Hello. Your recent edit to Pincher Creek appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. - Thanks for the tips. I have read over some of the introduction to editing material but will definitely now do the Wikipedia Adventure. I don't know that I am confident enough to write a page for Ruth Collins-Nakai. However, I think she definitely qualifies as a notable person and I feel women are going to be less likely to have pre-existing articles so this requirement of Wikipedia would unfairly discriminate against women. Ruth Collins-Nakai was the first female president of the Canadian Medical Association, she initiated the Heritage Pediatric Program at the University of Alberta. Moreover, she was President of the Alberta Medical Association (first woman), Chair of the Board of Governors of the American College of Cardiology (first woman and first Canadian), the President of the Canadian Cardiovascular Society (first woman), and most recently as the President of the InterAmerican Society of Cardiology (first woman). 75.156.36.113 (talk) 22:00, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
- Have a look at WP:BIO. If you think she meets the criteria then an article would be beneficial. I actually went looking for a biography about her in a secondary source and found nothing. If you need help let me know. Cheers. Magnolia677 (talk) 23:12, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
- Here are a couple of biographical sources: [1][2]. My feeling is she would likely pass notability. Very accomplished person. Magnolia677 (talk) 23:19, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks. I'm going to try to reach out to her and see if she would be willing to collaborate on a bio. Thanks for the encouragement! 2001:569:F950:D400:38F7:EA5D:55DC:4163 (talk) 00:42, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
- That is not permitted per WP:COI. Magnolia677 (talk) 08:40, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
- oh ok. I will read up on the WP:COI. I feel it would be courteous to try and let her know I would like to do this. 75.156.36.113 (talk) 13:55, 5 April 2022 (UTC)
