Hello, I'm ThaddeusSholto. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Kevin Sullivan (journalist) have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. ThaddeusSholto (talk) 16:24, 11 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Kevin Sullivan (journalist). While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. 🇺🇲JayCubby✡ plz edit my user pg! Talk 20:16, 11 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please stop. If you continue to remove maintenance templates without resolving the problem that the template refers to, as you did at Mary Jordan (journalist), you may be blocked from editing. ThaddeusSholto (talk) 20:33, 11 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Notice of Conflict of interest noticeboard discussion

edit

There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard regarding a possible conflict of interest incident with which you may be involved. Thank you. ThaddeusSholto (talk) 20:16, 11 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Is there a way to get these edits verified? They are all accurate and can be corroborated by other sources. Lisakennedyy (talk) 20:28, 11 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
You have a COI so you need to stop editing those articles directly. You can make suggestions on the article talk pages and if they have reliable sources uninvolved editors can add the information. ThaddeusSholto (talk) 20:36, 11 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Welcome!

edit

Hello, Lisakennedyy, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Kevin Sullivan (journalist), which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, visit the Teahouse, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! 🇺🇲JayCubby✡ plz edit my user pg! Talk 20:39, 11 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Edit requests

edit

Hi Lisa, thank you for using the talk pages of Mary Jordan (journalist) and Kevin Sullivan (journalist) to suggest changes to the articles, as is strongly preferred under the conflict of interest guidelines. However, please note that you need to provide a reliable, independent, secondary source for all proposed changes. Also, all content should be written from a neutral point of view. It is also much easier to propose smaller changes, one at a time, rather than large slabs/paragraphs of text which are more difficult for a reviewer to verify. The easiest way to suggest changes is to use the Wikipedia:Edit Request Wizard which can guide you step by step. My suggestion would be to replace the requests you have just made with ones made using that method, and to keep them as succint as possible for now. Thank you Melcous (talk) 13:59, 12 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abusing multiple accounts as a sockpuppet of User:Patrickmulholland per the evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Patrickmulholland.
