Hey all! This is my talk page. I'm very new to contributing to Wikipedia, although I've been a reader for years. I'm interested in learning pretty much anything new, and some of my favorite subjects are philosophy, poetry, literature, and new inventions.

Welcome Lizzythetech!

Hello Lizzythetech. Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions!

There are many ways you can contribute to Wikipedia. Here are a few ideas:

Be a WikiFairy or a WikiGnome
    Help contribute to articles
    Perform maintenance tasks

Become a member of a project that interests you
    Help design new templates
Subscribe and contribute to The Signpost
Translate articles from Wikipedias in other languages

To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own personal sandbox for use any time. It's perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}} on your user page. By the way, seeing as you haven't created a user page yet, simply click here to start it.

Please remember to:

  • Always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the   button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes ~~~~ at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to your talk page, and a timestamp.
  • Leave descriptive edit summaries for your edits. Doing so helps other editors understand what changes you have made and why you made them.
The best way to learn about something is to experience it. Explore, learn, contribute, and don't forget to have some fun!

Sincerely, Sm8900 (talk) 16:34, 18 September 2020 (UTC)   (Leave me a message)Reply

Future of Daxbot (Robot) and other articles, if any

edit

Thanks for you significant improvements to Daxbot (Robot) in light of review suggestions. I wish more new editors responded as well.

If you have further changes to make to Daxbot (Robot), please do not make them directly. Instead place your suggested change on Talk:Daxbot (Robot) along with the {{Request edit}} template (follow the link for usage instructions). The exception is reverting obvious vandalism, you may do that directly. This is because of your status as a paid editor.

While you may now create articles directly without going through a draft, I advise you not to do so. I further strongly advise that in the case of any articles where you have a paid status, or a strong WP:COI, you use draft and AfC. This avoids problems and possible deletion. Thanks for letting me know! I would like to create other articles in the future (they probably wont be articles with a conflict of interest, though). I really appreciate the time that everyone has taken to show me the ropes. Lizzythetech (talk) 16:07, 22 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

October 2020

edit

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add promotional or advertising material to Wikipedia, as you did at Daxbot, you may be blocked from editing. You disclosed that you work for the company that makes this robot. You have done little else on Wikipedia but to promote it. If you continue doing so, you will likely be blocked from contributing further. Sandstein 14:14, 4 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

I wrote one article that I was very transparent about, asked for help keeping within the guidelines. I didn't even end up publishing it because someone else published it for me. When someone voted to take it down I gave my reasons for disagreeing with them, and then stepped back and let the Wiki community decide, after which I did nothing to promote the article that had been deleted or refute the decision. I have acted reasonably and above board in every instance, and if you consider writing one article on something I know about undue promotion, I think your problem is with something else and not with me.
