Copy edit issues

edit

Could you stop doing this to several articles. You are not improving the prose, but rather introducing a lot of minor language errors. -- Cold Season (talk) 13:22, 29 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

I should note that Asian names sometimes start with the surname followed by the given name, so please double-check if you want to remove the given name.--Cold Season (talk) 13:49, 29 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
I will triple check the language point, but some of this articles do need correction and editing, some of them have repeated information in two or three paragraphs, (e.x the japan invasions to Korea has the SAME information repetead two or three times). Also, some names of the dynasties or individuals are written accordingly to the English criteria but this articles are consulted by a large number of international users so, I think it is important to include at least once the other names criterias (example: Joseon, and Choson) But I will make sure about the language errors. Thanks!
Well, the alternative names or synonyms are not the issue, I'm ok with it. Although, a wikilink would suffice to prevent clutter. It's more the language errors that is the issue, maybe you could throw the text into a spell checker like the one in windows word (I often do so when adding new content) if you really desire to copy edit the article, so less errors get overseen instead of introducing more. Good luck with editting, Cold Season (talk) 18:39, 29 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Style

edit

When you're adding content to articles, you have to include references/citations and add in-line citations for references to the content you add, and please write in an encyclopedic style and refrain from using unnecessary weasel words. See the Manual of Style for more information, and thanks for your contributions. - M0rphzone (talk) 04:25, 17 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Oh! I didn´t know about the weasel words. I will pay further attention to it.Thank you. I thought I had included references, could you point out where I haven´t so I can include them? I have all the links and sources and I would like to leave it as neat as possible.
You have included some external links into articles such as History of Cambodia, Buddhism and Eastern religions, Land mines in Cambodia, Japanese invasions of Korea (1592–1598), Panthera Corporation, Prostitution in Japan, and Four Asian Tigers, but you should add them specifically after the sentences that you are adding. Use <ref>Insert reference here</ref> to cite sources after sentences. See WP:IC for more info on in-line citations, and you can see your previous contributions by clicking on the My contributions link at the top beside the Log out link. Also, when you reply in Talk pages, use the : to indent for proper reply format. - M0rphzone (talk) 00:56, 18 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Celtic polytheism

edit

I didn't understand your edit summary here when you say you're placing the material in chronological order. You've placed "Irish and Welsh sources" before "Greek and Roman sources". There may be a reason to place Irish and Welsh sources first, but the reason wouldn't be chronological order, right? Just wanted to make sure you did what you intended to do. Citations again

edit

At Aztec mythology you are still adding bare urls to articles. I note there is a reference section, and I don't think you started it, but these are sometimes a problem as it needs to be explicit (down to page numbers if it is a book) exactly what is being used to source what. If you look at all the menus above the edit window, you will see at the top right a drop down menu for 'cite'. When that is open, at the left hand side you'll see a menu Templates which will automate things for you. One note, when you add books you also have to click on show/hide extra fields which gives you a field for page numbers. Thanks. Dougweller (talk) 16:09, 3 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thank you, I added the reference correctly with number page and everything since I added a quote. That´s much better. I´m trying to put now the reference in the reference section (which indeed I did not start) with the appropriate quote number.Loupiotte (talk) 16:50, 3 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Ah! I see the problem. Inline citations require a template to be added, eg {{Reflist}} which I have just added, so you should see references now showing up, and when you click on the number in the text you get taken to the reference. Don't forget to sign talk page edits with 4 tildes, ~~~~, and indent - see WP:Indent. Dougweller (talk) 16:47, 3 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Oh.. I see. Thank you, I will try and make it work for the rest see if I finally got it. Loupiotte (talk) 16:50, 3 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi. When you recently edited Gasret Aliev, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Rutul (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
