Hello, I'm DreamRimmer. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to 2024 Jerusalem mayoral election because they seemed inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. DreamRimmer (talk) 10:13, 13 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi, @Loves coffee. You added the links again, citing wiki guidelines. Which guidelines supported external links in the article itself? If none, please revert the edits. A3811 (talk) 16:54, 13 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
  1. I removed the external links from the article itself and left both in the table, after reading Wikipedia:External links : Scroll down to the second table (which I was unable to copy/paste into this reply):
"In other cases, such as for lists of political candidates and software, a list may be formatted as a table, and appropriate external links can be displayed compactly within the table:
Election results"
2. re transliteration of 'Olim to Jerusalem', I tried to add note [c] after 'Olim' and give the translation below, as is given for Hitorerut[a] and Noam[b] but did not find how to insert a third note. Hence I compromised: "Olim (Ascending) to Jerusalem". However, please note, some of the parties/lists (like Degel HaTorah) are known by their Hebrew names with no translation. Others (like Labor) are given in their English translation with no Hebrew name (Avoda or עבודה). I have not seen any English translation for 'Olim to Jerusalem'. If one exists, it may be 'Ascent to Jerusalem', or 'Rising up to Jerusalem' or something else altogether. If up to me alone, I would leave "Olim to Jerusalem עולים לירושלים" as it appears on the cited Ministry of Interior website, and delete the translations in notes [a] and [b]. Nobody calls these parties 'Awakening' or 'Pleasantness'. In English, they are always written Hitorerut and Noam. Also, other parties could be translated (like Otzma Yehudit, Degel HaTorah) but aren't. The translations are irrelevant.
3. Re spelling of Bnei Torah, I have always seen בני תורה, בני ברק spelled Bnei. See for example
https://www.jpost.com/israel-news/politics-and-diplomacy/article-759043
Likewise in
Jerusalem Faction
4. Re changing Katamon to Baka, I wrote Katamon because (a) in the cited reference #12, a resident of Katamon is quoted saying the route will affect 4 neighborhoods besides just the German Colony and (b) because it says Katamon in
https://he.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D7%94%D7%A7%D7%95_%D7%94%D7%9B%D7%97%D7%95%D7%9C_%D7%A9%D7%9C_%D7%94%D7%A8%D7%9B%D7%91%D7%AA_%D7%94%D7%A7%D7%9C%D7%94_%D7%91%D7%99%D7%A8%D7%95%D7%A9%D7%9C%D7%99%D7%9D
. And, (c) See
https://jet.gov.il/blue-line/
- route goes from Emek Refaim to Pierre Koenig to HaTnufa in Talpiot, then to Tzomet Patt and Arena/Malha Train Station. It does not enter Baka. I changed it back to Katamon.

ok, thank you! I agree with your reasoning, except for Noam and Hiturerut translation (needed to give meaning to 'Hitorerut in Jerusalem' and 'Jerusalem in Noam'). Thanks for the sources. A3811 (talk) 13:32, 14 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello Loves coffee! Your additions to Judicial Selection Committee (Israel) have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source. You must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. Read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices. Our policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 13:36, 11 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Bentzi Gopstein, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Amana. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 19:55, 19 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
