Hi, welcome to wikipedia. Just thought I'd mention that you don't need to put quotes around titles of articles you start, and that titles should capitalize anything that would be capitalized in the official title of something ( i.e. "d.c. lotteries" vs D.C. Lotteries). You can add {{gambling-stub}} and [[Category:Lotteries]] to articles you start on lotteries.--Eloil 14:30, 28 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

One other thing, you should put quotes like '''Name here''' (three single quote marks like ' on each side) around the name of the article's subject the first time it appears in the article text, that way it appears in bold. For example, "The '''Iowa Lottery''' is run by the state of Iowa" displays as "The Iowa Lottery is run by the state of Iowa". —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Eloil (talkcontribs) 14:56, 28 April 2007 (UTC).Reply

When you add a link to a website it should look like this:

and be in an "external links" section. (see "How to edit a page" above.) This will look like this:

Maine lottery article

edit

The Maine Lottery article is very lean (contains minimal information) and needs work. In fact, it was tagged for speedy-delete, then reviewed and allowed to stay with suggestions for improvements. Would you please check the discussion area for this article Talk:Maine Lottery. The article could use a lot of improvement and the discussion area contains some suggestions. Notability of Newport Grand Jai Alai

edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Newport Grand Jai Alai, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Newport Grand Jai Alai seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Newport Grand Jai Alai, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself.   Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Mad Money (film), is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. This is especially important when dealing with biographies of living people, but applies to all Wikipedia articles. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are already familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add your reference to the article. Thank you. Cirt (talk) 17:37, 28 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Tennessee Lotto Plus

edit

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Tennessee Lotto Plus, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Tennessee Lotto Plus. Unreferenced BLPs

edit

Hello Loveyourcar! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 12 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

Speedy deletion nomination of Krasdale Foods

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Krasdale Foods requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Triwbe (talk) 19:09, 21 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
