 Tips
  • Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
  • It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
  • If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Sign your messages with four tildes (~~~~), be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
  • When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
  • If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
  • Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Please do not add or change content without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. SuperMarioMan (Talk) 22:04, 25 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hi Luvigas36437! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at BBC News presentation that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Viasat History, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Escape. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Move pages properly, please

edit

Please move pages properly. That means no copy-paste moves like with Cartoonito (French TV channel) because they violate Wikipedia's attribution rules. It also means letting move discussions run for the entire seven days. There are no deadlines here: better to take some time and ensure your edits are correct, than to rush, be sloppy, and have to spend even more time cleaning them up later.

Speaking of cleanup, I will do Cartoonito's. I kindly ask you please list any other copy-paste moves you've done, so we can fix them. Thank you. Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 13:32, 6 April 2023 (UTC) Fixed a wikilink at 13:33, 6 April 2023 (UTC) and another Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 13:35, 6 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

If no discuss, move request will cancelled. Luvigas36437 (talk) 13:42, 6 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Why not comment on the discussion to support (or oppose) the move, then? I've cleaned up the cut-paste move you did for Cartoonito. If you have further questions, please feel free to ask here. Thank you, Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 17:16, 6 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

It is unclear to me what you mean by this - can you elaborate? In any case, a reliable source is necessary to verify the content added. Waxworker (talk) 08:28, 19 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. The Grand Delusion(Send a message) 13:44, 19 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Dear Luvigas, I saw the discussion at the Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
You are putting in a lot of work here but running into some problems -- I know that's got to be frustrating.
  1. Please don't take this the wrong way but I encourage you not to edit here. We really need your contributions at the Latvian Wikipedia. This Wikipedia has over 100,000 active editors and the Latvian Wikipedia has fewer than 300. The English Wikipedia has over 6.7 million articles, the Latvian Wikipedia has 123,000 and is the 68th largest.
Globally, there are 100s of millions of English speakers who can edit this Wikipedia but there are fewer than 2 million native Latvian speakers. Latvian is also harder than many other language for non-natives to learn. I could never hope to understand Latvian as well as you understand English.
You can make a much bigger difference and do more good at the Latvian Wikipedia. This would be especially valuable to young people in the Latvian diaspora at risk of losing their native language.
  2. Spoken English is relatively forgiving of mistakes -- as you and so many non-native speakers have learned, there are many ways to get your point across. This is one reason it's become the global lingua franca.
By contrast, written English is deceptively treacherous and tricky. The written rules of English grammar are inconsistent and often illogical. Then there are many unwritten rules of English usage that aren't taught in classrooms but nevertheless expected in formal writing such as Wikipedia. It's much easier to understand written English material than it is to create it.
  3. Finally, if you're still really determined to edit here, I suggest you stick to Latvian-related content. Perhaps you could prepare draft articles in your "user space" (see Help:Userspace draft), then ask others to help check their English when you're done. I discourage your creating articles in the official "Draft-space" (Wikipedia:Drafts) - other editors can be too quick to delete them if they are problematic; this is not supposed to happen but we have some quick-triggered busybodies with "too much time on their hands".
Luvigas, our Wikipedias need your help and we appreciate your effort. I make these suggestions not as criticism but to point you in the best direction.

Hello, I'm Waxworker. I noticed that you recently removed content from TVP1 without adequately explaining why.
