MNmagistra
hello! and support of GWSS 1101
editHi, MNmagistra, and a belated welcome to Wikipedia! I saw on Talk:Phillipe Cunningham that you are teaching a class involving Wikipedia -- awesome! I started Phillipe's page, and have been around for a while, so I wanted to avail myself as a reviewer, or if your students want a wiki editor (who's not their teacher) to bounce ideas off.
cc: The Queen Valerie, who I see has been assigned to Phillipe's page. (But I'm happy to respond to comments or review work done by other students).
Best of luck with the class! Great to see higher education supporting & giving back to our encyclopedia. = paul2520 (talk) 20:41, 19 November 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Paul! Here's a very belated reply — thanks so much for getting in touch. In my course, the group working on Phillipe Cunningham's page unfortunately winnowed to one student. I think she would agree that she learned quite a bit from the project and she definitely appreciated the chance to find out more about Phillipe Cunningham's career. But there wasn't time to dig in as much as she would have liked. Thanks again, very much for your enthusiastic welcome of my students to the encyclopedia! Your work on GWSS 1101
editHi there, MNmagistra. I've just been reading Sue Dieter's interesting article "UMN Morris Intro Class Gets Wikified", which vividly explains how you have adapted your work on Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies to encouraging your students to gain experience of Wikipedia. As you've been involved in this enterprise since 2019, you might be interested in taking a look at WikiProject Women in Red where we are trying to chip away at the gender gap. We are always happy to welcome instructors and students as members. In particular, we try to encourage WikiEdu students to continue editing after the end of their course. I would be happy to help students such as Jellocoup and Paisleysierra with any new editing assignments they decide to take on. Please also let me know if ever you run into difficulties or need assistance yourself. (cc Ian (Wiki Ed))--Ipigott (talk) 11:00, 9 February 2022 (UTC)
- Just adding myself too as a happy Women in Red helper! Lajmmoore (talk) 14:31, 9 February 2022 (UTC)
