Why do people always have a go against Islam?

I think it is a daisgrace that christians are so derogatory about Islam, especially the way they blame the whole of Islam for terrorism. I want to know, do you agree and support my views? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 213.2.48.70 (talk) 11:59, 17 April 2007 (UTC).Reply

You're painting with a pretty wide brush, there -- especially odd, since that seems to be the very same behavior you're complaining about. I prefer to avoid the common human tendency to create "us against them" scenarios. Real life is far more nuanced than that, as is my opinion on the subject. That's probably about as far as I'll delve into my own political opinions on this wiki. We're here to build a neutral encyclopedia, which means that our own personal opinions should take a back seat. That's my take, in any case. Might I inquire what prompted you to ask? – Luna Santin (talk) 21:09, 17 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

WP:AIV

I was about to respond to your comment on WP:AIV regarding the IP that only had two edits today, but the slate was wiped clean. My understanding was that as long as a last warning was recent (less than two hours), then it should be reported. Please let me know if I'm wrong. --Joelmills 21:31, 17 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Looks like Veinor blocked it, after my reply; once a reported user/IP is blocked, the bot removes the listing from the page. On closer review, I was thinking about blocking it, as well: that one's a school IP, and was contributing mostly vandalism. IPs with little or no history, I prefer to give a few chances, but if an IP only throws abuse our way, it eventually becomes a drain on resources and it makes more sense to block it and save the trouble. But, the main thing I'd say on this subject is: not everybody has the same ideas, on this, so when in doubt, report and see what happens. The worst that can happen is somebody declines to block. You'll get a feel for things, over time, I'm sure. :) Either way, thanks for your efforts to improve the wiki, I always appreciate that. – Luna Santin (talk) 21:34, 17 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please let the user know that they are blocked by putting a block template on there talk page. I already did with the user User talk:24.4.15.40 which you just recently blocked. It is very confusing to know that they are blocked without warning them. Please do so when you block users. Thank you. King Lopez Contribs 08:33, 18 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Before I respond in full, let me just say that this sort of thing has come up before, at more than a few user talk pages, and a few times at the village pump and admin noticeboards -- to my knowledge, there's never been community-wide consensus as to whether the block messages should be expected. In my particular case, you may not understand the sheer magnitude of your request. I don't honestly know how many blocks I've set, but I imagine that the number exceeds 6,000 at this point in time; that would be a huge investment on my part for an issue that only turns up a few occassional requests, complaints, or other problems. 6,000 edits is somewhere betweeen a sixth and an eigth of my personal "count" and represents a considerable investment -- considering that this time and effort could be (in my opinion) better spent dealing with current vandals, responding to unblock requests, tending to mailing list administration and ever-growing wiki backlogs, or even taking care of real life issues, I will have to respectfully decline your request at this time. I do apologize for any confusion I may have caused you, or will cause any friendly users in the future, but I just don't think this is something I can commit to doing. – Luna Santin (talk) 05:34, 19 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
That was an awfully long-winded way of saying "no", Luna :)
Better to explain why a block message on the talk page is (save in exceptional circumstances) redundant and hence not essential. A blocked user will be notified of their block automatically if they try to edit, and that the message they recieve will contain both the reason for their block and an explanation of how to appeal it, so from the blocked user's side of things, there should be no issues. Should one, as an experienced user, wish to know whether the user is blocked or not, one can simply check the user's block log, which is only two clicks from their talk page – and if that's too much, a few lines of javascript will get you a nice "log" tab next to the "history" tab and make it a single click.
Oh, and Luna, if you find yourself pushed for time:
  • Administratifying mailing lists sounds suspiciously like a complete waste of time
  • As does redesigning your userpage to be a giant sheep
  • And... stop blocking so many users! There'll be none left.
Well, OK, perhaps not that last one. But you of all people should know there's never a community-wide consensus on anythingGurch 21:51, 19 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Those two seem to be the same person, as far as I can tell. The tag on the userpage is probably more important than the particular block log entry (which frequently points to another sockpuppet if a particular admin joins halfway through everything -- people will figure it out). – Luna Santin (talk) 22:29, 20 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Trust me; it's Butterrum. I'm not trying to belittle you in any way, but I've been going at it with him for almost half a year now and I know how he types: he spells "deleted" like "dealted," something that almost all of his sockpuppets have done, and he uses absolutely no periods in his messages, excluding some of his recent ones. Craxy, on the other hand, will usually use an abundance of exclamation points in messages directed at me when I tell him I know he's a puppet; Craxy can also spell most of his words correctly, which Butterrum doesn't. If you wish, you can check the above contributions to verify what I've said. ♣ Klptyzm Chat wit' me § Contributions01:48, 21 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Oh, no offense taken. I noticed enough mannerisms and interests in common to be sure somebody was abusing accounts. If it's two people with socks, that would explain that little nagging doubt pretty well. If it becomes a problem, I can adjust the block to show the right name. For now, I think it's resolved until either of them crops up again (let me know if I'm wrong, of course). – Luna Santin (talk) 02:56, 21 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Question about blocking period

I was recently made an admin and am trying to get my arms around how long I should block vandals. I understand the default is 24 hours, but noticed that for User talk:89.172.86.37, you set the block to 31 hours. If you have time, could you explain the reason for what you did? Please understand, I'm not questioning what you did, but rather trying to learn. I have added your talk page to my watchlist, so you can reply here. Thanks! wrp103 (Bill Pringle) (Talk) 23:18, 22 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

It's a bit of a mystery. Some admins block for 24 hours, others block for 31. I've seen all sorts of people do either. I guess if somebody comes back to edit at a particular time of day (and they're still on the same IP), then the extra 7 hours gives them a bit more time to wait. I tend to default to 31 for vandalism and 24 for other disruption (3rr, copyright issues, and such) -- persistent vandals aren't likely to reform, but other people might, so I'd like to stay a little more friendly with them, I guess is the logic I'm applying there. Whatever your preference is. If you'd like to peek around in my monobook, feel free. And, of course, congratulations on your adminship! :) – Luna Santin (talk) 23:24, 22 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the tips! And, to demonstrate my ignorance (I'm not proud) what is a monobook? wrp103 (Bill Pringle) (Talk) 23:30, 22 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Of course. :) "Monobook" is the default site skin (most Wikipedians use it, although there are others), and a user can create subpages to customize it, in my case User:Luna Santin/monobook.js and User:Luna Santin/monobook.css. The first adds useful scripts and buttons and things, the second tweaks some display options (you can do things like removing the Wikipedia logo, if you think it takes too much space, or taking all of the sharp edges on the site and making them rounded, among other things). Unfortunately, I'm no wizard at either, but I do know a little. There should be plenty more information at WP:JS. In particular, popups are a pretty popular script. – Luna Santin (talk) 23:33, 22 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Duh! ;^) I use popups all the time, and love it! wrp103 (Bill Pringle) (Talk) 00:18, 23 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Ahh, heh. :) Yeah, popups are great. They manage to crash some of the poor computers at school. I remember one time, I was logging in, and the poor thing just froze, its cooling fans turned on full blast, and it never did actually finish loading the page. Oops. I should probably register a sock, to fix that. – Luna Santin (talk) 01:33, 23 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

You're free to hold whatever opinions you like, to post on talk pages, to crusade for change, and to be an educated person. As an educated person, however, I should hope you realize two things: (1) edit warring is, always has been, and always will be, an incredibly disruptive act, damaging to the encyclopedia's credibility and community, and (2) you're deep into a hole, at the moment, and should probably stop digging. I readily recognize that I'm no legal scholar -- your behavior, however, is not becoming of one. Those who disrupt the project will find themselves asked to leave. I'm not saying you can't help, I'm not saying you can't discuss, but the key word there is discuss -- no matter how professional you may be, the article is not your exclusive playground, and you do need to discuss controversial changes with other editors. If you can't accept that, then unfortunately you're not cut out for a group project. – Luna Santin (talk) 00:39, 24 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Deleted a page

You deleted Justin Samuel for not asserting notability. It mentions that he was a federal criminal and that he is hated by much of a popular movement--animal rights--for his role in turning witness & cooperating with the government to convict his co-defendant in order to receive a lighter sentence. For someone to be on the FBI wanted list, serve in federal prison and be hated by many people, I think that assesses a degree of notability. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ryansmithxvx (talkcontribs) 03:56, 24 April 2007 (UTC).Reply

Block of 67.79.148.42

Shouldn't a message be left on User talk:67.79.148.42 as a record of the block? Tamino 18:22, 24 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

(Replying as Luna is no doubt bored of answering messages about this- see above). There is no consensus as to whether messages are needed. The account will know they're blocked when then try to edit and get all relevant info. The account's block log contains the relevant info for everyone else. So its a matter of administrative discretion- I leave messages, Luna doesn't... No harm either way. WjBscribe 18:25, 24 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
(EC'd! Funny how this never comes up, and then I get two threads in a week about it, heh) Isn't that what block logs for for? >_> The block message won't do the user(s) on the IP any good, they'll already know they're blocked as soon as they try to edit. I do leave block messages for people who may be coming back, or otherwise reforming, but for everday vandals, it seems more useful to move on to the next issue. That's my take, anyway. Hi there. Can you please have a look at User:68.35.123.63; their autoblock is affecting User:EnglishEfternamn who, as far as I know, is a good-faith editor. I was going to clear the autoblock but I saw your reason to block was "sock farm for EineNeueSchuhe", and that you had declined to unblock the IP already, so I thought I would speak to you before doing anything. You seem to know this person better than I do, and if you'll vouch for them, that's good enough for me. Just be aware that the IP itself does seem to be the source of a sockfarm numbering at least a dozen or two, and that I'm not seeing any significant evidence it's shared. The socks are annoying, and I would like to see them blocked, but if doing so costs us a good contributor, I'd rather deal with the socks again. Lunaccount-l 23:47, 24 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Interesting. Let me unblock for now, and I will help keep an eye out for the sock situation you describe. EE has been a problematic editor but seems to have reformed. I still have his talk watchlisted which was how I saw his problems. Thanks for the speedy response. --Guinnog 23:55, 24 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Will do. Let's hope this works out well. – Luna Santin (talk) 00:03, 25 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
I see that as soon as the autoblock was removed, the sockpuppets started up again. EE needs to answer a few questions about the Ichtragekeineschuhe sockpuppets and IP 68.35.108.94 (Ichtragekeineschuhe was originally a sockpuppet of blocked User:68.35.108.94, as shown by their 'true flag' vandalism to South Africa).
1) Does EE associate with User:68.35.108.94 as claimed by that user on 15 April, in a request to be unblocked? They said that EE was one of the users of the same IP, and how else would User:68.35.108.94 know this, if they are not friends?
2) On 15 April why did EE make two edits that were vandalism following the same pattern as the Ichtragekeineschuhe sockpuppets ? (Stalking contributions from someone who had given Ichtragekeineschuhe a vandalism warning, and reverting their improvements to articles on bogus 'neutrality' grounds). These edits were:
  • 20:57, 15 April 2007 (hist) (diff) m Bemba people (Revert for neutrality)
  • 20:57, 15 April 2007 (hist) (diff) m Cape to Cairo Road (Revert to more neutral version)
3) Why did EE pretend to not understand a query about these edits which was put on EE's talk page on 20 April by User:Rexparry_sydney, referring specifically to the similarity with vandalism by User:68.35.108.94? EE deleted the query shortly after.
Notice also that one of Ichtragekeineschuhe's aliases was JagKommerFrånEngland which is Swedish for 'I come from England'. EE is from England and uses Swedish a lot, as in 'Efternamn'. I'm not saying EE must be the puppetmaster, but they probably use the same computer. Strayan 06:00, 26 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

"* Decline reason: Let us know when you plan on acting your age. This one should last about 24 hours. Luna Santin (talk) 17:59, 24 April 2007 (UTC)"

You appear to have posted this in the wrong location. I did not request a block removal. In fact, I had requested my user page and talk page be *removed*. Because there was an IP block, my guess is that it snagged someone or someones else.

In North America it is considered rude to suggest an action that you know someone cannot take. In this case, knowing that I was blocked, you knew that I could not "let us know" anything, whoever "us" is (is there someone in there with you?). Except insofar as you have office or authority in Wikipedia, no one cares about your personal assessments. In fulfilling your office or in exercising your authority, sharing your personal assessments is inappropriate.

In the United States in particular derogatory references to age, national origin, race, and religion violate both Federal and various state laws, are subject to civil action, and in some cases criminal action, and were I you I would refrain from making them. You do not know me, my age or sex, and gross impertinence suggesting that I act some age or other is unwarranted. It was, in fact, a personal attack:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:NPA

If you wish to present as an impartial moderating influence in Wikipedia, leading by example in exercising office or authority, instead of presenting as an ill-bred boorish self-absorbed git, take these few observations in the spirit they were intended, control your editorializing, and familiarize yourself with internationally appropriate demeanor and etiquette. It will pay off in the long run, and I encourage you to learn from this and change your ways.

Bon appetit. Don't respond. Adieu.

I go well with chicken. In any case, Eblem, if you want to edit productively, you're free to do so. If you want to play nicely with others, you're free to do so. If you even want to call me a git (heavens, no!), go right ahead. There are a few things that will result in your being blocked, however: edit warring, pretending you own pages and throwing temper tantrums when you discover you don't, abusive sockpuppetry (especially to avoid blocks), and anything even resembling another legal threat against any editor, ever -- I can't control whether you want to play lawyer, and don't intend to, but you're not welcome to do so on the wiki itself. Help Me

Hi. Thanks for your help on Column Width in Tables. I am relatively new to Wikipedia. To be honest, I barely understood a word of your response to me. Can you please re-read my question and respond in simpler terms. Think, "Dummy's Guide to Creating a Wiki Table." Thanks! (JosephASpadaro 04:40, 26 April 2007 (UTC))Reply

Thanks again. Your demo chart was helpful and made this topic a little clearer to me. Thank you. For some reason, the column widths of my Tables always seem to "move" (get fatter and slimmer) based on the longest cell entry I have in that particular column. Do you have any idea why that might be?

For example, if I have a column called "Name" -- and the longest name is JOHN, the column is very narrow, like the word JOHN. If I go in and add a name like GEORGE AND MARTHA WASHINGTON, then the column automatically gets wider (to accomodate the longer name). This happens regardless of the fact that I have entered a column width. Any ideas on why? I assumed that setting the column width made the column's width stable and fixed, and not fluid / changing.

Also -- I have been using the following format to set a column width: (which some one told me to use)

!width="150"|Name

Do you know what that number 150 means? Is "pixels" implied or used by default? Or does my above code mean something different than pixels? And why is the "150" in quote marks?

Maybe this is the source of my problem? Or maybe this code simply means the same exact thing as 150 pixels? Any ideas? THANKS! (JosephASpadaro 05:11, 26 April 2007 (UTC))Reply

It looks like they were consistently removing the following link:

from various article spaces. However, if you look at how the user was removing this link, they were also removing the categories and other links pertinent to the subjects. They were also not specifying why they saw the need to remove that particular link, although it does appear in all of the articles that they edited. I'm not sure if it qualifies as link spam as it could be argued that it is relevant to most of the articles it is found on. --BrokenSphere 18:39, 26 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Help

Hello, I've started using TWINKLE, and when I try to rollback a vandal's edit using the rollback button, it won't work. Thoughts as to the problem? Brain40 23:00, 26 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hmm... I believe Twinkle primarily works well in Firefox, I'm not sure on its status with other browsers. If you are using Firefox, you may want to open up Tools > Javascript Console, clear the messages there, then fully reload a page and try rolling back again, just to see if you get any telling errors. If not, you could check if popups are being blocked (the "revert vandalism" option brings up a popup of the user's talk page, if I remember right). Those are my first guesses -- I'm no wizard at this. ;) – Luna Santin (talk) 23:05, 26 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Without knowing the specific page in question, I can only guess that the page must be protected -- see Wikipedia:This page is protected for more information. There's a few different levels of protection, but the help pages should do a better job explaining this than I could. :) Hope that helps. – Luna Santin (talk) 18:50, 28 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Indefinite blocks

By any normal logic, it's obvious that "Bwah123" richly deserved the indefinite block that you gave him. The trouble is, normal logic hardly applies to a site such as this where IDs are created effortlessly and instantly. Thus "Bwah123" took mere seconds before popping back, complete with obsessions about penises, as "Owangejuice".

If I ran this show, I'd both (i) make getting an ID a lot harder, and (ii) ban nitwits permanently and without any timewasting warnings. But I don't, and since I can't do anything about the nutty free handout of IDs, I tend to string the nitwits along. At least I then know their IDs, and their activities are easier to track.

All of this is daft, isn't it?

(I also occasionally wonder about this recurrent obsession of vandals with writing about anal sex. If they're so enthralled by the idea, why don't they just run off and do it, or (more likely) gaze at photos of others doing it? Still, I don't want to fathom the depths of the retard mind; it's too depressing a prospect.)

No need to reply; but if you want to, feel free to do so here. -- Hoary 02:03, 1 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

In fact a 5th request was filled by a single purpose account [3], the request was apparently reverted by User:Jersyko (admin) then put on semi protection... lack of blocked templates on user talk pages

Hi, I noticed that you have been blocking a lot of vandals (which is good) without placing any information on the user talk page denoting that they've been blocked (which is not so good). It helps vandal patrollers as much as it informs the vandal. Please start placing the block templates on the user talk pages if you would be so kind. -- KirinX 15:27, 2 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Not to be too brief, but I don't believe you understand the magnitude of your request. Taken as a whole, you're asking me to make about 6,000 edits with no apparent tangible benefit, and I'm entirely sure that there are much better ways I could be spending my time as an administrator. For a more in-depth reply, see User talk:Luna Santin/Archive 25#Luna. I don't know why this has suddenly become an issue for a few people, but I'd just as soon move on. – Luna Santin (talk) 20:59, 2 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
I shall check out that archive, but before I do, I'll at least say, with all due respect, if you're not going to do the job properly, don't take so much on. You're creating unnecessary work for others. -- KirinX 23:44, 2 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
As long as we're being respectful, "creating unnecessary work for others" seems to apply just as well to you, in this case. – Luna Santin (talk) 23:45, 2 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Your opinion, not mine. I assure you I would not find it unnecessary if I were to have the power to block. -- KirinX 23:47, 2 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
And one further thing: don't get the impression I have anything against you, cuz I don't. I appreciate your work and wish I had the power to contribute in the fashion you are. I may get there one day, but I still reserve the right to make requests of those that do. And you have right to tell me to go take a flying leap. ;) -- KirinX 23:50, 2 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
But I should do so as politely as possible! :) To be fair, I do appreciate your concerns, and the number of people that have prodded me over this recently has gotten me thinking about it; perhaps the community is changing over time, or else I'm attracting the attention of a particular group I didn't run into, much, before. I don't think I'm quite ready for a change, yet, but ideas are swimming. We'll see, I guess. – Luna Santin (talk) 00:13, 3 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

An experienced user can obtain block details, including the blocking administrator and reason, by looking at the block log.

The blocked user will be notified of their block, including the blocking administrator and reason, when they try to edit a page.

That's all that is necessary. Anything else is a simply waste of time. Why do people not understand this? – Gurch 06:41, 3 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

The only interesting case is adding indef blocked users to the Category: Temporary Wikipedian userpages, that allow old talk pages to be deleted (even if I wonder whether someone still bothers to do that, to be honest). -- lucasbfr talk 08:05, 3 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Talk:Phi Kappa Psi — Very bad, very fast.

Discussion has got very bad, very fast, as a member of the Mediation Cabal has proposed thatrape should not be discussed in a particular context exactly because it is too common to be noteworthy.SlamDiego 04:36, 3 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hm. Not sure what to make of that. Sorry I didn't reply, sooner. Looks like discussion at Talk:Phi Kappa Psi has been stalled since about the time of your message, unless it's been moved elsewhere. Asking at Wikipedia talk:Mediation Cabal, to see if another mediator might be willing to help, might do some good. Sometimes I'm a good mediator, sometimes, not -- this reads to me, at least at first glance, as the latter situation. Other option, post to requests for comment or third opinions. – Luna Santin (talk) 23:03, 11 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi Luna Santin,

Thank you very much to responding my plea for help. I appreciate it. The article looks clean, but the headings are still a bit wrong. Let me explain. The actual headings are as follows. To add on to the earlier comments, I just corrected the headings. They are all fine. the problem is with the contents list, where after heading 5, the spacings are not formatted, as in 5, 5.1 5.2 all start at the same place. Vinwe 07:27, 4 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • Hi Luna. I'm just giving a thank you for being so vigilant when dealing with the anonymous vandal (vandals) who appear to have vandalized my user page hours earlier. This anonymous user has been a repetitive nuisance over past weeks, claiming to be me at times while also garnering one user to even incorrectly accuse us of being the same users unfortunately, depsite clearly different IP's and edit histories. More worringly for me is that this user(s) IP #'s appear to also be from the same network provider and region as I am, which has caused me to believe it is this same person(s) who has also hijacked my e-mail account somehow recently with malware. Hopefully his tirade will end at some point, or at least be less frequent. Anti-vandal users like yourself as always do much to help though, so thanks again. Ciao. Epf 08:31, 4 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Account creation block

It appears that this user wants to create a new account, because he apparently did not vandalize, his brother did. I wish I could believe him, but I don't know why the user itself, posted the message. Presuming that the post is correct, would it be a good idea to lift the account creation block so that the leginamate person can create a new account?--U.S.A. cubed 20:54, 4 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

(edit conflicted, wah) If it were a one-off incident, there's more believability to their story, but if you check their contribs, they've been disruptive on three distinct dates: 20 April, 23 April, and now 2 May. If it's just a case of the hypothetical sibling wanting to create an account, the autoblock should be expired by now, in which case the IP address should be free to edit/register (or, if they're on a dynamic address, the autoblock would be irrelevant by now, anyway). Unless there's something else, here? – Luna Santin (talk) 21:05, 4 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
No, that's about it. I notified the user, and quoted your text about the conclusion. Feel free to leave this user any additional messages if you want.--U.S.A. cubed 21:14, 4 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Negima?! vandalism?

Hi. I couldn't help but notice that the Negima?! page is being constantly hit by vandals who apparently want the whole page gone. I saw some hints of an 'edit war' going on at the talk page ... What is the problem and what is being done to put a stop to them? Art is life and life is an art. 22:31, 6 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well, it looks like a same person using more than one IP addresses to vandalize Negima!?. I requested Negima!? to be protected. NHRHS Class of 2010 22:31, 6 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Negima!? needs to be semi-protected, due to vandalism. Since I requested protection on WP:RFPP, hopefully an admin would protect the page. NHRHS Class of 2010 22:34, 6 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Duck test

Why is an anon user (193.224.247.34) banned without evidence just because he complains about the Duck test? There is no evidence he is a banned user! It could be a registered user who fears a summery block (which of course he got). Please go to [4] to provide any evidence or reasons. Hypnosadist 11:46, 7 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Not banned, blocked, and not without chance of appeal. With a little bit of critical thinking, the IP is clearly either a blocked user, or editing on behalf of a blocked user. Since they're not providing the circumstances of the original block (or hadn't, when last I checked), it's difficult reach any particular conclusion. If the original block truly was invalid, they should explain how. That's my read on things, anyway. – Luna Santin (talk) 20:55, 7 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Sir neither am i a vandal nor am i sock. The ip range is owned by whole city of mine including the college. i have citations and i want history of my community should not be played with by the likes of kannambadi.

Sir, This indef banished User:Sarvabhaum is crawling through Karnataka/Kannada related articles throwing [citation needed] tags. I request a wide ban on IP addresses from this region. I have also asked others to report this activity to you.ThanksDineshkannambadi 14:32, 10 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

It's very unfortunate to see hard work of dedicated editors being vandalized by some unknown IPs. I've been correcting the edits of these IPs for 3-4 days now. Every time this user logs in, he vandalizes certain articles with frivolous tags, deletion of content and adding unreferenced, irrelevant sentences. Personal attacks in talk pages are done time and again. If this user is not User:Sarvabhaum as he claims, why don't he log in or create and account? I request concerned admins to take appropriate action against these vandal IPs.Gnanapiti 15:34, 10 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Nice question. This gnanapiti, kammanbadi, sarvagnya, knm and other kannadi gang kannadize each and evry article they go. Many Tamil nadu/Maharashtra and AP related historiacal articles are vandalised by these people. They roam in group so as to fare well in edit warring. I believe Gnanapiti and sarvagnya are sockpuppets and confirmed as well. KNM and kannambadi need to be checked. They have created a sytemized bias against Marathi people in yadavas of devagiri and rashtrakutas. They shamelessly market their theories and belittle other's history. This needs to be checked.

I am not Sarvabhaum, for the last time. The IP address is shared by whole city of mine or atleast whole college of mine. Atleast 7 people are in wikipedia from my college. Those who want to check might do so. I am not a vandaliser. Someone has to rise up against the kannadi vandalism. I am for justice and unless i dont get it let these kannadis feel the heat.

Dineshkannambadi's reply

Sir, please discuss with admin User talk:Blnguyen and he will confirm who this person 59.95.. is. This guy was banned permanently for sock puppetry, edit warring and avoiding bans through IP's and has been giving the same excuse about college students using common IP's etc. Words like "feel the heat" is a clear example of a mind set on vengence and stalking. This is not the case of many students on a common computer but a case of one person perhaps switching computers in a college or in a cyber cafe with one intention - Vandalism. The fact that he is watching our edits to your talk page proves that he is not a kid having fun either.Dineshkannambadi 15:59, 10 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Now u see sir. First came gnanapiti than sarvagnya and now kannambadi. See the time of their posts. These guys play a dirty game of edit warring and bully others. Blnguyen blocks any ip/a/c which starts from 59.95 which is shared by whole of my city. Also, see my views and questions and not my ip.Now i will tell u why i am here. sarvabhaum, vishu, Mahawiki, Pratap are all in my college and they have tried many times to get this kannadis some sense and manners. But this jerks go on vandalising historical article sof others states of India and push their state's POV by using an idioctic auther's book who has no credentials or who's not even know outside his state. This should end and so should this combined arson of this kannadi editors.

Vandalizing articles and image pages with frivolous tags have to be stopped. What Sarvabhaum is exactly trying to prove here? I don't know what is the solution. May be blocking the range of IP? Gnanapiti 16:16, 10 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

One who's confirmed sockpuppet of User:Sarvagnya should not indulge in mudslinging. Sir, addition of tags questioning authenticity and accuracy of information isnt vandalism. If it was than how come this kannadi gang attacked various Marathi (eg.shivaji,Yadavas of devagiri) and other Tamil articles/images with tags? Again,Sarvabhaum isnt me.I am distinct than that of him. Another thing is that this Gnanapiti aka Sarvagnya, Dineshkannambadi, KNM have a unholy nexus and they assisit eact other for edit wars. This harrassment should stop. They use some references which have no value and are nothing but self-congratulatery idiotic historians. I cant allow my state's history to be maligned by kannadi sources. Why block my IP?Because i am giving tit for tat? I request admin to act in a impartial way and help curbing out kannadisation of articles and terrorism of this kannadi editors.

Thanks for reverting vandalism, but please do not forget to issue warnings

Hello. I'm in agreement with the recent revert you made to User:Meegs. You may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit was inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you. --Kralizec! (talk) 05:37, 9 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

With all due respect, I don't feel that's necessary in this case. They're obviously not a first-time user (why else would they suddenly undo an edit by Meegs, halfway through a dispute?), and a user who suddenly, unambiguously, and aggressively attacks over a half-dozen pages doesn't need a template message to realize this isn't model behavior. Templates are good, I use them frequently. But there comes a point, as in this case, where you're only feeding the trolls and promoting the behavior. That's my take on things, in any case. – Luna Santin (talk) 06:23, 9 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Perhaps I am missing a bigger-picture issue, but surely the best way to stop persistent vandals is via blocks. In the case of this anonymous editor, it appears that on May 7th they vandalized the user pages of five different user's and two articles, but only received a single warning. If each reverting editor had issued a warning, the IP could have been blocked. --Kralizec! (talk) 14:07, 9 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
In fact, Luna blocked the IP just after reverting the changes. Usually I don't answer to questions on someone else's talk page, but I saw something strange: Luna you provided a link to unblock-en in your block reason, but it seems the link is broken. Am I missing something? -- lucasbfr talk 14:27, 9 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm the author of a poorly executed AfD, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Yamaha Banshee 350. I request early closure, because my nomination was made with terrible precedent and hasty judgement. Thank you. ALTON .ıl 06:24, 11 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Looks like that's taken care of. :) Sorry I wasn't around at the time of your request. – Luna Santin (talk) 18:26, 11 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Someone's playing around with my article~!!

If you type Vidya Shilp Academy in the google bar, you get a nonsensical article that appears as the 3rd hit from wikipedia! I've written the article myself about the school, but someone keeps changing/deleting it. At this point, I WANT TO GET RID OF THE ARTICLE AND DELETE IT ENTIRELY since im tired of the vandalism. HOW DO I DO THIS??

Note: The user sent the article to AfD afterwards. Dpkmallya, you really should read WP:OWN. -- lucasbfr talk 13:54, 11 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
