File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Black (current members).jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. FASTILY (TALK) 04:00, 1 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

File source problem with File:Black in conference.jpg

edit

File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Black in conference.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 08:25, 1 August 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Amalthea 08:25, 1 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Image uploads

edit

Hello
Please take great care to only upload images to which you own copyright, or which were explicitly released by their copyright owners under a free license. All other images will have to be deleted, and you bring Wikipedia, it's re-users and yourself into legal jeopardy by doing so.
Kind regards, Amalthea 08:30, 1 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for File:Black (current members).jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Black (current members).jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Amalthea 09:36, 1 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

I'm afraid that your new upload still can not remain on Wikipedia: There are very very strict criteria that non-free must pass, stated at WP:NFC. In particular, images can never be used under a claim of fair use simply for decoration, and I'm certain that no critical commentary can be made on that image to allow writing up a valid fair-use rationale.
I'm afraid that if you don't find a freely licensed image of the band, then the article very simply can't have one at the moment. That's not uncommon, a lot of high-profile bands don't have one for the very same reason. Amalthea 09:40, 1 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Hridoy Khan

edit

A tag has been placed on Hridoy Khan requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Orphaned non-free image (File:Black Logo.PNG)

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Black Logo.PNG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. ZooFari 04:41, 22 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Stentorian (band)

edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Stentorian (band), and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.banglamusic.com/artists/stentorian/index.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Stentorian (band), but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to be a copy from http://www.banglamusic.com/artists/stentorian/index.html, and therefore a copyright violation. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators are liable to be blocked from editing.

If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under allowance license, then you should do one of the following:

It may also be necessary for the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and to follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at this temporary page. Leave a note at Talk:Stentorian (band) saying you have done so and an administrator will move the new article into place once the issue is resolved. Thank you, and please feel welcome to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Happy editing! Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:54, 30 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your efforts to address copyright concerns, but unfortunately the article still retains precise duplication of the source and close paraphrasing. Except when you use brief quotations in accordance with WP:NFC, Wikipedia can only accept material that is licensed for reuse or that is written entirely in your own language. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:54, 30 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
