Oh crap

Hey, so i just got wind that Kesha is releasing a new deluxe edition of Animal for Christmas. How the hell do i incorporate this into the page? Do i add a new section like "Re-Release" or do i add more information the the background and development cause theres already a fair amount of info available. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 04:19, 4 September 2010 (UTC)

Honestly? You're writing section is more about the music so I would change this to Music and Lyrics. The background section should could be split Background and then also development. In the latter you can include re-release section if there is relevant sourced information. Another method for incorporating the information is to change promotion to promotion and release and then include the information there. A third way of doing it would be to wait for the release of the new version the commenting on it in the chart performance section e.g. A re-release featuring new songs was released in 2010 and debuted at number x on ABC chart".
I heard that the re-release will have 5-9 NEW songs :O -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me
Yeah im going to split it in a second, i was thinking about that. And theres alot of info so far, Billboard did a cover story on Dr.Luke, here and he talks about it a fair amount. Im hoping she does a Gaga or Usher and just releases it as like Animal 2.0 as an EP. That would be much easier. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 04:41, 4 September 2010 (UTC)
Yeah or she could release Animal Instinct (her version of the Fame Monster) lol. I don't know why but I have a sudden urge to say Dr.Luke doens't look how I expected him too LOL! not that its relevant to the convo HAHA. Erm on a serious note, If the album is called The Platinum edition it is more than acceptable to create a new section called 'The Platinum Edition' into the track listing and add some info there. If new info about the songs recorded becomes available those can be tacked into a paragraph on the end of the recording/production section. =P -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me
HAH, he didnt look like i had pictured either. And i rather like Animal Instinct. Well ill probably just add info to "Development and inspiration", "Tracklisting" and "Music and Lyrics". Ill be irritated if it gets reviews and isnt classified as an EP though cause thats gunna be a huge pain. Oh well, still two months away, that means a new single next month, waaaaahoooooooooooooooo! :) - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 04:55, 4 September 2010 (UTC)
HA! Glad she's making more work for you lol. Just kidding, it's gonna be good... in a way i think its too early for her second album but I do think she needs more singles and Animal doesnt have many more radio-friendly singles. Although "Stephen" would probably be a good single. Btw I was thinking of nominating another article for GA you wouldn't be interested in doing the review by any chance? There was something else I was going to say too but completely forgot... -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me
Ugh, im not glad lol. I was hoping she would release Dancing With Tears In My Eyes as the 5th and final single then release a new single in like Feb for a new album so i could GA the album and everything for GA Topic already.... Oh Well. (Side note im glad she Scrapped Backstabber as a single, it was suppose to be the first one instead of Tik Tok =O ) And truthfully i hate "Stephen", its the only song i dont like from her. And what are you going to nominate, i may be interested :P - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 05:07, 4 September 2010 (UTC)
"Tik Tok" is a legend of a single. Its so awesome. I was listening to if for like months before I had any idea of the name of the girl singing it lol. I would walk round the house miming it and everyone was like wtf are you singing! LMAO. Hmm you might have noticed i've become a bit of a Kelly Rowland stan lately =P. well I've been working on "When Love Takes Over" whenever I've been free. I've just got the introduction left to do then I think it will be ready. I've tried to be really maticulous but you know what its like sometimes you can miss things. -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me 05:15, 4 September 2010 (UTC)
HAH, its amazing how big she hit it off with just one single. Yeah ill review it. Giving it a quick glace (2 seconds) the music video image fails NFCC big time. It should be deleted. But Rowland is such a good artist, i dont much care for Beyonce (music wise) and Rowlands first four singles are soo good, cant wait for the album. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 05:19, 4 September 2010 (UTC)
Okies well this is another article I've inherited so I had to make use with what was available already. I'll watch the video again and see if there's a more appropriate scene to take a snapshot of. Yup I agree all the music so far has been really good. Im kind jealous though that the US and Canada are getting "Rose Colored Glasses" with a 3D video! :(. okies cheers. I'll sort the introduction, music video image etc. out and give it a copy edit in the next couple of days. Then I'll let you know... =) when its ready for review. -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me

FLC

Hi Unique, thanks for the help! Although the tables don't look aligned for some reason :S. Anyway, if all is good in your eyes, can you please express how you feel (in terms of Support, Neutral or Oppose) at the FLC page? Thanks!--PeterGriffinTalk 17:50, 3 September 2010 (UTC)

Oh, lol, sorry about that. I thought you didn't notice my last post since you didn't respond lol. I understand, makes sense. Thanks for the feedback! :)--PeterGriffinTalk 18:03, 3 September 2010 (UTC)

Woohoo

I think it would be a good idea to start a discussion again about Woohoo being an actual single. The fact is that the song...

  • Has no official cover
  • Was only released digitally as a single
  • The song was only released digitally as a part of the pre-order of Bionic
  • The song received a very limited radio release
  • It has no music video

With all that said, the song should really be considered a promo single only. But I think before anything happens, it should be discussed. —ΣПDiПG-STΛЯT (talk) 23:30, 4 September 2010 (UTC)

But just because she sung it live (which was only once I believe,) and the fact that it was sent to radio, doesn't make it an official single. For example Go Girl (Ciara song) was released to radio as well, but it is considered a promo single. And even though the song wasn't on her album Fantasy Ride that doesn't make much difference. It could easily be a non-album single. And the fact that of the 5 things I said, 4 of them are relevant enough to consider Woohoo just a promo single rather than an official single.
With love, ΣПDiПG–STΛЯT (Send me a message) 05:55, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
I don't want it to be deleted, I'd just like to open a discussion on it's talk page, but I'm not really sure how to go about it really. I understand what you mean, but still the fact it has no single cover, video and how I believe that it was only released because it leaked and probably part of a pre-order special, (which I know is considered original research.) I think that the page should be something similar to [[Speechless (Lady Gaga song). And even though it wasn't technically released as a promo single, it charted in some places, had no video, single cover, etc.
With love, ΣПDiПG–STΛЯT (Send me a message) 16:53, 5 September 2010 (UTC)

Helllloo!

Hi Lil-unique, long time no talk! Hope everything is fine with you. My time on Wiki is not as much as it used to these days due to the combination of school and after-school activities, and then my website using the spare time I do have! Lol. Anyway, I was wondering if you had any spare time could you just not full out scope the pages but just quickly skim Return the Favor, Turnin Me On, and Slow Dance for any errors that just jump out? I really want to go ahead and GA-nom them so I won't have too many things on my list that I need to get done. When I do get on I try to work on too many things, which is one reason I forgot all about Woohoo :(. Anyway, Ciara is performing at the VMAs!! Everything is finally looking up for her. As for Kelly, smh. She is still going in with producers as of this weekend! To not make things any better, she hasn't released neither the RCG and GW videos. RCG is finally made it into the Pop Songs (for some reason its not in Billboard's monday update though :[ ) but is barely hanging on, and GW is tanking quickly out of urban airplay. Ugh. Anyway, Cheers! Candyo32 22:20, 6 September 2010 (UTC)

I know, same here! I have so many things that I wanted to do before school kicks into high gear, especially get Justin Bieber and Usher's album to Good topics. I think Kelly could have stayed with Matthew Rowland and done better than this. Idk why they are making it such a necessity to get her in the studio with all these producers. I mean I would have rather her pulled a Ciara or Mariah and get Tricky & Dream to do the whole thing, but for some reason they are shopping around with all this producers. And although it is my article, I do think Woohoo could be a Ga once the errors are cleared up, considering it has a wayyyyy wider scope than a GA like U Smile or Favorite Girl. But back to Ciara, Jive/LaFace is doing all the right things now, all she needs is some official promotion. I mean going around to all this clubs and gigs isn't worth it if she doesn't take care of live televised stuff first. Candyo32 22:39, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
I used to use FMQB.com but then I began using Allaccess.com because it offers so much more. You have to sign-up for the latter site though, but its quick and easy. It is great! I like using it because I can tell what songs my favorite local stations have added and the top 50 songs played on each station, and the year-to-date stats for each song and station. etc. And you see the Top 50 of all formats, unlike the top 40 on FMQB. You can also check the spincreases, which songs are taking off, most added songs, and other cool things. But back to RCG, I guess it doesn't officially debut until Billboard reports it, since the radio info is just given by Mediabase. Candyo32 23:02, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
Yes, if you don't mind :) And hopefully Slow Dance has GA-potential also. Keep in mind WP:GA? says as long as it addresses the main aspects of the topic, and that "This requirement is significantly weaker than the "comprehensiveness" required of featured articles; it allows shorter articles, articles that do not cover every major fact or detail, and overviews of large topics." :) Candyo32 23:14, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for the help!! & I know I have to removed the image thing. Me and Lakeshade fought to save it but that stupid NFCC#8. Candyo32 23:53, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
No problem! Anything to make it better, lol ! Candyo32 23:58, 6 September 2010 (UTC)

Jlo sales

This is regarding Jennifer Lopez sales, I've posting mny reliable links about sales including: Rollingstone magazine http://www.rollingstone.com/music/artists/jennifer-lopez/news/artists/8828/61635/61651,

Time magazine http://www.time.com/time/photoessays/10questions/0,30255,1672593_1464732,00.html#ixzz0wt8CeHva,

An interview with Jennifer Lopez where she confirms sales for more than 40 million albums.http://beyond-beautiful.org/topic/13944

I even brought an article from a page from Sony Music from the year 2005 http://www.dualdisc.com/press-content08.html, where they confirm record sales for more than 35 million, and that was BEFORE she launch "Rebirth" , "Como ama una mujer" and "Brave".

I brought another article from the show American Idol confirming sales for more than 48 million http://www.showbizspy.com/article/49826/american-idol-lineup-to-include-gwen-stefani-jennifer-lopez-diana-ross.html

Now, you only count certifications in USA, UK and Germany, ...what about her certifications and sales in Canada, France, Australia, Spain, Italy, Rest of Europe (Russia, Greece, and other countries), Latin America and Japan where her albums also chart and she is big as well?? ...sorry but I think you don't know everything about Jennifer Lopez's sales, so you're not the right people to decide how much she has sold. I think we should stick to reliable media articles like the ones I brought!

and I found my sources more reliable than a tabloid called The Mirror.co.uk, or Contact Music those sources are not reliable at all and what is the date for those articles? ...I mean I thought you would take reliable sources!

The articles that I brought are recent, the date is important. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Brunca2 (talkcontribs) 21:22, 7 September 2010 (UTC)

I don't know where is the "talk page" I would be happy to discuss "Jennifer Lopez sales" there but I don't know where to go?? so I writing this here.

And with respect on your sources, You (or anybodyelse here) has brought only NON reliable sources or links, ....your links are from "The Mirror Uk" ..... give me a break! ...you know what kind of tabloide is that? ...and for "Contact Music" they only report RAMDON information that they found in the web, nothing official or accurate!

anyway, where are your links from Sony??

I brought a link from an official Sony page FROM 2005, where they confirmed 35 million records sold for Lopez, ..and that was at the moment they launched her 5th studio album ref: http://www.dualdisc.com/press-content08.html.

and I do bring links from Sony, you don't!

I feel there is a complot here against Lopez and it seems there is nothing I can do, but that only probes that the information written on Wikipedia is NOT reliable at all, I will make sure that all my friends will know what kind of website this is, everybody knows that the "The mirror UK" is a sensationalist tabloid and "Contact music" is not accurate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Brunca2 (talkcontribs) 14:49, 8 September 2010 (UTC)

Response to Bubbling Under

I, too, am rather confused about the XML thing. Though I can't explain to you what you asked for, I can tell you that you are not the only one who is confused. EnDaLeCoMpLeX (talk) 00:06, 9 September 2010 (UTC)

Lol, wow you took the words right outta my mouth!! It is pretty ridiculous though how Billboard thinks they're doing such a great job with keeping readers and us Wiki-nerds (haha) "updated" on all things music. However, when you look at the big picture, they really aren't doing squat! EnDaLeCoMpLeX (talk) 00:17, 9 September 2010 (UTC)

XML chart info

Of course, I'm no expert, since I'm the one who brought up the question at Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style (record charts)#Bubbling Under Hot 100, but here's how it appears to me:

Ordinarily, we go around looking at Web pages (or in Billboard's paper issues or books) for chart info, and we eventually find some sort of table. Those of us with working eyes have no trouble with tables, so we pick out the "3" for "Waka Waka" and we're done.

However, Billboard offers an online resource that lets subscribers (like Kww) get some set of chart information programmatically. There's what computer programmers call an API for that, or Application programming interface. That's just a way for programmers of one system to determine how other systems can access data or make something happen. Anyway, using this API in some software he decides to create, Kww can request and then get a bunch of chart info. And what he actually gets is an XML file. I think you can actually get the same XML file by going to this BB page and typing in the same request by hand that Kww puts in his code.

So now you (and Kww, and I) have this XML file; what do we do with it? Well, if we try to open it in Firefox, we see the blurred-together data EnDaLeCoMpLeX posted some of over at the Record Charts talk page. The artist names and song names and chart names and positions all run together. Not very useful.

If we open the files with Internet Explorer (IE) or, say, Notepad, we see the actual structure along with the data. See Kww's posting. The actual XML includes <artist>Selena Gomez & The Scene</artist>, so humans have a chance of picking out the artist name. <name>Euro Digital Songs</name> lets us figure out the chart name, etc. Actually, this is all really meant for software (like some program Kww might write) to read, which is why there's no actual table to be seen; the computer software just picks out the position for this artist on that chart. Now, maybe that software presents the data as a table, or in some other way, but the actual table is XML (and Firefox, which I happen to use most, strips out the element identifiers, thanks for nothing).

The question is whether such XML files qualify as acceptable refs for WP purposes. Apparently, these things aren't getting updated anymore, but that doesn't mean older chartings (for Bubbling Unders, especially, since BB neglects to post them online) wouldn't be solid, reliable refs. For those of us who can read them, that is.

Clearer? — JohnFromPinckney (talk) 00:26, 9 September 2010 (UTC)

  • (Intervene) - Before I would do it, if I were to copy the code I posted on the Record talk page and paste it into say Wordpad, the code should form a table? Like you referred to for "Waka Waka"? I'm just trying to understand how this works. EnDaLeCoMpLeX (talk) 00:32, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
No, no table. First of all, the stuff you pasted is incomplete; your browser has thoughtfully (ha!) stripped out all the labels for the elements that make it easier for humans (and even possible for computers) to figure out what's the artist and what's the chart name.
Second of all, if you pasted the entire XML file you see in IE, you still only get... an XML file. It's meant to be a way to store and transfer information, in an easy-to-agree-upon format, with the benefit that we humans can figure out the contents by studying them. (Some data storage formats look like sheer gobbledygook, or you can pick out only part of the data.) If you want a table to look at, you'll need to either program some software to read the XML file and copy the right bits into a table for you, or you need to make a table and pick out the data bits "by hand" for copying into your table. — JohnFromPinckney (talk) 00:52, 9 September 2010 (UTC)

and yet.... their it is Pink Friday Theuhohreo (talk) 15:04, 9 September 2010 (UTC)

Only Girl

So i just did an overhaul of Only girl. From this =S to this. When do you think i should remove the redirect. The article is getting alot of coverage. Should we wait till it charts or just wait till we get some more reviews and the music video section is available? - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 20:38, 8 September 2010 (UTC)

TBH m8, at the moment there's not much difference between the two. It is still not notable and coverage from reliable sources. When there is specifically more information about the song's background etc. that couldnt be included at the Rihanna page, and when there is a confirmed purchase date it will be more appropriate I think. We're trying to avoid the situation we had with "Wait your Turn" (is it or isn't it a single? official single? promo single etc.) -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me
Alrighty, ill give it a week. And its a single, every ref on that page calls it s single, Rihanna has as well :) - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 22:23, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
No but I mean until there are lots of reliable sources it would be unwise to create the article considering that there isnt and won't be a page for the album for a while yet. -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me 22:32, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
I didnt mean a week specifically. I meant until its about the size of Rose Colored Glasses. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 22:36, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
Hmmm that sounds about right. Omg I've got someone hounding me about JLO sales now.. wtf! -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me 22:46, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
Hahah, i noticed. Having Fun? =P - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 22:56, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
well quite the contrary cus I feel like im slating JLO lol. (i used to Stan for her really badly). Basically her UK and US album sales add up to like 9.16 million but Rolling Stones claim that she sold 50 million. To put it in context despite the UK and US being her biggest markets she only made 18.5% of her total sales there meaning the rest of the world bout 40.84 million copies of her album to make up the other 81.5%? I dont think so LOL. Not even Beyoncé could do that! -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me
Removed redirect for literally 2 minutes and it got other edits. Oh dear.... - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 23:43, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
that's why protection was being suggested. =( -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me 23:46, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
Ugh, i can 100% tell this is gunna be difficult to keep from becoming fan shit. BTW, Socks? (User talk:Syedwaheedhussain + User:Siquisloco) ? Same editing styles. Hmmmmmm. Im watching the page as im going to GA it i think so ill keep it from getting fan facty. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 23:53, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
Scratch that. only overlapping article is this one. Not socks. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 23:57, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
No problem. I'll look into the sock thing (though I'm not sure). No problem. Although I'm not Rihanna fan I will also be combatting vandalism accross the page. Rihanna articles are good in the sense that there is usually a lot of information available but require maintainance because of high levels of vandalism. -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me
Mhmm, she gets alot of coverage which is nice. I'll be watching/writing all her singles from Loud. BTW what do you think of her single cover? i think its really nice. Better then her Rated R ones. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 00:10, 9 September 2010 (UTC)

Just a quick question. Are you still watching Only Girl? I have a funny feeling im going to have issues with User talk:Syedwaheedhussain as he seems to be an avid rihanna fan and doesnt want to listen to rules or just doesnt care. Im pretty sure im going to end up (unfortunately) battling to keep the article up to GA standards. (i may even try an eventual FA =O ) - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 22:00, 10 September 2010 (UTC)

Yup, is he causing you issues? I'm gonna write an essay to tell him to calm down because he's close to getting blocked. -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me 22:04, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
You know the kind of editor that you can just tell is going to cause you trouble and piss you off? He's one of them for me. Just reading his talk page, and people reverting his stuff, he just does not want to seem to listen. Continually adding blogs as sources whens hes been told countless times. Just little things like that, i left him a message explaining whats wrong with his version and why were using mine so im waiting for a response. But even the comments page "Dont worry *Fr@Πkl!nG*..the page will soon be recreated. I am already workin on it. And (CK)Lakeshade this song is going to be released as a digital download on September 21,2010 and will soon chart on hot 100" pissed me off, he doesnt want to seem to listen. What ever. I wouldnt be upset if he was new, but come on bud, you started editing on 09:38, 27 May 2010. I dont know why its so hard to grasp, the rules arnt hard. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 22:45, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
I know pfft! well I'm going to write him an essay anyway because next time a ANI might be appropriate. His edits are becoming as intollerable at User:Illuvrihanna24's -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me

A Year Without Rain vandalism is occurring.

Hello, I thought that you might be interested to know about the vandalism at A Year Without Rain in the tracklisting section. I can't revert it anymore or I get into trouble (as I understand it). Unsure what to do so thought you might be able to help out here? :) —Iknow23 (talk) 22:31, 9 September 2010 (UTC)

Hello mate. Right I've requested protection of the page and we'll see if that goes through. You can exceed WP:3RR if the edits you're reverting are vandalism of a non-petty kind. Although I would always err on the side of caution. You'll see from the article history that I have done some reverting myself today. The only other things I can suggest are ensuring the best use of references and hidden comments. I will continue to help you combat vandalism on this page though. =) -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me
Thank you. Yes, I did notice your reverting :) and I hope my point will get across with the hidden comments. Thank you again.—Iknow23 (talk) 20:59, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
No problem, glad to help. =) Any update on the Bubbling Under stuff? -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me
Guess not (re Bubbling Under)...but I see the pp-semi-protected on at AYWR :)—Iknow23 (talk) 21:27, 10 September 2010 (UTC)

Sale el Sol

Okay, I'm sorry about that. I thought that was referring to when I just put a note instead of the other track list. I don't see what's the big deal about just having the title in a heading? But alrightyo. Regards, ΣПDiПG–STΛЯT (Talk) 11:35, 10 September 2010 (UTC)

What Category:Disambiguation is not for

   Happy holidays to you!
I hope you'll stop using (as you did, using HotCat, with Higher (song) and Basic Instinct) a Category:Disambiguation tag when you start a Dab page -- that Cat has only 18 legitimate non-Cat pages as members. What you need is {{Disambig}}. Thanks for creating the Dabs, of course.
Let's keep any discussion (if needed) here on your page, if you don't mind.
--Jerzyt 00:47, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

hi there. Thanks for the message. I wasn't aware that it was incorrect to use the category in the way that i was doing, so i apologise. I assumed it was correct because i.ve seen quite a few disambig pages with it. Thanks for letting me know though. I'd hate to think i was incorrectly doing things. Is there a legitimate cat. For such pages or does said template take care of it? -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me

RE:Speechless

Yeah, I think so! I've been aiming to start it in my sandbox for a while but haven't. Idk if we should wait until the song charts or not though. But it may start early on the R&B tomorrow. Candyo32 00:34, 9 September 2010 (UTC)

I haven't been on any radio sites today so Idk yet. I do know it's been getting a lot of adds, but as of yesterday it wasn't top 50, but it was like #83 like on Sunday, so it should be on its way soon. But I am anticipating "Gimme Dat", as it should be a multi-format hit! Even though I wish she had of chosen a stronger song. Candyo32 00:39, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
Btw, just wondering if you have heard Willow Smith's new single, "Whip My Hair." It puts her idol Rihanna's "Only Girl" to shame, while she took Ciara, Keri, Kelly and every other black female or any female in the industry (besides the Gagas and Brits and Beyonce's) to school! and a 9-year old ! Candyo32 00:47, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
Alright that's greatt! Ok, here's the beginning version of Speechless I started -- User:Candyo32/Sandbox13. As of now, I highly doubt it would stand on its own without any charting, but hopefully that will change tomorrow! I check radio and it has moved 62-49 on urban!! However just as she was about to debut officially on pop, Kelly tanks 41-42 with RCG, and is like #43 w/ GW on urban. smh. But back to Willow, she is so impressive. Rumor had it hat Jay-Z had signed her to RocNation now i see on Allaccess its official with the labeled as RocNation/Columbia. That red mess on Rihanna's hair has flipped by now. They need to release a single and video stat to build on this buzz. Candyo32 01:26, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
I just realized you have done some great work on Hello Good Morning!! I've been aiming to improve the article for sometime, but as most projects I plan to do, never end up happening. Lol! But I didn't know the song has such an impressive international resume. Anyway, if plan to GA-it, or you need anything for me to do with it, just let me know! Btw, I've began a working version of Willow Smith's "Whip My Hair," and I wonder does it meet WP:NSONGS. I've seen several songs with a wealth of information to be deleted just because it hadn't charted, so what do you think?
Yep, i've begun Gimme Dat here. Just waiting for a charting. Candyo32 22:56, 10 September 2010 (UTC)
I've addressed every concern on the "Lil Freak" review and left talk back on the page. Candyo32 02:27, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
I think I've covered every thing, but check on the review page to make sure. Candyo32 14:43, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
Back up at GAN now. If you do mean re-nominate it there and not re-assessmnent I assume. Lol. Candyo32 18:33, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for all the help on the GA!! Btw, I've seen the news about Kelly. Idk if its a good thing or a bad thing. smh. lol Candyo32 02:46, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
I thought about that first for Kelly, but it may be a better thing since she won't have to rush the new music and have a decent time to ready it. As for Ciara, hopefully things can only go up. "Ride" was a success, she's done the music videos for Speechless and and Gimme Dat (but they need official radio dates and Gimme Dat needs to be released), and she's going to be onstage at the VMAs. So maybe things will only keep getting better :) Candyo32 03:09, 12 September 2010 (UTC)

Only Girl

Sir, Only Girl has been released on iTunes. Shall I get my page in the place of the redirect? Study my article and reply. Thank you.Syedwaheedhussain (talk) 16:23, 13 September 2010 (UTC) But please look into the matter. Like you instructed me, I am obeying the W:SONGS rules. Look here. "'Songs that' have been ranked on national or significant music charts, that have won significant awards or honors or that 'have been independently released as a recording' by several notable artists, bands or groups 'are probably notable'. Notability aside, a separate article on a song is only appropriate when there is enough verifiable material to warrant a reasonably detailed article'; articles unlikely ever to grow beyond stubs should be merged to articles about an artist or album." All these conditions satisfy in my article.Syedwaheedhussain (talk) 16:46, 13 September 2010 (UTC) Thank you sir. Hope that you have forgotten all my earlier issues and made your mind that now I am going to prove to be a GOOD wikipedian.Syedwaheedhussain (talk) 16:50, 13 September 2010 (UTC)

Upload something

Hi Unique, how are you? :) I was wondering if I could ask you for a small favor. As you know I don't know how to upload stuff, and I've already tried to do as you told me. I was wondering if you could upload a photo and like 2 audio snippets for me. If you could, let me know and I'll tell you what I need. Thanks for your time :).--PeterGriffinTalk2Me 17:12, 13 September 2010 (UTC)

Hey, I'm pretty good thanks. Did you watch the VMAS last night? Or do you not see it in the UK? Well there is one song I would like, called "Butterfly" by Mariah, and the 2nd one can be any other song from her "Butterfly" album, doesn't matter which other, as long as it's not "My All", I have that one already. And the image, is this one. That's all really. Let me know what you think. Thanks :)--PeterGriffinTalk2Me 17:41, 13 September 2010 (UTC)
Well yes, that is the cover of her "Butterfly" album. Well if you don't have that album, do you just have that song? I mean if you could upload just the song "Butterfly" that would be a big help.--PeterGriffinTalk2Me 17:50, 13 September 2010 (UTC)
Ok, wow, thanks allot Unique! I find the additions will make the article much better!:)--PeterGriffinTalk2Me 17:54, 13 September 2010 (UTC)
Perfect, it did and looks much clearer and better! Let me know whenever you check about the track. Thank you Unique :D--PeterGriffinTalk2Me 18:00, 13 September 2010 (UTC)

It will actually be a travesty if it doens't go number one. Flo Rida's part on the song is actually quite good. I meant to ask you before... what is the wikicup? (i wouldn't be so sure that you'll beat me) -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me 21:34, 16 September 2010 (UTC)

If im knocked out first round ill be embarrassed lol, so my goal is to make it past round 1. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 21:58, 16 September 2010 (UTC)
yeah I agree it would be nice to make it past round 1. btw when do you think is the right time to nominate an single for GA? -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me
For the competition? It starts on January 1, 2011. So if you overhaul an article on the 1st and have a high edit count, you can nominate it that same day. Stuff being worked on now i dont think counts for the score, unless its a stub and does doesnt get close to GA status until like January. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 22:04, 16 September 2010 (UTC)
Actually I meant in general. E.g. is it too early to nominate "RCG"? "MY"? -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me
RCG is premature, cause the video was just released, charting could now happen! (Fingers crossed) but Missing You would be a great candidate(i think thats the right word), Only critique i could give you would be the Music video section, could use expansion, like add a background and synopsis section and possible an image if you can. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 22:16, 16 September 2010 (UTC)
Um background is super small. Merge background and reception or something. Cant have a subsection ifs its less then 4 sentences generally. And gimme 10 min and ill made an audio sample for you. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 23:32, 16 September 2010 (UTC)

The X Factor (UK)

Missing You (The Saturdays song)

...Because if you had read my edit summary you'd have realised I'd made an error and you have quite rightly reverted me. I shall pay more attention in future. Meanwhile, why do you remove the WPSongs templates from redirects, surely they are still songs and classified as either NA or redirect? Richhoncho (talk) 14:23, 18 September 2010 (UTC)

Of course good luck with the nomination. It's good to see song articles rise above unreferenced stubs, so a GA is excellent! Richhoncho (talk) 14:29, 18 September 2010 (UTC)

I Am... Sasha Fierce

Hi, are you fine? Can the album be nominated for GA now? Jivesh boodhun (talk) 10:25, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

Thanks. Jivesh boodhun (talk) 10:39, 12 September 2010 (UTC)

Hi, i know that you are very busy and perhaps that's why you don't have time to help me with the album. It might seem a bit childish to you but i could not stop myself from feeling hurt about what you said on User talk:CloversMallRat. Is it that you are not helping me with the album just because you do not like Beyonce? To tell you frankly i love kelly rowland. She has been my fvourite since i turned 12 years old. But when Beyonce came up with 'I Am... Sasha Fierce', i unconsciously developped much greater liking for her. Even though i don't like a lot of artists, i do not say anything about them. So please tell me, are you going to help me with the album? I am currently having exams [Chemistry, Maths, Physics, English, French. Paper 1,2,3,4,5 + Pratical exams] and they will last till the 26th of October 2010. Plese give me a frank answer. Don't worry, it will not affect our friendship. Jivesh boodhun (talk) 12:29, 20 September 2010 (UTC)

I know that you were not angry. I really like you a lot since you have always helped me. after all, you are such a friendly person. I did not understand what you meant by "prose" and concerning its length, i have told it countless times that this is no an album but a double album and so it is bound to be a long article, especially if it was one among the ten best albums of 2009. and what about the formatting? What is wrong? I have fixed all of them. and i do no know how to nominate it.

Jivesh boodhun (talk) 11:25, 21 September 2010 (UTC)

thanks a lot, ou are 'very very very very very very very very very very' nice. Jivesh boodhun (talk) 16:37, 21 September 2010 (UTC)

the introduction is not GA-worthy, the referencing is still not formatted properly and the prose which is not a high enough quality, So should i only work on these things? Jivesh boodhun (talk) 16:40, 21 September 2010 (UTC)

Please recheck your edit

Can you recheck your edit [2]. I didnt chekc for sure, but it looks like the article now has some third party coverage that didnt exist before. Active Banana ( bananaphone 22:55, 14 September 2010 (UTC)

Actually, you were probably right in that edit - what I thought was a third party music industry magazine is the company that is issuing the mix tape. So there is no actual third party reliable source coverage. Active Banana ( bananaphone 22:56, 18 September 2010 (UTC)
I have noticed that music fans give much more credence to the three words ignore all rules than they do to all the words in WP:N! Active Banana ( bananaphone 23:04, 18 September 2010 (UTC)

RCG

Hey unique! Idk if it was you who added the Top 40 Airplay chart to RCG, but I removed it because it is the unofficial rolling statistics. The official published Top 40 Airplay is updated weekly just like the Billboard charts here [3] as it is a Billboard chart. Although RCG was 39 during the rolling week period, when the chart was published, the song must have fallen off or something at the time. Candyo32 00:37, 16 September 2010 (UTC)

Lol everyone including myself does stuff like this too haha! It may infact be published, I'm not sure. But even if it is the Top 40 Airplay Chart by Billboard is powered by Nielsen. But it's not the same as the Pop Songs. I think one is based on total audience and the other on listener impressions or something idk it confuses me. Anyway, I was going to watch the RCG video then my browser froze and I had to restart lol. So i'll see it soon. Btw, I forgot if it were you or Lakeshade asking me about Cheryl's new single, and I think it has grown on me since the initial listen, as well as Rihanna's Only Girl. I prefer PT's verses, I think the chorus slows the song down a bit. Candyo32 00:51, 16 September 2010 (UTC)
Well I know Pop Songs and the Top 40 Airplay are different. One is the whole audience and another is just impressions. But the Top 40 chart on info is available in .biz and is published in Billboard magazine, as the actual chart seen on the site is what appears in the magazine. I don't think the Mediabase charts are used by Billboard, rather they use the Nielsen ones. Candyo32 01:09, 16 September 2010 (UTC)
Lol I thought it might have been published. But my main concern was that it was the Mediabase chart, and not the CHR/Top 40 as seen in Billboard, and whether it was allowed on Wikipedia. Candyo32 04:49, 16 September 2010 (UTC)
Haha, I've just found some info. These are audience numbers (in millions) so far for all formats. Btw, all of these songs are outside the top 20.
Rihanna "Only Girl (In the World) : 22.92 (+4.018) (just released)
will.i.am/Nicki Minaj : "Check it Out" : 6.045 (+0.447) (just released)
Willow - "Whip My Hair" : 3.167 (+0.520) (just released....and a nine year old)
Kelly Rowland - "Grown Woman" : 2.382 (+0.092)
Ciara - "Speechless" : (+0.046)
Kelly Rowland - "Rose Colored Glasses" : 1.483 (+0.004)
Ciara - "Gimme Dat" : 0.283 (-0.144)
Sure does tell you something, lol/smh. But as a side point Speechless, GW, and RCG are all up in numbers from the previous week, lol. And FYI, Check It Out and Willow's increases are the awesome increases. Radio is just deciding to boom Rihanna so much. But CiCi and Kelly desperately need some help. Especially "Gimme Dat," even w/o an add date a good song is going to be pushed no matter what. Candyo32 05:04, 16 September 2010 (UTC)
I know :( I hate to say it but I think Kelly may be done with RCG and GW. As for Ciara if she can get a video quick that would be great. Most urban songs don't begin with huge spincreases like they do on top 40 & rhythmic. I was afraid for "Ride" when it first began and one time only had like a +60 increase, but it ended up at #2 on time & +300. Lol Willow is whipping the hair of Kelly and Ciara right now. She's +200 on urban and will go rhythmic soon, without an add date. And I saw on a music forum site where people post like the 50+ positions of the formats, and Keri should debut soon on urban with her boring new song. lol. I also see that Kelly is at #55 with RCG on pop, -337. sigh. Candyo32 00:13, 20 September 2010 (UTC)

Kelly Rowland (album)

No problem. I'm really glad they changed it, because the use of the ampersand was bothering me, lol.... So, this album got pushed back to 2011 eh? What a shame, I was looking forward to it. CloversMallRat (talk) 17:10, 18 September 2010 (UTC)

Hopefully the delay will help, because none of her singles seem to be catching on so far. I think they ought to release "Forever and a Day" in North America, too, 'cause I think that sounds like it could be a hit. CloversMallRat (talk) 17:18, 18 September 2010 (UTC)
So far I've loved all of the singles they've released. I was hoping "Rose Colored Glasses" would've done better... by the time the (stunning) video was out, it was too late. I'm lovin' the music videos though; they're really good. CloversMallRat (talk) 20:06, 18 September 2010 (UTC)

Heres the video. And i like the flo-rida version better lol. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 00:48, 19 September 2010 (UTC)
Me too... i think the bridge in the album version is aweful and I don't like the way the song ends. Wow! the Kesha Tour promo is excellent. She should release an uptempo ballad with a video like this... =) -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me
Exactly i think she'll drop the drunk image in a year or two and "evolve". Hopefully Animal re-release will get an amazing balled for Winter time. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 00:54, 19 September 2010 (UTC)

Canadian ref for Commander (song)

It doesn't look to me like either the manual reference for Canada or the singlechart version works. If you can give me a date, I might be able to find something.—Kww(talk) 16:02, 19 September 2010 (UTC)

It's the "sec=53d6d91a1e710d2a5263726978e1f807" that gives me trouble for Czech and Slovak charts. It's an MD5 hash over something, but I can't figure out what the something is. I'm working on it, but it will take a while. As for Commander, what I get back from their chart service (which I also had to hack) is this:
No Canada chart position. However, it's apparent that their internal database has been corrupted: look at http://www.billboard.com/services/charts/chart-detail.json?chartType=Singles&title=Commander&artist=Kelly+Rowland+Featuring+David+Guetta&chartDate=2010-08-21&formatId=793
Notice how they list the European Hot 100 over and over, with different chart numbers for each week. Since the chart numbers are supposed to be unique, that shows something wiped out a part of their database. Still, that was enough to dig around and find http://www.billboard.com/#/charts/canadian-hot-100?chartDate=2010-08-28&order=gainer, which should be stable and verifies a position of 55.—Kww(talk) 16:59, 19 September 2010 (UTC)

Yes. I removed it. I will open a forum against your actions in the admnistrators section once the final 12 is chosen. Fortunately, all the changes are recorded. My article was perfectly written. It never stated ANY untruthful or none verifiable information. You can see that all the statements are sourced to the greatest extent. Rihanna

Did you hear that the leaked song and video are for a Dorito chips add? - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 22:34, 19 September 2010 (UTC)

its the most pathetic attempt at a cover up if i've ever seen one LMFAO! Its obvious that they shot the video very recently and intended it to be a single but for whatever reason they decided not to use it. The thing with SRC/DefJam is they try to pre-plan all Rihanna's singles before releasing them. I'm pretty sure the song was intended for both Loud and the re-release of Guetta's One Love. But he appears to have gone ahead and re-released the album with songs like "Acapella" instead so then perhaps then Def Jam were less keen on using it? -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me 22:40, 19 September 2010 (UTC)
Hahahah. I was like how the eff does that have anything to do with Chips? are they going to change the lyrics to "Whos that chip" or "I want a chip". ? Like WTF lol. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 22:42, 19 September 2010 (UTC)
LICKI, that Who's that Chip thing is actually coming true as far as rumors go. LOL. Also, Only Girl is wayy better. "Who's That Chick" sounds like a downgraded version of "Who's That Girl". — Legolas (talk2me) 07:37, 20 September 2010 (UTC)

Thanks!:)--PeterGriffinTalk2Me 21:59, 20 September 2010 (UTC)

Hey, so I fixed all your concerns. What do you think now.?--PeterGriffinTalk2Me 00:24, 21 September 2010 (UTC)

Okay, so everything seems to be proof read and running smoothly. Please check back at the page Unique. I have done all you asked. Thanks.--PeterGriffinTalk2Me 19:36, 21 September 2010 (UTC)

Heartbeat

First of all i love the music video for this song. You dont have to use it, but ive made a music video image (http://img801.imageshack.us/img801/5921/24234.jpg) if you use it i would use a caption like; " Nichole (Top) and Enrique (Bottom) seen as digitally added "Heartbeats" are added with streaks of blue and red color" .... Something along the lines of that. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 23:00, 20 September 2010 (UTC)

Aww cheerz buddy... that's a big help. it saves me watching the video frame-by-frame to find good images lol. Have you see the page I was working on in my sandbox? -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me
User:Lil-unique1/Sandbox/Heartbeat, kind struggling to find other things to write. -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me 23:02, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
Yeah i did, thats why i made the image. I was actually going to write the article in a few weeks but now that your doing it, i dont have to :P - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 23:03, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
LOL! in that case i don't suppose you'd write a synopsis for the music video by any chance? (i thought it'd be worth me asking =) -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me
Gladly, i actually love doing Music Video Sections. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 23:11, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
Wahay! I hate them LOL! I'm just adding all the release stuff atm... so once that's done and we add about the music video it will be notable enough for its own article though I'm gonna need to do an intro too... :) -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me
Done. Give it a read lemme know what you think. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 23:34, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
I like it (no pun intended)! haha =) well done. -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me 23:34, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
HAH, yous a funny one :P - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 23:37, 20 September 2010 (UTC)

BTW you have to add the charts still. Its 50 on the UK chart this week. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 23:40, 20 September 2010 (UTC)

Yup I'm working on it... I've just done an introduction. and fixed release history. Is there any chance you could do a sound sample? -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me 23:46, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
Can do. Gimme 10 min. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 23:47, 20 September 2010 (UTC)

You can guarantee he's gunna be a big socker. He's already been busted once. But the comment on how wikipedia is falling apart without him/her here and insulting my editing made me LOL. I wanted to say to him, "No actually, without you here im saved the trouble of cleaning up after you every time you make an edit, and insulting my editing is just stupid when you cant edit for sh** (pardon my french) so you got what you deserved.", but then i decided to just ignore the idiot. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 23:47, 21 September 2010 (UTC)

Forever and a day (Kelly Rowland)

Dear Lil-unigue1

I am the producer of this song my name is Jonas Jeberg When the single comes out to buy you will see that my credits are correct! David Guetta had nothing to do with this song!

The bit Kelly is refering to is this: David was asked to do a remix, but when he did, the label realized they liked my original version better! so they stuck to that... my version is the version that is released and used on Radio right now...

Please edit the page back to how I edited it!

Thank you

One love Jonas —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jobmyjob (talkcontribs) 09:35, 22 September 2010 (UTC)

Do u not hear the hip hop and electronic sounds in the song?. I have to admitt, the song does have reggae and dancehall in it but, the electronic sounds is not within the public genres of the song R&B, dancehall, reggae.Dbunkley6 (talk) 18:10, 23 September 2010 (UTC)

if electro hop doesn't excist, how come there is a page about the genre (electro hop). that ells that is a genre that combines electro music with hip-hop music.

WikiProject Discographies/style, the end of the tunnel

Hi. Now the discussion about rowspan/colspan among the WikiProject Accessibility was brought to an end. We reached an agreement, yay! :-) We can finally proceed with the update. You input is needed at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Discographies/style#Time to update. Re:Hello

That's no problem! Take your time. Anyway, Kelly needs to give up on RCG and GW in the US. There is no coming back at all now. Move on to the next one. Things don't seem too well on Ciara's front with "Speechless" which is only up +22 on urban radio despite a digital release (its only #88 on the iTunes R&B chart smh.) Keri seems to have a little bit better with +200 in urban and #50 on iTunes R&B. These three ladies are getting their head's snatched with Willow's triple-format Whip My Hair. It'll really blow up when it gets digitally released. But if Kelly had release her videos at the right time, she may have done better. Btw, did you hear the Beyonce news. Supposedly a new single in three weeks!! I also am enticed in hearing Cheryl Cole's second single, a Christ-masey ballad. Candyo32 01:54, 25 September 2010 (UTC)

Ugh, Kelly's may never see the light of day here in the US and be like that Mya album in Japan lol. Ciara is still due tentatively November 2, 2010 over here. She needs to hurry up and release dual videos for Speechless and Gimme Dat now, or she may be in the same boat. I'm surprised LaFace/Jive still hasn't even given Gimme Dat an official radio add date! About Leona, I think most of her big new material is coming from her sophomore 2011 effort. I was really hyped about MC's new Christmas album, until I heard about Susan Boyle, now I'm afraid MiMi may be left in the dust saleswise this holiday season. I liked JLo's new single f/ Rick Ross and The-Dream, she might do well along with her AI job (considering how declining AI is, plus the anticipation of the US X Factor). I'm just jumping all over the place, but as for Alex, I think she should have just gone ahead with a new album, like her US counterpart Rihanna, she is primarily a singles artist. Alex needs to come over here in the US now. Bad Boys would have killed the charts! Candyo32 02:07, 25 September 2010 (UTC)
Wow, Nicki Minaj with Alexandra Burke would be HOT and is the ideal opportunity for her to breakthrough over here. But considering that was the buzz for months that Minaj was assisting JLS over hear, then it switched to Rihanna, then to Shontelle, now the single is currently cancelled. Back to the three in turmoil (lol), Ciara is in the best position, as I read on Thatgrapejuice, from her legacy of past solo worldwide chart success, while the other two don't really even come within miles. I hope things do work out for JLo. Her best shot is to go urban like she did back in the day. Candyo32 02:24, 25 September 2010 (UTC)
Could you help me out here? It's getting crazy. Candyo32 19:50, 25 September 2010 (UTC)
Thanks! I was concerned because I didn't even hear anything like this from the editors who contributed to the first nom. I've been working on the article since July and it seems like I can't get it finished for nothing! Lol. Candyo32 20:42, 25 September 2010 (UTC)

Re: Hello

Hey! I'm pretty good. How are you? Thanks. I think I'm finally getting the hang of everything around here in Wikipedialand. Alright, and that makes sense. :) And for Love? I put Island because the press release said it, so I just thought that's what I meant, but I guess you're right, Def Jam is owned by them anyway. ΣПDiПG–STΛЯT (Talk) 22:15, 25 September 2010 (UTC)

Baha, VERY. I get the whole worldwide distribution thing now, but I really don't get why everything else has to be so confusing. SRC is who pays for it all, but Def Jam releases it and stuff, and SRC gets like no credit. Doesn't make sense to me. Why isn't her releases just like SRC/Def Jam? The music industry. *shakes head* ΣПDiПG–STΛЯT (Talk) 22:33, 25 September 2010 (UTC)

Review?

Hi Journalist, I just noticed you're edit to Higher (The Saturdays song) and thought ... "Hey that was actually really good". Aside from thanking you for that, I wondered if you'd be interested in reviewing some articles on my behalf? I recently got When Love Takes Over to GA but the reviewer said that the prose was not of particularly good prose. So I've nomed it with the Guild of Copyeditors. Also I wish to take Commander (song) to FA but have never done it before so any comments people can make are always useful. If you could help with either of these, that would be most appreciated. Don't worry if you can't, I am being a little forward here... =) -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me 22:35, 25 September 2010 (UTC)

No, you're not being forward in the least. I would be able to review and copyedit your articles. However, I'm not sure if I'll be able to devote a lot of time to it. I'm extremely busy with work and school, and only on Wikipedia sporadically, and only for a short time. But I'll see what I can do.
By the way, I've notice all the good work that you've been doing. Keep it up; Wikipeida needs more editors like you. Orane (talk) 04:30, 26 September 2010 (UTC)

Jennifer Lopez

This is about Jennifer Lopez records sales, I've trying to edit Lopez records sales to more than 50 million several times providing reliable sources with recent dates, but you refuse to make those changes and keep that amount of 25 million.

I don't agree with the reason you gave me, ...someone here said that she doesn't have enough certificaciones, .... in the USA only she has 11 million certified copies (actually she has sold more than 14 million), you can even see that amount on the RIAA website: http://www.riaa.com/goldandplatinumdata.php?resultpage=3&table=tblTopArt&action=

also she has certificacions in the UK, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, CANADA, Australia, Japan, some of the countries in Latinamerica and Asia, rest of the countries of Europe (including Turkey, Russia), etc. .... make a search for each country and you'll see all these certifications.

Also, last week on 09/22/2010 Fox Broadcasting Co had a Press release where they confirmed sales for more than 55 million records for Lopez, There is a bunch of articles with the same information in this link, you can see a search: http://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8#sclient=psy&hl=en&site=webhp&source=hp&q=Global+Superstar+Jennifer+Lopez+Joins+Fox+Family%2C+Launching+First-Look+Deal+with+Fox+Films+and+Joining+Fox+Broadcasting%27s+American+Idol+as+New+Judge&rlz=1R2SNNT_enUS376&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=&pbx=1&fp=c47c3091c3ffe420

But I can also give some of this links: http://www.wikio.co.uk/article/jennifer-lopez-joins-fox-family-judge-216703717 http://www.thefutoncritic.com/news/2010/09/22/global-superstar-jennifer-lopez-joins-fox-family-launching-first-look-deal-with-fox-films-and-joining-fox-broadcastings-american-idol-as-new-judge/20100922fox02/ http://tvbythenumbers.com/2010/09/22/global-superstar-jennifer-lopez-joins-fox-family-launching-first-look-deal-with-fox-films-in-addition-to-joining-american-idol/64660

I smell a conspiracy against Jennifer Lopez here, if you add up all the certifications from any singer you won't ever match those numbers that come from the Labels or other Official Releases, but you only pointed at Jennifer Lopez sales, why is that?? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Brunca2 (talkcontribs) 13:29, 28 September 2010 (UTC)

Wow

Ke$ha continues her 2010 world domination. 15 Million singles sold and 2 million albums. US= Animal Platinum, Tik Tok 5x P, Your Love 2xP, Blah Blah Blah and Take It Off 1x P. Dang, shes taking over lol, 2010 was definitely her year. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 22:54, 27 September 2010 (UTC)

Don't look at Projec Discog lol! Its all kicked off ... -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me

Re: Discog

I do agree with the other changes and I am willing to begin implementing them into the discographies once all of the ideas gain some general stability (obviously, there is still some discussion going on regarding them). I honestly do think that the 100% country sizes are horrid looking and 90% is just a few percentages up from the 85% used in many discographies, including several of our FLs. –Chase (talk) 21:49, 29 September 2010 (UTC)

Trancey-background

A trance background is NOT clear enough. Just as much as having a "funky background" would not make it funk music. Using this to describe genre is very inappropriate. I still suggest if you can't find strong and continued emphasis on genre for songs, that you should simply leave them simple, saying "Pop" or something to prevent this kind of edit warring.Andrzejbanas (talk) 11:12, 30 September 2010 (UTC)

Nadine Coyle

Hi Lil-unique1! I was just wondering, i think we should start and edit Nadine Coyle's single. What do you think? --SitDownOnIt (talk) 19:49, 30 September 2010 (UTC)

Sorting tables

Thank you for your kind words at ANI. I believe that the underlying technical issue is sorted now, but I thought I'd alert you to the usability issue with tables, so you can spread the word among the WikiProject Discographies regulars. Sometimes tables contain a mixture of single years ("2007") and year ranges ("2005–2006"), perhaps even something like "2007–present" and they give unexpected results when sorted. The solution is to use a sort key on each cell in the column, so they look like {{sort|2007|2007}}, {{sort|2005|2005–2006}}, {{sort|2007.5|2007–present}}, where the first part is what gets sorted, and the second part is what is actually displayed. You can look at the Yvonne Strahovski#Filmography 'Television' table, if you ever need an example to copy from. Maybe you'll never to use this technique, but if you do, you'll be able to find it here :) Cheers --RexxS (talk) 20:40, 30 September 2010 (UTC)

RE:Return the Favor

I'll try to make fixes ASAP! I'm just all over the place now and when I am on Wiki, it seems like my time is mostly just cleaning up what stupid users and IP's do instead of actually accomplishing work :| Anyway, I'll get to it soon! In other news.. lol, I don't know if you are a Rihanna fan, but we do talk about her sometimes, but Loud will have a collabo with Nicki Minaj! I'm excited ! Candyo32 20:57, 30 September 2010 (UTC)

BTW, I just found out Keri AND Ciara are releasing November 30! I would say Ciara would get the higher debut, considering her well-knownness compared to Keri's. While Hilson has "Turnin Me On" and "Knock You Down" hits she's still a bit faceless. People will continue to know Ciara as the "Goodies" and "1,2 Step" girl. However, IAPW did sell about 10,000 more than Fantasy Ride in its first week, and has gone Gold while Ciara's FW is still under 200,000 smh. Depends on who can come out with the hotter second/third single. BP is getting a good start at radio, but I don't think it will be a hit. Speechless just fell out the top 50 lol. Candyo32 21:06, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
One more thing, lol have you heard Ciara's new track "Shut 'Em Up." It is her hottest joint yet, the beat is off the charts! I'm sorry but not only does she need to drop Speechless, but Gimme Dat also, and move on to Shut 'Em Up. Because Speechless isn't doing anything (actually it's going down), and if Gimme Dat was going to be a hit, radio would have blew it up already. Candyo32 21:11, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
Lol, thanks for the advice! I'll try to do that !! & I feel the same way about her. I really didn't like her much last year because I'm very pro-Chris Brown, but since it's over and dealt with her catchy music is just so..catchy lol! But if Keri could get a hot single out, she may do well. & Shontelle is VERY faceless, so I see why she did. But Keri does have a lil bit of a name for herself lol! If things go good for her, I think Keri could get a good 70k while Ciara could get 85k. I'm not doubting Keri so much because she did sell 95k in IPW's first week, and this was before Knock You Down came out. But with Ciara, if she could kick promo into overdrive, and get a get a crossover in "Shut 'Em Up" for urban and possibly crossover to pop radio, and send a electropoppy song for pop radio, she could get 100k-125k. I say that because Ciara: The Evolution moved 338,000, but that was back in '06. Candyo32 21:38, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
Also, unlike Keri, Ciara is going to get sales just because of who she is (i.e. Xtina's Bionic), while Keri hasn't gotten at all that far in her career yet. But then again you know what happens when people leave their label (i.e. Kelly Rowland and Untitled, Kelly Rowland or whatever it is now) lol, which will get released around late 2012. While Ciara needs to get her album out now, Keri shouldn't be rushing. Although, both of them are being very smart releasing them around the holiday season, I just thought about. November 30 is the Tuesday after Black Friday, the biggest shopping day in the year here in the US. And btw, speaking of international promo, Ciara hasn't even done any promo stateside!! I know Keri has "I Like" but she's not really an international artist, unlike Ciara (well, she was back in the day). Randomness, but do you keep up with Ne-Yo? He's another one in the same predicament as CiCi, Keri and Kelly. However, he did go #1 with BM in the UK i believe. But when Ne-Yo had his popularity with Year of the Gentleman was before Usher came back, the surge of Trey Songz, and the comeback of Chris Brown just adds to it. That's just a theory, because there were also times when all stars could co-exist with success. Candyo32 22:56, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
It's the Friday after our Thanksgiving holiday, and it is the biggest shopping day of the year, the first official day of the Christmas-shopping season. So prices are cut down, Christmas items are put out, everybody is fighting for things at stores, lol. Candyo32 23:26, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
According to Amazon's Basic Instinct is now set for December 14. I'm also seeing that Kelly Rowland is supposed to release "Haters" (formerly "Shake Them Haters Off") was the third single in both the US and UK. Candyo32 19:31, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
& almost forgot, MC's new Christmas song is hot! Candyo32 20:05, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
radio1.gr is reporting a UK release before the end of the year, and blogs say a possible US urban release, since it was originally supposed to be the original R&B single. & Sure, I'll try my best!! Candyo32 22:06, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
Lol, I'll just keep a look out for the blatant vandals. & Don't worry too much about checking in with RTF, that remind me I need to look at the fixes. And no problem! Candyo32 22:41, 2 October 2010 (UTC)
I forgot to mention, I've decided to keep up with X Factor via online this year, and I took a look at the supposed leak of contestants. I believe it is true, and if it is i'm so mad that one of my favorites didn't go through, but I'm glad another one did. I'm not saying names incase you didn't check the leak lol.Candyo32 22:45, 2 October 2010 (UTC)

Missing music.

I think getting back into music is the way to go from now on. I thought it was hard with users inflating Mariah Carey's sales. Editing TV articles, they don't even get repremanded, I just get warned for edit warring. It's so annoying. How's the music world? Any updates for me? Anything major gone down in the music-related Wiki world? PS. How are you? Jayy008 (talk) 22:45, 2 October 2010 (UTC)

I'm okay thanks. Yep, that's fine. I'll leave you to it, so just drop me a message when things have calmed down :). Jayy008 (talk) 23:54, 2 October 2010 (UTC)

Strip Me

Deleted it due to the licensing problems caused by the cut-and-paste merge. If you wouldn't have created it yet, I don't see any reason to legitimize the copy.—Kww(talk) 19:22, 3 October 2010 (UTC)

Cutting and pasting causes the attribution history to get messed up, which causes problems under both CC-BY-SA and the GFDL. The two ways to fix it are history merging and deletion, and I chose deletion as most appropriate in this case. And, while people forget, that applies to cutting-and-pasting from one article to another. Whenever you do that, your edit summary should contain a link to the exact version (including oldid) or the article you cut from.—Kww(talk) 19:33, 3 October 2010 (UTC)

Sorry about that. I'll be sure to keep that in mind. I thought it seemed pretty notable. ΣПDiПG–STΛЯT (Talk) 23:07, 3 October 2010 (UTC)

Hey CLK, per my hatnote I'm quite busy atm as I've just begun the second year of university. If I get some free time I'll do the changes tomorrow. If not then I'll look at doing them later in the week if that's ok? -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me 17:11, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

Kelly Rowland (album)

So tell me where on WP:ALBUMS does it say adding notes in the infobox is not allowed? Yes they were released in other countries but only digitally, not on radios. They were released only on US radios and have only charted in the US because they are the two US lead singles, as mentioned in the Singles section on the article. When I meant they weren't released as international singles, I meant they weren't released as the album's international singles, like 'Commander' or 'Forever and a Day', but have still been released digitally in other countries. Just like singles and albums released from Australian artists in Australia have only charted in Australia because they're only released for Australia but have still been released digitally in other countries. On the I Am... Sasha Fierce article it has (US only) beside 'Diva' and 'Ego' in the infobox because they were released as US only singles, but have still been released digitally in other countries because thats just how it is. ozurbanmusic (talk) 22:21, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

Beyonce Discography

Hi, i hope you are doing very well. I am currently having exams. Yet, i managed to find some time and greatly improved the Discography of Beyonce article. I just want you to see it (Nothing to do about nominating it for GA right now) and tell me what you think about it???????? Jivesh boodhun (talk) 06:40, 9 October 2010 (UTC)

The Fame Monster

Isn't The Fame Monster an album? Because it's showing up as an EP. I don't think that's right. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.46.56.54 (talk) 19:24, 7 October 2010 (UTC)

I've seen these questions on numerous talk pages Unique, I find it very odd how everyone is like going crazy and asking what happened. And it's like the exact same question too. By that I mean worded the same, HMM. ΣПDiПG–STΛЯT (Talk) 18:40, 9 October 2010 (UTC)

Nicole Scherzinger

I know exactly what you mean with Poison, that's fine. I still don't understand why Twitter can't be a source, if it comes from the artist itself and it's a verified account, but whatever. I understand what you're saying about the 2 songs, but just because they were released digitally doesn't mean they were originally meant to be fully released. Sure, they could have, but we don't really have a source per say that can confirm that the official release was canceled. I really think they should just be dubbed as promo singles. And for Nobody Can Change Me, that song wasn't really released anywhere, only premiered on radio so, yeah, I don't really know what went on with that. ΣПDiПG–STΛЯT (Talk) 22:37, 9 October 2010 (UTC)

Pussycat Dolls

Hi, I'm a little confused as to why you reverted my edit to the Pussycat Dolls page. You say that the source I proved contradicts the BILLION other sources, but I only see one and it's from rap-up.com and it's only two pictures of the other girls. How do we know that wasn't just a temporary lineup for a couple shows? I would just think that a quote from Nicole herself would be a stronger source than two pictures from rap-up.com. I don't think those girls belong on the current members list. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Yeahboyyy (talkcontribs) 00:27, 10 October 2010 (UTC)

Scream

Still a little premature, isn't it? Has it charted somewhere?—Kww(talk) 01:56, 10 October 2010 (UTC)

I use the standard criteria: won an award, covered by multiple notable artists, or charted. Substantial coverage is only enough to get me to agree to covering it in the parent artist or album article.—Kww(talk) 17:23, 10 October 2010 (UTC)

Nice work (don't stop now)

Brother, great work on Kelly Rowland discography. That horizontal mode for listing peaks is a bitch, isn't it? Or did you find some way to automate it? Anyway, don't think you have to do that just because I did it on Rihanna discography‎; it's a separate thing I decided to do while I had the bonnet up. "Your" articles' editors may not like it so much (although I haven't seen much kicking where I've converted them before).

Remember to adjust your table captions. If your tables don't look exactly like the examples on WP:DISCOGSTYLE (like no certs shown, or no sales), then you don't need to use the exact same captions from those examples. Tweak 'em to match your content.

I haven't done much with table captions, so I still have experience to acquire, but I think they look pretty good over the big tables. I'm afraid they look a bit dumb on top of a table with only one item in it. And you've got four of those! But it's cool; even though it says "List of..." and there's only one item, it's no different from the MoS-resuired "External links" for one link or "References" when there aren't more than one. — JohnFromPinckney (talk) 14:08, 13 October 2010 (UTC)

Regarding WikiProject Discographies

Hey Unique. Hope you're doing well.

I was wondering if you could summarize what went down with the whole Wikipedia:WikiProject Discographies/style thing. I was going to read it, but then I saw how long it was. I heard about it before, and now I'm seeing tables and everything being changed. Also, has it been, like approved maybe? (If that's the right kind of word I should be using.) And if I should help out changing the tables. Thanks! ΣПDiПG–STΛЯT (Talk) 22:20, 13 October 2010 (UTC)

Thank you so much for summarizing it for me. So maybe it would best to maybe say it the edit summary to see WP:DISCOGSTYLE before reverting? ΣПDiПG–STΛЯT (Talk) 15:49, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
Question, is other charted songs being removed or not? I read some of the thing eariler. ΣПDiПG–STΛЯT (Talk) 00:11, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
Okay, thank you. You did a good job. Why don't you like it? P.S. I'm currently doing Kesha discography. I think it's coming along good. ΣПDiПG–STΛЯT (Talk) 00:18, 15 October 2010 (UTC)

Question: why did you put "Albums" instead of "Album" as the column header? Or is that just a repeated typo? Yves (talk) 00:20, 15 October 2010 (UTC)

typo? -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me 00:27, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, on the Nicole Scherzinger discog. On WP:DISCOGSTYLE, it's the singular and you have the plural. Yves (talk) 00:29, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
I was just posting the first part from what Unique had on what he did. ΣПDiПG–STΛЯT (Talk) 00:24, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
Oh, sorry, Zach; I was addressing Lil. Yves (talk) 00:26, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
Oh, okay. Nevermind. Makes sense. :$ ΣПDiПG–STΛЯT (Talk) 00:26, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
