Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Sydney Mitchell LLP, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an acceptable page. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item G11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this page is not blatant advertising, . Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. You are welcome to edit the page to fix this problem, but please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. As well as removing promotional phrasing, it helps to add factual encyclopaedic information to the page, and add citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the page will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. 2601:188:0:ABE6:B53D:47CE:83E6:3C5F (talk) 13:27, 24 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Information icon Hello, Linda Heyworth. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you have an external relationship with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies. Note that Wikipedia's terms of use require disclosure of your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. 2601:188:0:ABE6:B53D:47CE:83E6:3C5F (talk) 13:29, 24 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Information icon Hello, I'm Deb. I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you.

Please also note, that while I didn't tag the article for copyright violations, it's usually illegal to copy and paste content from other websites or publications, into Wikipedia space. This is often easy to detect by virtue of the promotional tone, and can be easily cross-checked. Thank you, 2601:188:0:ABE6:B53D:47CE:83E6:3C5F (talk) 13:33, 24 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Sydney Mitchell LLP

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Sydney Mitchell LLP requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. | Naypta opened his mouth at 14:37, 24 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

If you recreate the article again you will be blocked from editing. I strongly suggest you use the WP:AFC process to create a draft which will be looked over by an experienced editor. --NeilN talk to me 16:38, 24 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi Linda,, here is where you can edit, click this link, Draft:Sydney Mitchell LLP., then click the link it offers, and create that new blank page in draft-space. Later, you can add more information to the draft, just click 'edit' at the top of the page. I strongly recommend you start small (a couple sentences at a time), and visit the WP:TEAHOUSE or the live-help-chat forum([1]) to ask for advice. These are not staffed 24/7, and are volunteer efforts, so don't expect instant responses, and if nobody notices your question, just try asking again the next day. Seemingly innocuous phrases, like "Sydney Mitchell is a prestigious firm" and maybe "Sydney Mitchell is a great place to work" are considered promotional for an encyclopedia, unless those specific claims are backed up by a university professor in their academic publications, by an independent third-party journalist in the newspapers/radio/magazine/television/etc media, or similar WP:SOURCES. It will take some time for you to write a 'wiki-proper' wikipedia article about the firm, and to understand the various rules of the wiki-jungle. But don't lose hope, and don't think you need to read all the rules -- there are a bazillion of them, just read over WP:COI and WP:5 a few times each. You can leave a message on my talkpage if you need more help, click 'talk' next to my signature, click 'new section' at the top, type your note and click save. However, remember that if you are not logged in, I won't know who you are -- that is why Neil was confused when you left a note for them, earlier. It always helps if you leave the URL of the page you are working on, so that people can be reminded what is being discussed! Wikipedia has a lot of articles, as you may have noticed.  :-)    75.108.94.227 (talk) 12:41, 27 August 2015 (UTC)Reply
