Nab

Hi Logan,

I understand your concern about having the term "nab" in the lede of the arrest article. I placed it there because I was reformatting the nab disambiguation page. In order to justify a link to the arrest article (and avoid the accusation of providing mere dictionary definitions on a disambiguation page), the term "nab" had to exist somewhere in the arrest article. No citations are allowed on disambiguation pages according to guidelines, so having the term on the arrest article is the only way to justify the link. Is there somewhere else in the arrest article that you feel would be more appropriate for a mention of the term?

Thank you for your detailed response. Your argument that "nab" is not used as a noun seems logical to me. Feel free to remove it from the lede if you see fit. By this same token, however, I can't see that the entry on the disambiguation page is justified, therefore if it is removed from the arrest article, the corresponding entry on the nab disambiguation page should be removed as well.

homosexuality

Dear Loganberry, I have recently read a new book that was released late last year that I would like to bring to your attention. This is a book that addresses homosexuality from the Bible's perspective. While I have read many books on the subject, this work sheds tremendous scriptural light on what is actually recorded in that wonderful book. I feel very strongly that it will help those who are struggling with this issue personally, or within their families or circle of friends. The book is well written and very clear on God's perspective, yet it is not condemning. I belong to a small grass roots ministry that happens to believe that the threat of homosexuality is very great to our nation and to our way of life. So I, along with a couple of others are trying to get word out about this book to ministries/organizations that may have opportunity to minister to believers that are confused over this topic. Your ministry/organization was mentioned to me and hence, this email. The name of the book is God's Word Speaks to Homosexuality. It was written by Walter Klein. I beleive it can be purchased in any book store and it may be a great addition to your online store. Thanks for that although now i have found using Google Maps strange. From the coordinates you gave it first put me in the North Sea off the coast of Norfolk, then it put me at a village called Fernhill Heath near Worcester! Imran Khan

Hi, I moved the Imran Khan page because the Indian actor has become a star now and has garnered much more attention than the great cricketer recently (just check google news). And as evident, he is going to continue to grow popular - that is why it seems the most user-friendly to make "Imran Khan" a dab page. Imran Khan - the actor

You are right that the entry is short and unsubstantial right now. The same was true of even the cricketer's entry until a short time ago (I myself wrote most of the article for Imran Khan (Pakistani cricketer) as it exists today). You can't really judge the actor's popularity from his wiki page - I can find a lot of credible sources and update the entry asap to meet wiki standards. The idea is to make this more convenient for the readers. The actor is a young man who has made a hit entry into film stardom - I reckon there are more people looking for info on him than the cricketer, who though still the most well known has in many ways receded from the headlines (I don't think many ppl outside the Pakistani media have been keeping up with his political ventures). As someone with knowledge of Indian films and the subcontinent, I think it seems fair to do this. But go ahead, talk it out.Busillis (talk) 19:40, 10 July 2008 (UTC)

i'm wondering if you would not mind looking doing copy editing work on the Kirkcaldy article - which recently i have uploaded a lot of information for. if you can do this for me - then it would be much appreciated.

p.s. since i found you on the Kidderminster discussion page, did you know that Victoria Carpets of Kidderminster was initially founded in Kirkcaldy and re-located there in 1901. i have to still to get round to making a mention of this on the Kirkcaldy and would like to do so on the Kidderminster page Kilnburn (talk) 19:35, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

don't worry about not knowing the place, it's not important - doing a clean-up of typos etc was all i was asking for - so other users can be given the right to make their own mark, other than me who has made far far too many edits to the article recently. so just go ahead.

Charlie Bull

That's a sad story. "Bull's Worcestershire debut came against the New Zealanders in May 1931, when opening the batting he scored just 8 and 6, but his career for his new county truly began in 1933." I don't know for sure, but I imagine that was because he would have had to serve a two year residential qualification after leaving Kent before he could appear in County Championship matche for his new county. And I still not know what is the legal status under the law of the USA of a public announcement in the UK. I believe it has none, And it is this kind of things that creates problems. Like there were not enough around.

Jupiter Ace

Thanks for you help. I do have a question to ask, as I do not know if in agreement with the needed rules.

Here goes: Some characteristics of the Ace MAY be considered opinions though they are well known in practice. They were avoided by that doubt.

1. The Case: It's fragile and of bad quality (not an impotant issue thought descriptive)
2. The Keyboard: Extremely unpleasant due to the huge size of the keys - they are too high and the connection rubber is too tick. As a result of this bad factoring they bend instead of going up and down. Not an opinion but a fact easily confirmed by testing.
3. The 1KB option made the Ace a limited machine. Personally I always have regretted that limitation.
4. The 1KB reality MAY had come to life by several reasons. First financial, as the J. Cantab was externally financed. But was it accepted with the hope to use the remaining 3KB in a future color version? (these are not facts, just detective work).

A small personal note:

• In a sense I'm a fan because a functional piece can be as admirable as a piece of art. Though the definition of art is something personal. This is specially true when we achieve to know that piece in the smallest details. Which has happened.
• In another sense I'm a critique of the Ace for it's faults and frustration from consciousness of what it could have been.

A request, if I may:

• Fact is: I'm not sure of what can be stated, or it's relevance. As user I was, they are relevant. But may be unpleasant to fans and useless to the Wiki. There you may help, though one person at a time may be exhausting to you. I'm aware and thankful.

• As I feel the description is acceptable, and there are other places to details (like the ACE RESOURCE), I would like (if possible) to receive feedback on the questions above and/suggestions they may help a productive work. In case I decide to give more contributions. At the moment I need a change, and work on the Ace to be done and published, but those directions you might give would not be lost. Nothing is ever lost if done with care.
