Your article

Hi,

I'm sorry to have to tell you this, my young friend, but I really can't imagine any way in which your article could be made fit for our encyclopedia. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a collection of every fact that has ever existed; as such, certain standards of notability are enforced. A person or a thing doesn't need to be as famous as David Beckham to make the encyclopedia, but its article does need to demonstrate a level of widespread interest, at least within a substantial geographic region, or an influential group of experts (like an important scientific theory would.)

A local game, established last year, between a school team and its alumni players, is almost definitely not notable. Once the game has been established for at least a decade, once it has been mentioned in major national newspapers multiple times, once famous players have returned to play in it -- then, it will belong in Wikipedia. Until then, I'm sorry to say, it belongs on the school's webpage. Best wishes, Xoloz 20:07, 1 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
