to me. Anyway I found guidelines for clubs and similar, which say that "The club, society, or organization has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent of the club, society, or organization itself." That means blog posts, forum posts, more or less all personal webpages and so on don't count. --Lijnema 11:09, 15 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please don't confuse this issue by giving out inappropriate vandalism warnings. Removing sourced information is bad, but it's not blanking, or any other type of vandalism. Blanking is removing the whole page, or replacing it with nonsense, out of malice. This AfD was a particularly messy one. I got rid of all the links - they were more than I expected. I afraid that you'll have to nominate Fencing Hire and Derek Rynenberg separately for deletion though, because they are not tagged for AfD then. RE: Intelliteach (proposed deletion)

edit

To Lijnema: I can't argue with the deletion template according to your edit. I searched for any valid publications that mention the company with no luck. Besides self-advertising as a Vendor on the ILTA page and various Law-tech publications, I can't find any criteria that coincides with the suggested standards. I'll have to hold off adding until I can find something valid in the future. I won't re-add it until then. Sorry for the trouble. It was my first add and I hadn't read up on the policies initially. Should I blank the page or just leave your template as is? - Oldmanriddle 18:08, 12 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hello Mr. Robert A. Schwartz MD, MPH, FAAD, FACP. In short: No, I'm not going to remove it. I am a bit annoyed that you have the nerve to almost demand that I should be part of recreating a deleted article about her, and not only that but also remove parts of my talk page about her bad behaviour. I have to admit I can't be totally sure about this, but as I remember it that bit on my talk page is there because she was doing two no-nos, namely writing about herself, and recreating deleted pages. So I don't really care how many books she's published, articles she's written, or how fond she is of acronyms (same goes for you), the page was rightfully deleted at that point, and she was doing things she shouldn't have been doing.
If you have a nice list of why there should be an article about her, go ahead with your deletion review, and please believe me when I say that I do wish you luck with it, but please, please don't bother me about it. --Lijnema 21:49, 11 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:EP3 cover.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:EP3 cover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 05:59, 2 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Image licensing

edit

Why are you removing the licensing tag from File:Kleptones, updown cover.jpg? Remember that images need to have a licensing tag; the non-free use rationale only explains the circumstances in which we can use our non-free images. (ESkog)(Talk) 03:13, 12 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

  • I got the impression that it was a template used when a non-free rationale wasn't present yet, since it included text asking the uploader to add such a rationale. I'm sorry for the mistaken removal. --Lijnema (talk) 11:48, 12 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
